Restrict access to all other sections if you like, but this is a forum section dedicated to helping players and what players need more help than those new to the game and wondering whether or not to purchase the full thing?

The real risk though is the infinite access that gold sellers will then have to posting in that forum.

Yes I agree that legitimate new players should be able to have access to that forum (maybe it is unlocked once they reach 100AP or level 30?), but I don’t think having several pages of gold selling spam would be a good impression to new players either.

The forum technology prevents a lot of useful changes. ANet would have to contract out to a new third party for a new forum. (Of course, I’d like that for a variety of reasons; I just don’t see it happening soon, since it’s a significant expense and requires ANet personnel to be reassigned from their current tasks.)

They can use other sites forums. People need to stop trying to give free players more and more access. It’s really designed to just try out the game.

The contractor who made this forum went bye-bye a long time ago. They can’t even fix the search function so I doubt they know how to set it up so that some accounts can access all player forums and some only one.

If it was designed for them to “try out the game” they would have content restrictions instead of being able to play the whole game for free…
