My Ranger im only level 19 need suggestions.
I highly recommend trying out a couple of different professions to see what you like. I have a ranger, and I like it, but most of the utility skills don’t excite me much, and I definitely enjoyed leveling my mesmer and my elementalist more. They’re also a lot more vulnerable to damage than the ranger, however, so I have to play more cautiously. That fits my playstyle, however, so it works out fine.
Warrior or Guardian might be good ones to investigate if you want a group-friendly profession that can take a few hits without going down as easily as something lighter.
Ok thanks for the suggestion ill have a look into the warrior and guardian.
Ah yes indeed. I must ask you your goal in playing this game. Do you wish to crush your opponents through force or out play and out smart them?
This professions doesn’t seem viable. Is there any profession that can support a group but be easy profession as im not very good at this game?
False, but it does have some serious handicaps.
If you want easy-mode, go Warrior. You even get to keep the Ranger’s bow if you want.
…
Ranger | Necromancer | Warrior | Engineer | Thief
Honestly? If you team up even with ONE other player, it will instantly be twice as easy on ANY profession. It takes the pressure off you and allows you to fous on trying out things rather than just staying alive.
I would advise to stick with a class that “feels right” (for me it was engineer) and to make a few friends in the game or team up with someone from /map.
Playing a ranger together with a friend might be tons more fun than soloing with a warrior.

Thanks for looking at my post I not long came back from long break I made a ranger but as im levelling im getting more and more bored of levelling it. This professions doesn’t seem viable. Is there any profession that can support a group but be easy profession as im not very good at this game?
I have some issues analyzing your problem. The most important one is that in general professions that can support a group well are hard to play. (assuming with support you mean others then DPS-classes, but CC/healing classes.
Ranger is together with warrior one of the easiest classes to play. They do good DPS, CC and even can be supportive through some pets and healing spring.
Engineers, ele’s and guardians can do better support, but are harder to play.
So I think you have two options.
a: leave the idea of being supportive and go full DPS on a warrior (the only class that is easier to play then a ranger).
b: Learn to play and become a better player. I know I sound harsh but it is as I see it. I think Ranger is an excellent class to achieve this goal and being supportive.
If you are playing on european servers I’m happy to meet up in game and play a bit together. After observing you for a bit, I’m happy to give tips on how to become a better player.

Guardian. Easy play. Easy to carry PUGs.
Rangers are good in sPvP, decent in wvw, and that’s about it.
Rangers are solid in PvE as long as you’re not camping range and with bear pet.

This is probably getting way off topic (and I hope I don’t derail too much) but I don’t see what they have to offer to a party, even if it’s a good player using sword/offhand with bird or cat.
As a ranger, it’s way too much micromanagement, microgament if you will, just to get the pet not to do stupid things.
Might, fury, spotter (150+ precision, basically an extra disc. banner), frost spirit (7%+ damage increase), projectile reflection (OH axe).

This^
Plus, add sigil of strength (stack might on crit) on sword, and trait to share boons with a high DPS pet.
And a few pets have F2 skills that will stack might or fury, remove conditions, or give swiftness to the party for instance. They’re good for support.
mercury ranique hit the nail on the head with respect to rangers & warriors.
I will say that most professions offer a level of support, but I don’t think any do it as easily as guardian, warrior, and ranger. They almost have it built in, using banners and shouts and spirits naturally while leveling. Other professions, like necro or mesmer, have support potential too, but it’s generally specifically designed that way. At low levels, being supportive as a guardian, warrior, or ranger will be fairly easy for you.

I recently discovered a trick I learned with the Hyena. If you have 10 points in beastmastery and use V it will allow the cooldown of your pet skill to be decreased. Now the cool part is if you use Hyena their special skill is summoning an ally hyena. So the cooldown of its special skill will be shorter than the time the ally can be summoned so you cna have the hyena summon another one with a total of 3 hyenas. Now your ally hyenas disappear if there is no monsters to fight so it can only be used in battles.

Depends what PvE you’re talking about. everything is great for farming scarlet.
I’m specifically talking about dungeons.
Everything listed can be done better by a different class.
Boon sharing, condi removal, damage, pet summons, etc.
No other class can give 150+ precision (except warrior banner of discipline), and no other class has a skill that gives the group a flat out 10%+ damage boost.
I’m not saying they’re amazing, but they do have their uses. As another plus for whirling defense, it stacks (10) vulnerablity in addition to 5 seconds of projectile reflection.
The problem isn’t with the class, it’s to do with the fact that basically every pug ranger ever is an awful wrongbow/bear player who don’t understand that melee exists.

I see what you’re saying, and I agree with your last statement.
However for your first part, just bring a warrior. You will have better overall DPS anyway, plus the invuln should be maxed at 25 stacks anyway if the group is right.
I know there are benefits to ranger, but if another class can do it better, just bring that class (that’s from a group perspective. I know personally some people would rather play ranger than war).
The only REAL issue for the Ranger class is the Pet mechanic itself. Not a big deal in many situations, but full on kitten in most Dungeon situations. Pets have no method to avoid big or prolonged damage so they die and kitten the Ranger. Avoiding Rangers in general because of bad players is just ignorant.

Not really. It’s actually ignorant to do the opposite.
If you know 90% of something’s population is bad, and you have the option of picking between that and something that has a 10% bad population, knowing nothing else, what would you pick?
Obviously the numbers are made up, but it’s to disprove your last statement.
Example:
I have two bags, blue and red. Both have 20 tomatoes in it. 90% of bag blue has rotten tomatoes. 10% of bag red has rotten tomatoes.
If you want a good tomatoe, which bag would you blindly pick from?
Poor rangers I have been playing a ranger since beginning and have to say I am not understanding all this hate against them in dungeons. I seem to be doing my fair share and then some in any dungeon I go into. Of course I have my jungle stalker and red moa pet on stove going through a dungeon and only use them to give the group might and fury. I use my bow when that is called for and melee when needed so I cant see this where all this hate is coming from. Not all rangers are bad players and if everyone work together be it warrior or ranger or whatever profession, every dungeon will be a breeze.

You entire view is from picking a group for a Dungeon….NOT what I’m talking about when I discuss PvE. To be honest, I ignore Dungeons completely (mostly because of he attitude you are displaying with your argument).
Just for the record, I DID mention that Rangers are kitten in Dungeons….if that is your only consideration for playing with one, then feel free to dismiss them, but don’t project that narrow view of the game on everyone else.

I said this before you posted your thing about avoiding rangers:

So you respond to something I say specifically about dungeons, not open world PvE. Then you say my point isn’t valid because it’s only about dungeons?
What else do you “pick” somebody for? Dungeons is about it. You don’t pick somebody for open world PvE farming. You just join parties.
