Welcome. The most populated server will propably be blackgate. Although you should know, I myself am on a pretty low pop server and there are always enough people around to play with.

North America or Europe? If NA then come join us on Fort Aspenwood; strong WvW community, very well established PvE/dungeon/fractal community, boss train every night, large population overall and plenty of folks on almost every map. No ghost towns on this server. Plenty of big guilds for every game mode. Highly recommend it.

Everyone will make the case for why you should join their server. Every server has its share of friendly people and jerks. There is no otaku server, only otaku guilds. I suggest you check the guild recruitment section of this forum to get a better idea.

You can check the WvW Rankings - the higher the rank typically means more populated PvE world. Not an exact indication, but it should give you a range of servers to pick from that have the higher/lower populations. Keep in mind there are two regions NA and EU.

Higher ranked servers are typically more active and crowded, which can be good or bad depending on your taste. For example – more people readily available to group up with for living world/open world content, and a larger range of guilds (big and small) to join. But longer queue times to get into WvW, and more large crowds causing lag.

If you are on a North American timezone then I’m pretty sure Tarnished Coast is the official role playing server, but you should get confirmation on that.

Team Deathmatch for PvP – Raise the AoE cap for WvW – More unique events for PvE

This guy tells the truth.
I don’t mind having you, the OP, join my guild and server if you want.

Feel free to add me on Skype: DreamyAbaddon

Make that unofficial and you’re right. ANet never designated any server types, we RPers just latched onto TC for NA and Piken Square for EU.

You are right that ArenaNet never designated any server types, however, the fact that the RPers choose to main RP @ Servers in Tarnish Coast for NA and Piken Square for EU, makes it an official RP server.

It makes little to absolutely no difference wether ArenaNet gets involved or not.
If ArenaNet decided to name: “Tarnish Coast (RP)”, it wouldn’t change anything since all RPers are already there anyways and know about it.

Perhaps more people would know which server to go for RPing?
But anyone who takes RPing at heart, would know anyways from a little thing called “Research”.

My point being: “It’s an official RP server as long as people officially go there knowing that’s were the RPing is happening”

You should join a T1 server imo. These are all very high population servers and you can always find people to play with.

It would also be cost-effective – if you don’t like it, you can transfer to a lower population one for ~1.000 gems. But if you want to transfer to a very high population server, the cost is 1.800 gems.

And maybe you will want to get seriously into WvW, in which case the choice is obvious. Long queue times don’t matter that much imo (especially since they are not as long anymore as they used to be) because they are mostly only for Eternal Battlegrounds, so you can run around in the Borderlands and have WvW fun while waiting for the EB queue…

Hello Star Welcome to Guild Wars! If you need anyone to help you out in the game or anything i would gladly help PVE or PVP i practically do everything i can guide you through everything literally im not in a pve guild myself more into WVW but since its oceanic most of the day i spend doing pve stuff and wvw rather at night, id suggest to join blackgate its a Tier1 server with tons of people and they communicate well for events such as Tequatl the Sunless Dragon. We were the first server to beat it
