I haven’t played in a while and am just wondering are drops of liquid karma (and its variants) affected by any boosters or buffs?

Edit: Likewise with wvw xp boosters and buffs – do they increase the amount gained from liquid wvw xp etc?

Thanks.

Ok how about with wvw xp boosters and buffs – do they increase wvw xp gained from drinking liquid wvw xp potions etc?

As far as I know, none of the consumable xp, or karma items are effected by boosters.

The WXP potions DO get buffed by the WvW boosters, actually. (Or at least, they used to. I haven’t tested this in a while.) I think it also stacks with the Birthday Booster and the Outmanned buff, so if you plan on drinking those, grab both boosters and head to a map where you’re outmanned before drinking them all.

WvW jugs/vials/tastes/whatever do NOT get boosted by the WvW booster or the bday booster. Not sure about Outmanned, but I think it’s the same.

You cannot increase the karma gain from liquid karma. In exchange, the specific items have 50% more karma than they had originally.

There are a number of ways to boost karma gain from events and fractals and the wiki has all the details: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Karma#Karma_modifiers.

PS the wiki is a great initial resource for stuff like this; the top of that same article outlines sources.

I loved the good-ol-days when you would save up 4 months’ worth of karma potions from daily, monthly, dungeons, etc., then activate every karma boost possible, get +95%, then drink them all. then you would go buy orrian boxes, open them, and drink all the karma that came out and repeat that like 30 times until you had 0 karma and 40 mini risen priest of balthazar.
but now that is no longer how it goes.

IMO, it’s far better now:

  • You don’t have to waste inventory space anymore.
  • You don’t have to beg/borrow/steal boosters, banners, etc
  • You get an automatic +50% boost without any extra effort.

Sure 95% is better, but that required a lot of micromanagement. I’ll take reduced tedium over that.

It’s more that you felt you were gaming the system. Working within the rules, but getting more out of it than regular game play. I agree it’s better this way, but it was exhilarating to do that little extra effort and do something clearly not intended to maximize rewards.

Bottom line: There is now NO reason no to use Karma containers as soon as you get them (no need to store them) as the Karma is account wide (goes into a common pool) and no boosters can be used to gain extra if you pile them up for later use.
