Rerolling Charr for Human, should I?
I’ll have to redo all explorable dungeons and probably world completion again? – Does the world completion badge still stays on your character screen if the character is deleted?
So I’m just looking for some views : Should I do this? Or should I hold out in hope that Anet releases some really AWESOME charr armor in the future (achievement points patch maybe?)Just to let you guys know, I’m more of a pve-orientated player. In case that helps in anyway haha.
Yes and yes. Dungeon progress is bound to the toon, not to the whole account. And yes, you still have the badge in your toon selection screen and the title.
My best advice is to keep that charr and create a human. If nice heavy armors are released, probably tomorrow, you can decide which one you want to keep
Can’t you just fill a different char slot with a human warrior?
I’s find it difficult to delete a character I’d invested so much time in, but you won’t lose anything but sentimental stuff if you do go ahead and delete him.
Personally, I dislike playing as a Charr … not quite sure why but it just doesn’t quite work for me. And despite several rerolls (I’m extremely indecisive) and deletes, I almost always come back to humans. So, I’m biased, but humans are great!
But ideally, you could have both … are you able to purchase a new character slot? Or is this something you really don’t want to do?
Okay, it probably is smarter to keep my charr. The progress lost would equal to a huge gold and time investment to get a new toon back to the same state as my deleted ones. I mean i would also need to re-unlock the dyes that my previous toon had spend more laurels to get ascended items and what not.
Thanks for the advice, looks like I’ll have to be content with only having 1 look on my charr warrior. Here’s to hoping there’ll be some great looking armor from the patch, keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
@Crossedhorse – I maxed out my character slots already, made a ton of alts and looking at the gold to gem conversion, it’ll probably cost a hefty sum to buy a new slot.
Yea i agree with you, i poured a hundred plus hours on my charr warrior and I feel conflicted as to if i should really erase that guy. I mean that character there is already a huge time and gold investment, thus the dilemma.
But yea, maybe next time for MMOs, it’ll be a better thing to pick a humanoid races. I mean the armors for them usually look the best out of all the races right?
I certainly think so. I’ve liked nearly every armour I’ve seen on humans, but not so much on the other races. Even Norn don’t work despite being more or less just tall humans, because the proportions go a bit funny sometimes.
But generally, it depends on how much you care about the armour at the end of the day. It’s easy to kit out a human with good-looking armour right from the get-go with a couple of transmutation stones, but you haven’t got much left after that. With the charr you have a kind of “history” built up … I always struggle with my alts – that’s partly why I have so many. You don’t have the same level of connection.
Yea i totally agree with you on this, ok looks like i’ll stick with my charr then. It’s not worth the investment just for vanity reasons. haha thanks for the advice guys!
I’d say keep the Charr. You could go helmetless, Charr have cool faces, or I’d hope you find the face you made cool. Or you could get one of the cultural helmets, they look good on Charr especially Tier 3
Dungeon progress is bound to the toon, not to the whole account.
Wait, what? If I delete my main, I lose my dungeon achievements?

No you don’t Pixel, however you have to do Story Mode on every character for them to be able to enter exploreable mode (note: others can enter Exploreable Mode for you if you haven’t beaten Story Mode).
Oh, right. That makes more sense, and is much less of a problem. I panicked there for a second.
I don’t know why, really, I have no intention to delete my main, ever.
But anyway, thanks for clarification.
