I crafted Sunrise about a year ago and I decided to craft twilight because I prefer that skin. The plan was to craft Eternity and then sell it and use the gold to buy the juggernaut. That way I could get 2 legendaries for 1 gift of exploration (which I’m never getting again). Predictably now that I have it crafted I really don’t know if I want to sell it anymore.

Here’s the pros and cons of keeping it.

Pros:
Sets you apart (PvE)
let’s people know you’re good (WvW), adds to the prestige of the guild while zerging.
It is an improvement aesthetically on Sunrise
It really is a good looking greatsword
I don’t really need the gold. I can farm plenty for day-day play.

Cons
I’m not actually in love with the sunrise skin, if it was the twilight skin 100% of the time with the added glowing hilt and footfall effects I would keep it for sure but sunrise is only an ok skin imo. Most of the time it’s a wine colour. I was very disappointed with it when I got it first. All those screenshots of a blue and cloudy sword… yeah not so much. So the fact is that 3/4 of the time I’m gonna be looking at a better Sunrise instead of a better twilight.

All the gold would be pretty sweet. Full ascended gear for my thief with precise agony infusions so I can use him for fractals and raids. I know thief doesn’t need the extra precision but… I want it ^^

TLDR: Eternity or The juggernaut and full Ascended gear for PvE main.

Sell or keep? I’m not sure what vibe the post will give but I really am 50/50 atm.

If you want the legendary but like the skin of twilight, you can reskin it. Unlocking Eternity in your wardrobe unlocks sunrise and twilight skins.

That said, for the price of one Eternity you could buy dozens of ascended weapons with varied stats, so its really more of a gold question to me

Eternity is a bit different though

No offense but it doesn’t really set you apart, bring prestige or let people know you’re good to have Eternity at this point. Maybe around launch, but now everyone with a credit card and too much disposable income has one. I’ve probably seen more bad players with it than good ones, although to be fair maybe they were using Sunrise or Twilight.

That, of course, is the other problem. People are only going to know that it’s Eternity if they’re watching you carefully or if you explicitly link it. That doesn’t seem likely in a zerg situation.

Do what you think looks nice and what you think would be fun. In a massive, largely anonymous online game your opinion on yourself is more important than what others think when they see you anyways.

These pros are wrong to be honest. A lot of players have this legendary and a legendary doesn’t have the power to make someone good and skilled, regardless the gamemode. Only your brain can.

You don’t need any skill in order to make a legendary. It wasn’t true for the new ones but since the nerf it’s not even the case anymore.

You can’t tell a difference between eternity from twilight or sunrise except for the gaudy jewel, I sold mine – held onto it since before the HoT patch hoping it would be update so that it looks like it’s own legendary- I mean it’s the combination of two awesome swords, you’d think that would create something epic.

i think the legendaries are at a point were you may have more prestige if you don’t have one lol.
A quick look around and everyone have it, and if you hover your cursor on them, they may not have even world completion.That’s a mastry point on mastercard(a legendary one :P).
Personaly i think that legendaries must obtaied by crafting only(like fractal capacitor backpack etc) but this is another story and off topic a little…

Keep it. That way whenever you see someone bragging about their Twilight or Sunrise, you can link Eternity and ask them why are they only half-arsing it, huehuehue.

In all seriousness, keep it. Especially if you crafted both Sunrise and Twilight yourself. It makes for a nice achievement. Sure, lots of people will say you bought it credit card blabla, but you will know.

I found myself in the same situation – at first I didn’t care about legends, then I said I’d craft Sunrise, then I finished it and said kitten it, I am making Eternity since there were no other legends that I liked enough or was gonna use enough, so I crafted Twilight and merged them. I gotta tell you, the feeling was really really good, after all those hours to finally get the kitten sword. I never regretted it since. I used Eternity skin for about 2 years on my main, I only changed it about 2-3 months ago because I wanted a bit of change and I wanted to use the newly-acquired White Mantle greatsword skin, which is really really nice. I’ll probably go back to Eternity soon enough, I am waay too attached to that skin to not use it again on my main.
