Guild Wars 2

I am running a Warrior and saved enough to start crafting some ascended armor. My current armor is a soldiers build (Soldiers Infiltration Exotic).

I play mostly PVE, Dungeons and WvW – Any advice on the type of Ascended Armor and runes would be greatly appreciated.

With regard to armour, Berserker’s stat set has always been a common choice for dungeons, as it gives out the largest boost to physical damage output. However, if you prefer dealing condition damage, you might want to try something else such as Sinister stat type.

For WvW, the choice is much more up to your personal preference; if you like roaming with large zergs, then anything will be viable (just remember that you will likely be taking a lot of damage as a Warrior in a zerg, so perhaps some toughness or vitality will benefit there).

For runes, it depends on your budget; Superior Runes of Strength are powerful for their increased might and power, but are incredibly expensive (and as a Warrior, you will already have a lot of might from “Forceful Greatsword” if you use that trait).

So I recommend you skim through the trading post looking at all of the runes, and pick which one you like the sound of and that is not out of your budget.

(Also note, hopefully another player will post in this thread and give their own opinion, as going off of solely mine might not be in your best interests).

from a pve stanpoint, i’d agree with the other poster. Berserker will do the most damage, and for dungeons thats essentially what you want. You can find SO many people arguing about this topic. You can make up your own mind on that, but for my part, I’ve thought a lot about it, and I’m full zerker in all my characters for pve content with no regrets. On my warrior I went strength runes. Very expensive, but a drop in the bucket comapred to the total price of a full ascended armor no matter what the stats.
From a WvW standpoint, definitly ask over at wvw forum if you dont get an answer here. I dont wvw, but I understnad the builds in wvw can be different based on your expected role and what you wnat to do in wvw. So if you need/want one set to cover both pve and wvw, it may not be berserker.

I have a full set of exotics that are a soldier build. After researching I’m considering using the soldier exotic armor for WvW and maybe craft a set of ascended zerker for PvE/Dungeons. That might make the most sense…I was hoping for a one-stop solution.

My other concern is should I wait for HOT to see if there are any changes.
