i cant swap my weapons while moving this problem just came to me someone know how to fix it? i can swap weapons while my toon stands still but not while moving

I get this sometimes, but I can’t swap weapons at all (moving or standing) until i open the Hero panel and press the swap button there; after that it works fine again.

But if you keep getting this, it must be a bug and you should submit a ticket.

Can you do other actions while moving? Maybe your keyboard can’t recognize so many commands at once.

Random cheap keyboards are only required to acknowledge 4 keypresses at once to cover ctrl-alt-shift-f5 types of commands. Gaming keyboards can do at least 6.

This is why NKRO keyboards are useful, especially for elementalists.

I never had weapon swap problem i could swap even if i press 3 or 4 keys at once, is this a bug or something wrong with my keyboard?

We don’t know, we can’t get to your keyboard to check.

Here’s some questions that would help narrow it down:

• Can you swap weapons when you’re not moving, or does it sometimes stop working completely?
• Can you do other actions whilst moving?
• If you re-bind weapon swap to a different button does it fix the problem?
• Does that key work normally outside of GW2?

There is a bug that can prevent weapon swapping. Generally it involves you trying to swap at exactly the wrong time such as just as a cutscene starts or right as you are getting hit with a knockdown.

You can usually get out of that one by opening the hero panel and clicking on the weapon swap.

Attempting to pick up an environmental object such as a banner and failing due to timing out or because someone else just picked it up can also cause problems but that will cause you to be unable to use any skill at all.

Bout 17 hours ago, I was experiencing some lag spikes, as well as the person I was playing with. So can you tell if this problem has been sustaining, cause I suspect the cause was the lag.

I tried binding it to another key TAB and it works i can swap while moving but im more used to use ½ as swapping. but when i bind it to the same one as before it still wont swap while moving.

Are you pressing that key BY ITSELF? Start auto-running (NOT holding W, but actually bind a key to the function “auto-run”; mine is R) and, without holding any other keys, try swapping with your old weapon swap. Because if it works in that situation, it is 100% an issue of you having a cheap keyboard.

For instance, in GW1, I could move along pressing A+TAB+ALT+2 or 3, and those worked fine, but if I tried A+TAB+ALT+5, the 5 specifically didn’t work, because it was a cheap, non-mechanical keyboard. It also took me about 2 years to figure out it was that combination specifically (because it kept getting me killed when skill 5 refused to activate.

Yes i did try auto running and it did indeed work, and yes my keyboard is a cheap one i guess i have to find another keybind for swapping and get used to
