Hi, just one question. Which class generally goes well with a Warrior in PvE (co-op personal story, map exploration, dungeon, etc.)? Personal anecdotes and opinions are welcome

Hard to say. What kind of weapons, skills, and trait spec do you plan on using for the Warrior?

For example, I have a couple of Warriors myself. One is a tanky Hammer build that focuses on area control while the other is an AoE buffing offensive build that increases the dps of those near me. Based on my play style for each character, they have different strengths and weaknesses. I’d want some kind of dps focused class build to compliment the Hammer character’s control effects and either a tanky class build or pet class build for the AoE buffing character.

We are Test Group F. (Don’t ask about what happened to the previous Test Groups.)

Naturally I would say a healer, but since this game has none of them…at last none dedicated.

Are you planning on playing with someone, I assume?

Maybe a guardian for control/boon/support? Maybe an elementalist or mesmer for the same?

I find Warrior + Warrior really cool.
Though Warrior + Ranger or Elementalist is great too.
Warrior + Guardian is a great duo as well.
You can also combine Warrior + Necromancer (either axe or condition).
I bet Engineer or Mesmer + Warrior go well too.

It doesn’t really matter. You or your friend should pick a class that is fun for them to play.

I’ve played in a tag team with my boyfriend as a Thief + Engineer combo since release and we managed fine, even though some people on here will tell you that that isn’t ideal. Other times I grouped up with a friend who is a ranger, and we did really well too.

I’ve run dungeons with all sorts of class mixes, sometimes without any tank builds, no warriors or guardians, and that works, too. Sometimes this means that you can’t brute force yourself through a mob and have to play differently, i.e. pull more individual enemies instead of zerging a mob; but I enjoy that playstyle which is why I play ranged weapon characters all the time.

So, whatever, really. Pick a class/playstyle that is fun for you, then you can’t go wrong.
