Where are the highest ammount of ambient creatures and the shortest respawn time?

I usually pop into the borderlands where you start from the southwest corner. Proceed through the path that leads east from the spawn and there are plenty.

Obviously not the best choice if you have queue.

Southsun next to the Guild Challenge/Guild Rush starting place. The place is infested with crabs. :P
That’s where i go if i want to kill ambient creatures.

Queensdale, Vale waypoint. Plenty of chickens on the farm field and other ambient creatures to the south near the water.

The swamp in Queensdale is well-populated.

Also, Rata Sum Idea Incubation Lab.

Brisbane Wildlands has a lot. Also the WvW borderlands around and the approach from spawn to redvale/greenvale/bluevale camp will give you enough to get your daily up – depending on which color your team is for the week. Come to think of it, most of the supply camps in the BL have 10+ ambient creatures.

The swamp in Queensdale, hands down. There are tons there. To many to even worry about respawning.

I usually kill salmon in the center area of frostgorge sound hear the entrance to the dungeon.

Godslost Swamp in Queensdale. I can go there on my Necromancer, stand in the middle of the area behind the cabin, tap 3 on axe, and get something like 18% of the achieve in one second.

The critters do respawn, too. Still, it works best if no one else is clearing them, because there’s no way to share the kills. For a spot with no competition, try the southeast corner of Mount Maelstrom with all the little crabs. As a bonus, you have non aggro killable fish there, so you can get Ambient, Maguuman Killer, and Aquatic Slayer all at once.

Personally I go to Ebonhawke, step into the quarry, and murder all the rats. There are about 8 just as you enter the quarry

Go to the river place near the frog village near the start of Metrica Province! There are a great number of crabs in the river and in the village. Please leave Queensdale’s bunnies alone …

Wayfarer Foothills – Hangrammr Climb (skill point – place with giant wurm from 1st norn personal story) a lot of ravens.

I remember a lot of rats in LA sewers but I’ve checked now and they’re gone, are there only in a mission or I’ve been looking in wrong place?

This is a good one because they respawn pretty fast. I also found the fort just south of the Nentor Waypoint in Lornar’s Pass to be really good. The rats respawn almost instantly because killing them counts for the renown heart.

Any place there’s water usually has a lot of salmon that respawn quick

There are a ton of rats during one of the Vigil story missions in Lion’s Arch, the one that involves going through the sewer and finding the Zhaitain “scout”. " Forwarned is Forarmed" I think is the name of it?

Yah, they aren’t there normally, just during that mission.

Can I somehow restart this mission if I’ve done this? I saw something about replay once but I can’t remember where that option was, I think this is the best place with ambient creatures.

You can go to Idea Incubation lab for 6 ambients every 20-25 seconds

Go to the farm in the southwest corner of Ebonhawke. There’s a ton of chickens running around- go to town on them.

I usually cycle around Claypool in Queensdale and the fields to the north. There are chickens in the fields and in the barn, deer in the woods, and pigs in the yard.

Within Tyria, there are certain areas with above-average populations of ambient creatures:

Kryta
Queensdale
Deathroot Shack — Frogs, Raven, and Sparkfly

Maguuma Jungle
Brisban Wildlands
Toxal Bog — Mosquitos
Bloodtide Coast
Vindar’s Lagoon

The ravens around the Issormir skill point in Wayfarer Foothills spawn very quickly. It should only take you a few minutes to get what you need there.

I normally go for the rabbits in Wayfarer Foothills to the west and south of Talgar Waypoint (like all the other choices, plenty of them, and they’re on a fast respawn). There’re probably better places for the ambients alone if that’s all you need, but that one has excellent synergy with other things you’re also likely to be doing as part of your daily: several Veteran Oakhearts on a fairly fast respawn in the same area; multiple events at Victor’s Point, just NE; Champion Son of Svanir Wolfmaster spawns regularly just to the north; a decent number of gathering nodes. Plus the Frozen Maw event chain a little further north if you’re in the area at the right time.

WvW in your world’s borderland just a bit after exiting out the north of the citadel waypoint. :p

Don’t forget, ambient crabs also count for shelled creature kills as well. Southsun is awesome for both.

full of rats at beginning… but you must be a Vigil, aroud lvl 60 ;_;

When it’s daily ambient killer I usually do it in the swamp in queensdale. Start at one end of the wooden path that goes around it with either my guardian with a staff, or my flamthrower engineer, and go around killing everything around it. Usually I’m done with the daily before the end of the path, or I’m very close to it.

I was going to suggest the Idea Incubation Lab in Rata Sum, but people are currently camping the little spawn location for the group of five or six ambients. So, yeah.

My experience only have two answers.

1. The WvW borderland where you start at the bottom right corner. Slaughter ambients towards the east camp and you will get 90% of your daily before even leaving the safe zone.
2. Forewarned is Forearmed, level 60 Vigil personal story step in the Lion’s Arch sewers. An endless stream of rats respawning in just seconds makes this the most ambient infested place in the game (often recommended for weapon master achievements). This place doesn’t work for Maize balm farming – you can spawn elementals, but they won’t drop any loot.
