best place to farm for gold (not dungeons)
Taking every Temple event you can do can be helpful, sadly they aren’t on timers anymore so can be difficult to follow. Big Worldbosses like Tequalt/Wurm can bring in some decent coin. Silverwaste/Dry Top (especially during sandstorms) can be rather effective aswell if organized. All of these are often organized by the community, in EU servers that’s gw2community, being on their TS is helpful, for NA I don’t know.
None of these options hold a candle to the big dig in SW or speedrunning dungeons how-ever.
Fully solo there’re multiple places you can farm t6 (Southsun and Frostgorge are the most common) or worthwhile materials (linen) how-ever if someone else is doing it, it will be less effective. Also less profitable than dungeons unless you’re very lucky. (Which can be said for any farm though.)

Well, a good place to farm other than dungeons is… other dungeons. Seriously, the amount of cash you can get from a dungeon tour is more than you’d expect, but you need a good party to run them fast. You can get a LOT of paths done in 2-3 hours.
Other than that, Silverwastes seems pretty decent for farming cash: the Labyrinth is really not bad, you run around and get tons of free chests with a good chance at champ bags and t6 mats, not to mention the event rewards since the best way to farm the area is to complete the preparations and breach as soon as possible, then head down into the labyrinth for 15 minutes of pacman.
sPvP give you decent amount of gold. If you do Team arena you can get between 1.5-2gold and 5-6 boxes of loots per hour. Not as good as dungeon, but if you like doing sPvP its a nice stable income of gold.
I’m not sure if you consider fractals a “dungeon” but fractals can give major gold

I want to meet this frosty george and work for him on his train of champions ;-;
In no particular order:
- Champ farms, which is mostly Frostgorge these days.
- Event chains, notably temple events in Orr but also things like the seraph clearing the centaurs out of northern Harathi or keeping the hylek safe in sparkfly. In these examples, you get a ton of mid-tier gear which is often more valuable than L80 equipment. In all cases, it is more lucrative with a small zerg.
- Southsun Karka farming. There’s nearly always a train.
- EotM is nothing but a farm these days. You get a bunch of champ bags and karma for completing events, not to mention miscellaneous loot.
- Special events and maps, currently Silverwastes.
- Farming for specific mats, such as T5-6 venom, blood, and scale on the beaches of southsun (i.e. not karka). You can google various routes, especially one that’s maintained by someone on the wiki in their personal user space.

That can be said of nearly every single aspect of the game though, including sPvP. I’m quite surprised how many of the ‘old’ farms are still alive, I only do dungeons/fractals nowadays. ^^
