best way to farm/get molten lodestones?
Most items like that, it’s best to farm gold and then buy as the drop rate from the bags is very low. So, run dungeons.

You can get them from high level flame legion mobs as well as the bags dropped by those flame legion mobs. You’ll want lv76+ mobs for cores and lodestones.
If you have a lot of spare skill points you can promote cores to lodestones. Might not be the best use of SPs but it does reduce the price by a significant amount.

Usually high level “humanoid” mobs.
But really it doesn’t pay off to farm for bags. Do a mix of dungeons (well in this case preferably CoF and CoE I guess) if you can, otherwise try dynamic events in Orr and spread AOE love plus do World Events/Bosses. Harvest your ori/ancient wood/passion flowers (while karka) in between, sell stuff on TP, buy molten lodestones. They are the same price as onyx (when I got them recently for buy orders) – you’ll have them in no time.

If you check the drop rate research on the bags, (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Molten_Lodestone) it’s very low. About 0.56% from one or one lodestone out of 176 of the bags. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bag_of_Alchemical_Materials/Drop_rate
You could always farm the bags and sell the content to buy lodestones, but dungeons are probably better at farming money.
Per the first answer. It’s much more lucrative (and faster) to simply earn enough gold to buy them. The drop rates on all types of Loadstones is down right depressing….

Farm gold, buy lodestones (or cores if it’s cheasper to promote). You will also want to do as much CoF as possible. Each dungeon drops a speciffic lodestone/core from its chests, and CoF drops Molten (CoE drops Charged, SE drops Destroyer, TA drops Onyx etc.). It’s not a guaranteed drop, but it’s fairly often at least for cores.
