I recently created a new character, and when I change the key binds on it, it changes my main character key binds as well. Is this normal?

Yes.

When adjusting the key binds in the Options, it adjusts them for your entire account, so every character will use the newly adjusted key binds.

I’m not sure if there is a way to make it specific to one character.

Although the game itself does not support alternat keybinds, there are plenty of keyboards that allow for key template customization.

I have a Corsair Vengeance K70 w/ brown switches. It probably does, but I don’t know…

I use the Logitech key pad. I forget the name, but I LOVE it. I can’t imagine playing without it. I don’t change the bindings between characters, but you can. You can easily customize it. You could even have the keys change colors with each setting, so you could have green glowing keys for your necromancer, blue for your guardian, ect.
