Hello fellow GW2 players.

currently working on my legendary after I made ascended armor, which ironically bankrupt me :p

currently I have only 2 things left to get.

the precursor and some t6 mats for the gift of might. this post is for the t6 mats.

which are the best spots to go and harass the locals for armored scales (need 150), the claws (need 150) and fangs (need 150) already got 250 bone.

after that i’ll take a look at the elephant in the room.

already cried blood when the 100 runestones were used and the others for the gift of magic.

my progress thus far is the gift of sunrise, gift of mastery, 77 clovers and the gift of magic. still short the ecto but the stuff for the gift of might is my main concern right now

For scales, try skritt in dry top or WvW…heavy bags with scales, and bones, and straight drops for scales and bones as well. Sell the bones you don’t need, and buy more scales

Farm cash, buy what you need. Lab farm atm is a very good farm spot, or maize farm if you can stomach it. Otherwise, do dungeons like crazy for the gold and tokens (which you then transform into gold).

You may also consider transforming laurels into t6 mats (1l = 3 random t6 mats), but only if you don’t have any other use for them; laurels are a very limited resource and some things can only be bought with them (ascended recipes), so be careful not to blow them away on t6 mats if you need them for something else.

Why not craft T6 mats from their T5 counterparts in the mystic toilet? The recipe is rather simple …
50 T5 Mats
1 T6 Mat
5 Chrystaline Dust
5 Philosopher’s Stones

You can probably argue either way on the merit of this approach, but if you have a surplus of skill points (for the stones) and T5 materials, it actually makes sense.

While this may be the best, and fastest option, the only thing this does is increase the price of T6 on the TP. Which leads to more and more “outrage” that the in-game economy is horribly inflated. So unless you are planning on never buying T6 again, farming gold, and buying them might just be the way to go. But in the long run buying T6 in those quantities actually does more harm than good in the long run. So expect to see T6 prices continue to rise, and more threads about how awful this games inflation is…

Scales drop quite a bit from krait. Claws drop like rain from destroyers, so mt maelstrom is the place for that. Grawl do drop them sometimes as well so frostgorge is another good place for em. Mind you I’m talking about T5 for promotion. T6 are best foundnin Or or fractals

well my legendary hunt just got a heck of a lot easier thanks to tequatlol!

- If you have a surplus of Laurel, you can sell them for tier 6 crafting bag that each give you 3 random tier 6.
- Some tier 5 can be transform in tier 6 with profit. But not all of them at all time. The market fluctuate, check it out before you do it. Sometime you win with that, sometime you are better to sell them.
- Champion bags can give you a good amount. Right now, the chest farm in the new map Silverwaste is probably the best way to do that (but it will be nerf soon, i’m sure).

I’m in a similar boat. At this point been using laurels for mats. Sell the ones I already have 250 of and use that money to buy the ones I still need. You lose a little bit of money, but the cost is pennies compared to just buying them outright.

Sorry, but pursuing a Legendary without having the Precursor (and being broke by your own admission) is just a recipe for frustration….good luck to you.

I did it…it wasn’t too frustrating, and actually worked out rather well.
