Hello, guys!
I’m playing WvW and only WvW for a few month already and i do not feel any critical lack of gold ones in a while. But i heard recently that ppl making 30-35g per evening. I personaly feel i get less than that, even playing guard and necro, so i just wanted to ask maybe i just misuse the loot that i get.
I salvage all blues and greens to impruve my MF, it’s about 137% now.
I sell all yellow and exotic on BLTC.
I open all loot bags.
I sell all mats (exept one needed for superior seige) on BLTC.

So what do i do wrong? Maybe selling staff is more profitable than salvaging or visa versa – i should salvage yellow too? Or put it in Mystic forge?
How much MF do i need, should i stope or aime to hit 150% or 200% or push it too 300%?
Any advise here will be greatly appreciated.

ps: my goal is not earning big money as it is, but since i enjoy WvW so much and play it alot i want to optimize my profit.

You are taking a very high standard to compare.
I play almost exclusively PvE and I’m not sure if I can make 30~35g in a week, even less in an evening.
People that make good amount of gold play the TP, and you can do that from WvW, also try to get all the materials from nodes when you are roaming, specially in the EB and iron/platinum in the BL maps, salvage all the light armors you get, cloth materials are in a quite high price.

I used to earn 10-20 gold per guild raid in wvw. That’s in about 3-4 hours of playing.
Regarding selling and salvaging, I did everything the same as you.

Don’t know if you are in a wvw guild or following the commander, that might be the difference since commanders also spend alot of time building siege, repairing etc.

I do AC 1&3, SE1, CoF 1 and HotW 1 daily and this gets me ~7-8g in solid cash. Transforming dungeon tokens into cash also adds a bit to that amount, but not overly much. I would imagine people who run more dungeons can get more, but to get to 35g per day through PvE… That seems a bit much. Even if you craft all ascended mats and sell them, the proffit from that is not what it used to be.

You can get more gold if you have lucky drops, but that does not happen so often.

I think you do the best you can do atm with the drops that you get. But you might want to consider transforming your (probably) huge WvW-earned karma wallet into cash, if you want more shinies.

I’m a pure pug so i mostly blob with pug commander or scout towers. But while blobbing i get kitten loads of loot. I know that PvE may give much more money but i have zero interest in PvE ^^
Can anyone please specify how can i transform my karma into gold?

That simplest way would be Lost Orrian Jewelry boxes but you are never going to match what a gold farmer can make without being one yourself(well aside from being a TP trader I guess but that can require substantial starting capital and risk)

That is a brick ton of gold to make in one evening of WvW play. Most greens sell for 2s and most blues for 1s so you would have to be pulling a couple thousand of those an hour which seems almost impossible to me. 2g an hour in WvW is a pretty good rate for me. Maybe in higher tiers running with a great guild nets that but the inventory management alone must be staggering.

The best I have seen is from certain events when farmed but I make most of my money on the trading post buying low and selling high. It isn’t quick but it is sustained and happens without me having to put in a lot of grind.

I don’t see how Lost Orrian Jewelry boxes get you gold. I’ve opened loads of those and usually get more karma, obsidian shards (non-sellable), TONS of unidentifiable (and veritbaly worthless) objects, and very, very, very few lodestones. Once I got a mini that is also non-sellable. Save your karma and don’t use it on these boxes.

ETA: Maybe someone could make big gold in WvW if they’re on a T1, very large server, on a reset night and stay there for like 6-7 hours. On my server, there’s no way, EVER, I’d make even close to that.

almost exclusively pve and you cant make 35g per week? pfff i make 11-13g per day in like 2h orso from pve and im a hardcore wvwer lol

I dont know how people make that kinda money in wvw in one evening tbh, i play since 21 pm to about 3am and make maybe 3g orso ( i salvage anything that is not exotic) I also enjoy wvw very much, but as my guild raid starts only at about 21 pm i usually log in 3h orso sooner and do some dungeons runs ( AC and CoF all paths) that nets me about 11 to 13g ( yes in about 2h orso) taking that in account and that 1 week has 7 day..u do the math. But its up to you..if you hate pve maybe someone else here can tell u and me both how they make so much gold in 1 evening wvwing

the orrian chests are good in you buy them in large amounts, for example if you got 4m karma laying around :P u get lodestones from em witch are what everybody wants to get from em, especially charged lodestons that are each 2g and some silver on tp atm

I think lodestones in orrian boxes are too rare. Better to kill mobs in high level zones or champ train for charged cores which you can use MF to turn into charged lodestones
Plus you get lots of other materials to sell also.

All that said it seems the OP thinks someone can make 35g in one night in WvW and i would love to see proof that would even be possible because i call BS on that. 35g in PvE yes. Not WvW.
