Q:
super skins
A:
If you want to do investments like this, the name of the game is KEEP COOL.
This is one of the nicer ways to make money in this game, but you need money to start with so you can invest.
Make sure you buy the stuff when it’s at its lowest. For example, buying the Holo Dragon Wing covers at 17g was a bad investment IMO because it came too late; I bought a few when they were 5g, towards the end of that LS event. Sold for 4 times that much after taxes, so a decent proffit. I was sorry I did not buy more at the time, but you never know how these things go. Now I have a nice amount of the Wintersday ascended recipies, waiting for price to go up a bit more.
You should also be prepared to lose money, especially while you’re learning the ropes. I am still sitting on 10 stacks of orichalcum which I bought at ~13g per and which will probably never go that up again. Ah, well, they will be useful for legendaries and other shinies.
Don’t be too greedy. It happens for an item that has potential to go up more, but it suddenly plummets due to various circumstances. If you get several times the value you put in, sell. You made your proffit and you are avoiding the risks. It may go up, but you don’t have to worry about it anymore.
And, above all, keep calm and don’t panic sell.

Do u think the super skins are currently a good investment.
So I have the super sword 21 gold at the time and shortbow 29 gold at the time on my thief.
Today i bought the rifle 49 gold, and axe 45 gold, do u think I will make much profit in the coming months. Theres 12 of one available and 30 of the other
It will be a gamble. It is expected that the super adventure box will return. If it does, it is to be expected that the old skins can still be earned (and the addition of new skins).
At the moment that a new adventure box is announced I expect the skin to drop in price dramatically. Cause you never know when it is going to happen it is a gamble.

I’m actually terrible at these type of situations. I think my last major investment was with those holgraphic dragon wings from a few months ago. I bought out like 4 of them for arnd 17-21g and then panicked because when the LS ended they were selling at like 9g for a month or two.. so I sold them coz they were taking up bag space and I ended up losing close to 50 gold. I’ve never really tried to play the TP after that coz I realized I kinda suck at it.. though now they are selling for 30g each so.. go figure :C
It will probably be a gamble though but laerning from my mistake, it will probably be a few months before u can expect to make any profit off it. You can also check out gw2spidy to see what the trends in prices for ur items are. For instance it looks like u bought the rifle skin at near-peak price so u probly wont make a huge profit

Thanks for your answers, I plan to hold on for about 6 months then I’ll prob panic sell
SAB v2 arrived with new weapon skins. I expect whatever new stuff SAB3 brings will be highly priced and trump older stuff in terms of desirability. But it’s all a crap shoot.

Maybe 6 months might be a bit much if they keep the release cadence, the first SAB was released in april, second one in september, 5 months later and 4 months ago. That said, I feel it’s highly unlikely for them to release it at least until after the LS is wrapped up (personally I have a hunch it’ll come back around april to mark the 1 year anniversary of SAB)
Also it’s a bit of a gamble, if the skins do come back, then their price will go down (you might want to hold on to them until it goes away again), and even if they don’t, the new colors will be available if a new world is released.
That said, take all that with a ton of salt, I’ve only done the speculation game once and didn’t end up making that much money so I’ve never really tried it again.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Loco, you are right that is a lot of a gamble. Thing is, when the next SAB is announced, given the fact that the skins from SAB1 where repeated during SAB2 (including new ones as well), it is likely to drop when the SAB3 is announced. People just gonna wait for it. Only if theSAB skins are not gainable again you see a slow incline afterwards again.
Personally I would say that the current price is a good price to sell, It is not going to rise a lot anymore till the SAB is announced. Then it will sink through the bottom. So in my opinion you better grab the profit now.

The SAB1 skins were not brought back for SAB2, in any way. Not as loot, nor as rewards from Moto. The Tribulation mode weapons (which use the same skins but different colors) were introduced and available during SAB2, but the original blue Super Skins that were released in SAB1 were exclusive to SAB1.
That said, they’re now out of weapons (well, underwater weapons could still be added, but that wouldn’t be very exciting for most people), so its unclear what they’ll do now. Will they introduce something else as a reward instead of weapon skins, like armor skins? Make a new set of weapon skins? Just add underwater weapons despite how underwhelming it’d be? Or will they bring back all of the old weapon skins from SAB1 and SAB2? To that possibility, who knows.
Yeah, they COULD introduce underwater Super weapons, although I think that seems unlikely given the general unpopularity of underwater weapons. Plus, having only 3 new weapon skins (along with presumably Red weapon skins for World 3 Tribulation Mode), would seem like a poor offering for SAB players.
I think it’s more likely that they will bring back all of the old Super weapon skins. Either that, or they introduce an alternative SAB-themed weapon set. (Maybe a SAB armor set?)
