So, this is just a quick list of the “unstoppable” stomps that each class can have. It includes stealth, invulnerability, blinding fields, stability, and distortion. Separated by class, for your convenience. Also, cooldown on thief weapon skills will be initiative cost, as that is the maximum amount of time between ability uses for the thief. Also, I may have missed abilities or been wrong. If I am/have, just politely say so in the comments below.

Edit-Missed Obsidian Flesh and glyph of storms along with necro abilities, already had ranger pet swap (zephyr’s speed), don’t plan to include aegis as it only allows you to prevent downed player interruptions, unlike the rest which stop attacks from multiple sources (blind fields cause projectiles to miss and often make melee interrupts difficult) Also, the quotation makes at the beginning were to note that these were not completely unstoppable, just often difficult to work around. Odd that Signet of the Wild doesn’t allow stomps, removing it. Hide in plain sight was already listed as debatable. Cooldowns are untraited, and reflect stomps are more or less in the same league as aegis, not viable enough in a multi-person fight. Adding portal and shadowstep, as they present ways to avoid interruptions in fights (though the big pink circle can be rather obvious)

The purpose of this list is to give an idea of what each class has access to, since often the difference between winning a multi-person skirmish and losing is who gets the stomp first. In this situation, aegis and reflections don’t help much, as you’ll be easily cc’ed by the enemy’s teammates, while stealthing, stability, quickness, and blind fields can all be used to prevent interruptions while you high five the enemy’s face. I’ve played every class to some degree, and this list isn’t meant to be QQ, as everyone can stomp (except necros, but no one counts them). : P (That last bit was a joke. Seriously.)

Elemetalist also has Obsidian Flesh (5s Invuln, 60s(?) CD, earth focus 5) and Glyph of Storms in earth attunement ticks blindness in ~3s intervals

I can’t wait until ANet releases the game promoted in the manifesto.
Until that, I’ll play GW2.

majority of the skills listed are not “unstoppable”, only ones that grant invulnerability really are. You might not be able to see or interrupt them, but can still bring them down by damaging.

Never the less this is a nice compilation of stomp related skills to be aware of.

+Desperate necro’s will also start a stomp then use thier elite. (Gives them stability)
+Engineers using Flamethrower will wait until they see an interupt animation begin then cast vent fumes i think its called (aoe blind) this does not interupt the stomp
+ Thieves can use shadow step when starting the stomp, then teleport back just as the stomp animation ends
+ Mesmers can use portal to replicate the thieves shadow step stomp
+ Rangers will use thier 5 point trait in beast mastery to get 2 seconds of quickness before a stomp (just switch pets)

You can add “Virtue of Courage” and “Retreat” for Guardians. They both give you Aegis.

So you just have to time it right, and you can block whatever CC they do.

Everything you listed are stoppable stomps actually.

Most interrupts are caused by control effects. As such, the boon stability provides protection against interrupts.

Daze – Disables all skills for a short duration.
Fear – Disables all skills and causes the target to flee directly away from the caster for a short duration.
Knockdown – Knocks the target on ground, preventing movement and actions for a short duration.
Launch – Throws the target in the air over a short distance, preventing movement and actions for a short duration.
Pull – Pulls the target to the caster and disables them for a second.
Push – Pushes the target away and on the ground, preventing movement and actions.
Stun – Prevents movement and actions for a short duration.

For those stomp iwth invul and stability, you can stealth the downed person mitigating the enemy stomp.

Ranger
Signet of the Wild -you cannot stomp with this
Hide in Plain Sight- Applies camouflage when you are dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 30 seconds.,this will usually make u unable to stomp because you chracter will use up 2-3 second to recover from the dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned condition.when u regain control of ur character to stomp,the stealth effect will be gone by then.Stealth last for 3 second only

Not really sure what the point of this thread is other than QQ.

I wouldn’t consider stealth/quickness/blind stomps unstoppable. That’s just player skill issue.

That being said a couple fixes…

  • Elementalists also have Obsidian Flesh, from Earth focus 5. 4 sec Invulnerability, 50 sec CD.
  • If you traited Indomitable Courage (on guard) it’s a 75 sec CD, not 90.

Additionally, Stability stomps are not unstoppable. There are several classes that have access to boon removal.

You Shouldn’t have even posted. Lightning flash, Mesmer teleport, thief shadow step, any teleport is one of the few sure fire ways to stomp and thief on the first try EVERYTIME. Not to mention you can time your teleport just right to Make the knockdown/back/etc miss you if your nice…..EVERYTIME

I may have missed it but Aegis stomp is one. Also engineer can use the shield attacks to carryover on a stomp and block their knockback/down/etc. eng also has a few other unconventional ways

Degrees of unstoppable, a mistform or exlir s is truly unstoppable. ( barring stealthing the person about to be stomped).
But anything that grants stability can be boon stripped-hard to time but good teams manage it sometimes.

And smoke fields dont prevent third parties from interupting. But yes, a handy list to have around of peoples clever ways to stomp.

Flame turret and smoke bomb are the slowest ticking fields in the game. They are not able to stomp anyone competent except under incredibly lucky circumstances. And to the poster above the engi shield is removed in one hit while stomping someone. All a downed player has to do is break it then interrupt.

Well of darkness is far better for blind stomps as it ticks every second.

mesmers can stomp using chaos storm for RNG aegis, but it takes a bit of luck.

Also, projectile reflects work on engi/warrior stomps. Nothing like getting wall of reflection stomped.

And while we’re at it

Projectile reflects work on engis and warriors

2 people stomping works on engis, warriors, and necros

Stability/blind/invuln stomping works on engis, warriors, necros, guards and rangers

Stealth stomping works on engis, warriors, necros, and mesmers (engis/wars can still throw their respective projectiles)(not sure if a ranger needs a target for his downed 2)

Shadowstep stomps work on engis, warriors, necros, guards, rangers, thieves and eles/mesmers situationally (outrange necros and rangers)

blink stomps work on thieves and mesmers/eles situationally (start the stomp before vapor form/decption then teleport to the player)

That’s “unstopable” stomps, not unstopable. It’s a nice base to think about differences between classes. Thanks for it.
Also, you should add, as mention before, Plague and Lich stomps. I think, that’s only viable stomp necro has atm.

There will be flame war over this thread, because of elementalists, engis and mesmers, who love their “god mode” stomp, because it shows, they are prepared better for stomping.

You can but its really difficult, I can only do it like 20% of the time. Trying to get a recording of it for youtube but have not been successful yet. But it is possible and it does the animation while in Lich, pretty funny.
