Anet: Please help the R2 not be so bad!
If rank should be shown, it should only be team visible so the enemies don’t build a strategy on picking on the newbie. In addition buff the punishment for leavers/afkers because that will happen if you are on a team with people who are jerks and don’t want to help others learn.

sPvP Rank Dragon – 8 Champ Titles – Ruby Division
The reason people don’t zone in until the end is because some people switch class based on enemy team comp….waiting to go in makes this harder to do. Anet should disallow char swapping once the queue pops IMO….then they could force people in and then we would have time to discuss a strategy.
that is an awefull idea…
Because:
1.) There are players that dont like to be afk while they wait for matchups, therefore they log to another char and go pve, hj or maybe even wvw.
2.) If i play for example thief and my 4 team mates are also thiefs, than i would like to swap my character to have at least a chance.
I rather hate the ppl that dont enter matches in time, because the same that is true for the opponent team is true for your team. Lets say you run bunker guard, but could relog to hambow war. Noone enters in your team. And then right before start your team enters: 2 more bunker guards… awesome? rather not
EDIT: okay my first poit is invalid, just saw you wrote “after queue pops up”… still a bad idea!

How do we get these R2 players to not be so bad though?
10 – 20 matches is barely enough for them to even enter soloQ. Ranks also don’t reflect a person’s personal skill level due to all that Skyhammer farming. Some kids think that by putting a Ransacker title or Champ Legionnaire title means that they know how to apply good rotations, help allies to peel, who to apply pressure on.
Just ask the Warrior that made a troll thread about Warriors being OP. Makes a troll video about Warriors being a brainless class to play, plays games without brain switched on anyway.
I feel like if they were better familiarized with the gametype and maps then they wouldnt be so bad… Upon further thinking i couldnt even think of one thing there is in the HotM to help give them an introduction to spvp. (Hot-joins? forget about it)
Actually with the introduction of skills having to be unlocked to be used it kind of forces people to play a bit before going tourney.
…. that or if they still have the option they will probably go in with nothing but a heal skill equipped xD

My concern is that with the new update offering gold, these new players will not care to take the time to learn the gametype/ maps. Population increase is great! Having to play with these new players is not, especially when there is nothing in place to teach them/ learn the ropes.
