Boon to Condition and Condition to Boon conversion has been standardized and its functionality changed. Skills which convert boons and conditions now randomly select from all boons and conditions on the target instead of taking the last applied.

Why is this being made RNG? Why not give us more active control instead of “cast it and hope for the best lol”

This is just stupid, especially with the importance of some boons. Now you at least now what you are going to convert/rip even if the order was not perfect, with the new system you just throw out boon removal and hope you get the right boon.

Another poor choice along with the movement changes and how imbalanced some of the traits are looking. The patch is shaping up to be a real disaster.

It’s not just necro (though I admit this one will feel it the hardest with the addition of resistance and every necro removal skill applies conditions as well), thiefs and mesmer are hit hard as well because they have some skills that apply cc or conditions when they remove a boon, so it’s gambling if the secondary ability of your skill is going to work.

It’s not that it’s just they want to streamline things, but don’t dare t make a meaning full decision. Boon/condi removal behaved very different from skill to skill, so they want to make sure the user was confused, so they made all the skills the same, but if they want to do that they had to choose an order but the situations and skill are so varied they couldn’t find a good ordering (+ plus giving an order on all skills could discriminate some classes). So they made it rng (which is the worst they could have done in my opinion).
it’s actually a good change to boon removal and corruption. usually stability is on low priority, now it’s on an equal chance with the other boons.
For corrupting stability this is indeed a good case, especially for Necro skills. I remember Corrupt boon, 29/30 times not converting Stability if enemy had more then 5 boons. Not really nice i’d say. Of course if for instance you hate protection, and priority was high and past and isn’t now, that might be a slight nerf. Overall, I wanna play with this update first before i dislike it.
One problem though is there will be more boons in future. 9 will become at least 11. (Quickness and resistance). That means less chance to corrupt stability (or any specific boon) with same skill. That might be problem. Maybe some skill (to be viable) will need cool down reduction or 1 more corruption in the same skill.

I suppose for necro’s it’s better looking at it, swiftness and protection were always high in the priority list and focus was alread random so it’s not that bad, but removing 25 stacks with 100% guarantuee is lost as well.
I do love the equal treatments off converted conditions since they all follow corrupt boon which was the strongest one.
I’m not entirely sure about Chill to Resistance conversion. Isn’kitten bit too strong boon for it?

Should have just been first in last out: with a change to boon/condi displays that show the correct order that they’re in so players can make informed decisions.
That way skillful play shows up in the form of cover boons and conditions.

But it is worth saying that conditions are simply too prevalent, especially when almost every AA has condis on them.
