In your experiences, which class in s/tpvp generally makes the rudest remarks when they defeat you/you defeat them? Personally, I find that thieves are just trolly as all hell and it seems they go out of their way to make other players feel bad, on the other end of the spectrum, as a thief, I find that its between warriors and rangers that give me the most hate when I kill them for being at an and I quote “unfair disadvantage” in proper eloquent talk with minimal cursing-_-

Thieves, by far, are the worst. After that, I’d say Warriors. It seems that the 1 button auto-win classes are attractive to players that like to troll. And they do seem to go out of their way to do that, too.

I was about to say the same. There are some pretty nasty things I can recall, all of which came from thief & warrior players.

Just last night I was in a match where I roll up to the temple point to help cap, there’s some warrior getting dropped by my teammate. Next thing ya know, he’s going off; naming calling and saying how lucky they were because backup (me) showed up.

Thieves and thief haters.

I actually think the majority of the raging thief players are actually thief haters because they generally rage when i stomp them after their flawless hs spam strategy backfired and i tracked them through stealth with my auto attacks.

I have this friend who loved ganking in Warcraft. He’d be at it for hours. His motto was : why play pve? NPC’s don’t care if you kill em!

I think that is the mindset of griefers. Rest assured that his behavior spilled over in real life. He actually IS a bit of a kitten but only if he can get away with it.
It says a lot about your character if you find pleasure in other people’s grief. Especially in an anonymous game. I just think of him when there’s someone laughing over my corpse. And I learnt not to get wound up even the slightest.

I think a lot of the thieves smack-talk has a lot to do with RP.
Or, perhaps we (as in, myself and all my other Thief friends) are mostly populated by the weakest kind of MMO player — the FotM reroller.
Personally, I play thief because it is the first archtype I ever chose for an MMO and, having yet to reach 80, am confined by my own nostalgic desire to max him out before anything else.

As far as legitimate rudeness?
I’m going to have to go with Guardians. For real, who put those white & gold soulja boys on their high horses?
Contrary to popular belief, a group does NOT need 5 Guards to be effective.
My class is not useless, some of its players are.
But it doesn’t mean those light-worshippers can point their unscarred fingers every time they get their anus inverted.

Sometimes when i kill a thief they’ll rage about “stupid tank classes”, i even had one who switched to his mesmer and came looking for me, i beat him on his mesmer too, then he just got his guildies to gank me so i left the map.

Some people aren’t happy unless they can win every engagement, these people will pick thieves, mesmers and eles as they are the easiest/strongest. That’s not to say all the ppl who play these classes are like this, most aren’t.

I’ve actually never had a problem with warriors trash talking etc, though you can tell that when you kill certain players they come after you like a homing missile for the rest of the game (usually to their detriment, and the detriment of their team) and warriors are most often the class that will do this in my experience, followed closely by people who play the same class as you – for obvious reasons.

Anyone can be rude and mad, dont think it matters on class, they could reroll and still be the same lol

Thieves by far lol. I got accussed and personally offended so many times by raging thief players i got used to it. It’s probably the most entertaining part of the game. They seem to be the rudest here on the forum as well. We could discuss about the psicology behind this…i have my opinions tbh but i don’t wanna be banned ahah.
They are not all like that ofc. A friend of mine has played a thief since launch and he’s a really quiet guy.

I personally do this on purpose.

Why?

Because I avidly look for 1v1s (most of which, I either win or can escape from) and when I lose one (as in, actually getting stomped) it means that player outperformed me. Being a self-imposed elitist, I feel it is necessary to continue fighting such opponents, and learn to counter them / get on their level.

I’m not inclined to fit myself to the mould of earning some arbitrary glory value that can buy me things that wont change my performance.
I mean, I wanna look cool, too.
But I’d rather be able to beat out my opposition than look nice while I’m getting stomped.

I’ve seen players of all professions, though generally they don’t like thieves.
Other then that common link, there really is no trend.

Thieves, hands down.

Though I must say, as a Mesmer Ive gotten quite a few rude messages either in a whisper or blatantly in map chat. My response tends to be “I’ve got no beef with you, and plenty of people can beat me. Don’t blame an entire class for your incompetence.”

… Its surprisingly humbling. I’ve actually received a couple apologies and made a few friends from people who I refused to stoop down to their trolling levels. Its as if people automatically have their trollface-masks on until they realize you’re not akittenz. Then sometimes they’ll become respectable people.

as a thief myself, every other class who take more than 20 secs to kill me while i try to survive them kiting with every single stuff i have.
usually they offend in “say chat”. probably it seems they are great.

btw it is difficult i play spvp. i have found these kind of players in tpvp.-

For me it just seems to be the class I’m playing, I mainly play guardian but when I’m bored I play a BS thief for fun (in no way am i good at it) people tend to get mad at me, one guy got so mad he changed to his guard and killed me and taunted me then decided to stand next to his mesmer guildy telling me to come fight him. It’s fun tho so I don’t mind.

Thiefs usually, but the rudest individual player ive met was an engy.
