Anybody explain to me why every mesmer ive met today has been able to blow me up in 2-5seconds today? ive not had any problems with mesmers recently now every mesmer seems to be god tier

Thats all the details I have.. every mesmer ive seen today I just die in seconds.
If i knew details on it I wouldnt be confused as to why I’m suddenly being insta gibbed by every mesmer

Turret engies, shatter/condi mesmers and Thieves are meta in pvp now.

I recommend to generate a new chat tab purely for damage taken. That information would be useful for us. We have no clue what happened to you.

They could have introduced a new bug I am unaware of (we already such a chase, when they AI damage got accidentally increased in a patch).

they were probably standard 4 4 0 0 6 shatter mesmers and you ate all the burst including izerk, mirror blade AND shatter…guess you just met stupid condi mesmers till now so you were used to them being pretty much harmless

welcome to l2dodge shatter world…once you dodge izerk, mirror blade and shatter combo you just need some condis (Just some…shatter mes has no condi removal at all) or any thief to bring them down

It is not recent a buff. It is a problem that hapens for months/years. Stealth>sumon 3 clones→ melee instacast F1→ profit.

And people QQ about ranger been easy to play and bursting too fast. For a zerker build with a lot of offensive traits 2ranged mesmer has way too many immunes/evades and blinks. Luckly thieves are still around to counter their infinity blinks with infinite gap closers.

You get killed in a few seconds, but how is this related to stealth?

I think you misunderstand the term stealth buff.. I dont mean a buff to stealth
i mean as in there was a sneaky buff under the radar to something

Evade button is your best friend. Play with him a little.

It is hard to tell what it is that is blowing you up, as there weren’t any stealth changes as far as I know. It would help if you did as Teutos suggested and made a chat tab for incoming damage. This would help us diagnose what your opponent is doing and offer suggestions to avoid it.

no there hasn’t been a stealth buff to mesmers. Chances are you just fought a few good shatter mesmers .

Lmao the standard shatter mes has one maybe two stealths, and a good one never opens with them. Double ranged shatter exists because mes cannot survive melee right now.

You don’t know what shatter mesmer is, meaning that you don’t know what the meta builds are, i.e. you lack foundational PvP knowledge.

I never said I didnt know what shatter mesmer was what I’m saiyng is I never had any issue dealing with them previously.

How do you normally deal with shatter mesmer and what did you do against these shatter mesmers?

There are very few good shatter mesmers , most of them suck. It maybe that your mmr got better and you are getting matched with the good ones now. The difference between a good shatter mesmer and a bad one is HUGE. A good one will melt you if you are not careful a bad one is just free kill 9/10 times. Shatter takes a lot of practice to get good , you have to setup the shatter right and more important shatter mesmers are made of glass so you’ll have to be real good at blink, stealth, los and all that jazz so you don’t get melted yourself.

I didn’t say anything about thieves killing mesmers, so I don’t know why you’re bringing up counters. I was targeting what you said about mesmers having too much stealth considering their kiting potential, when it doesn’t even have nearly as much stealth or kiting potential as a thief. Why don’t you complain about thief instead?

The best answer I can give you with your minimal detail and info, is that up until recently you only fight noobs in Rank battle. Recently those noobs either quit or go do something else, so you’re finally match against some real high level mesmer in rank que. If you previously only fight noobs, it is very natural to get stomped completely by good zerk mesmer when you face them. Before you adapt and get better, we cannot help you.

Maybe try to play an easier build that can deal with zerk mesmer more easily?

These ‘stealth buffs’ (usually accidents) have happened, so I wouldn’t be surprised. However it is more likely that you are fighting better shatter mesmers with good timing on their spikes. As mentioned, analyzing the combat log is probably the only way to know for sure.

Ignore the trolls who are flaming you, I think they didn’t understand your question or are trying to defend something.

There have been no buffs to Mesmer for a while – its likely you just fought some better ones.

@ xDudisx: Another exaggeration. You have to go 3 pts into Illusions (generally for shatter specs) to get the illusion CD trait. There are PLENTY of specs/mesmers that don’t have this trait.

On the subject of stealth, let’s not forget that Rangers using LB have stealth on 12 second cooldown.

I play a Mesmer and I would like to make an attempt at answering your question…

First of all… no Mesmers did not get buffed. Personally I think they need a buff, but that is another topic altogether.

The Mesmers you played against in the past were probably not very good. It takes a lot of practice to execute a proper shatter combo against a decent player or a bad player paying attention.

Good Mesmers are in the minority and you were unfortunate enough to face a few decent ones recently.

That is the only logical explanation I could think of to explain your current dilemma.

It is hard to tell what it is that is blowing you up, as there weren’t any stealth changes as far as I know. It would help if you did as Teutos suggested and made a chat tab for incoming damage. This would help us diagnose what your opponent is doing and offer suggestions to avoid it.

Okay @OP no you didn’t miss a stealth buff, there are very few good mesmers in the game that can get a good shatter combo off (i don’t count myself in those ranks.) And chances are you faced one of them. Or they got the perfect halting strike combo off on you a couple of times

Ranger stealth only procs if the arrow hits the enemy it can be blocked, reflected, LoS, evaded, etc.

Mesmer was, is and it will be strong in good hands. That’s why we have thieves.

What class are you playing?
What type of build are you using?
If you don’t want to share your build, what weapons?

Funny. I see 0 d/d eles not running celestial in pvp, yet half the mesmers I currently see in ranked arenas are condi, CI, or some weird non-meta tanky build that I couldn’t figure out.

You probably just got unlucky with fire/air sigil procs. That can really hit you hard and seems very unfair and out of nowhere you can get spiked out basically.

Well pu mesmer is pretty much like turret engi…you play pu if you can’t play mesmer, those who can play mesmer (Really a few) are not playing pu for sure
