A bad player see’s that he got beat and thinks of numerous excuses to somehow make the defeat less harsh. Such as he or that is too strong or im to weak or a million other things.

A good player see’s that he got beat and thinks of numerous reasons why that happened, thinks of strategies, thinks of a counter. When ever i lose to something i itch at the chance to fight it again, To overcome said obstacle.

A bad player relies on armchair psychology to defend his broken mechanics on the forums.

A good player brings forth his opinion on various issues that he may or may not see as a detriment to the quality of the game.

Good players are warriors since warriors have few gimmicks to rely on, and must rely on skill, and can still manage to win. (Exception for frenzy+100b minute warriors).

Bad players hide behind broken class mechanics, or pretend that broken class mechanics do not exist. Or a combination of both, and still lose to the good warrior player.

Realistically, good/bad is a matter of perception. Just because someone has excellent mechanical skills and wins most of his match-ups doesn’t mean he’s going to find solutions to problems. Likewise, I’m a baddie, but I still attempt to overcome obstacles. You may call me a better player than the other guy, because I can adapt, but someone else will see him as better simply because he’s stomping me repeatedly.

Just saying. Don’t try to bring psychology into it, or label it as good/bad. The necessary action it to adapt and adjust, but whether someone does or not doesn’t mean they are good or bad.

These threads are stupid.

Much better than the rest of the content.

I get told that I blame myself too much when we lose or something doesn’t go right. Even if we win the gold, if something didn’t go as planned, I want to talk it over and figure out how to improve.

Good players realize you cant win them all and that there is always somebody whos better at pvp. They strive to do their best but accept defeats when they happen and try to grow.

Bad players QQ about everything they cant beat.

Great players use team work and realize a fist almost always beats a finger.

and the best players realize its just a game.

Good players have logical sense and know when something is broken or unbalance, that its yust time to look at the numbers, look up the facts and present them to the devs or yust find an counter for it.

Bad players rage why noone has been nerfed yet even though even the developers dont have all the facts yet and its mostly based on people not able to look further then their own character.

The complains about class balancing isn’t a matter of skill, it is a fact. Of course good players know how to counter and dealing with these gimmick professions, but they can’t negate they are plain broken.
I think that no very good player have enormous problems dealing with Mesmers/Thieves/Guardians, but the point is that almost no skill is required to play these professions effectively and to be competitive with. In a situation of perfect balance, the skill is the only factor who matters in a battle’s outcome, but I think that now, in Guild Wars 2’s PvP, it’s not the case. If you don’t see this, you are either stupid, biased or a troll.

Want an example? In Guild Wars, there was some meta builds in PvP (IWAY, Sway, rspike) which were always countered by a good balanced team and they of course had their weaknesses, but they were nerfed anyway because they required almost no skill to be effective. That’s the whole point of balance, if you don’t get it, just don’t talk about it.

I agree, but those builds will always exist and it will take some time for ANet to find a way to nerf them but not to completely take them out of the game. Those builds were around for like 2 or more months before anything was done. So there will always be a build that is way easier to play and will be abused by most players so you will have to find a way to counter it. Constantly whining about it won’t help btw. (<- this is not directed at you! just to make sure you don’t take it the wrong way )

Survival of the fittest. Bads can’t adapt, good ones do. Therefore good players survive and progress, bads stay simple minded.

I don’t consider myself anyone to get a kitten about but in LoL’s logic of 1900 players; “if I don’t carry, I at least don’t feed.” I go by those standards.

Since people are negative about nerfs, how about we buff to balance then?

While this is true some times. But not all the time.

And what if there is no counter? Many things in this game are broken, so a given Prof does not in fact have a means of countering them. The only way to counter it is to roll a different Prof.

An observant player knows you cannot counter everything at all times.

It seems a lot of players want to be everything at once without giving something up, which feeds this negative thought process of “I’m underpowered, you’re overpowered.”

I’m terrible at this game. I flat out stink, but whenever I play as a mesmer and spawn a bunch of clones of myself I wreck people. If I play any other class and any other build I’m pretty much preparing for a complete kitten kicking. I can say as somebody playing an OP profession, not complaining, that things need balanced.

My (probably accurate) interpretation of OP:
“If you are complaining about certain abilities/classes/builds in game it’s cause you’re a BADDIE. BAD BAD BAD. L2P etc. Any actual pro player would just shut up and find a counter.”

Not like I haven’t seen this same essential argument 100s of times in other mmos. Admittedly in other games balance has been worse and these comments more amusing.

I don’t really care, particularly since I can make a lvl 2 and play in spvp on any class. I just call it like I see it; I would like to do so without hearing same old refrain of “you’re bad”.

Also as for it being ok since the classes are somehow balanced at max skill cap. So what? Are most players at max skill cap? There’s a concept called efficiency: why would I roll class X when class Y can fulfill the same goal more easily, even when I’m bad, and as I improve it will always remain more effective till eventually the power lvl is the same.
