Has anyone reached rank 80 yet? I don’t play the game anymore but I’d still like to see the finisher whenever someone reaches it.

No.
Rank 80 is unreasonable for any human being in 2 years.
Rank 79 is 750k rank points.
Rank 70-78 is 450k each.
In comparison, if you reached Bear rank, you need approximately 8.5x rank points of whose you’ve already earned.
If you are Phoenix, you need 2.5x rank points to reach Dragon.

I thought there were people pass 71. Unless they were Skyhammer farmers, and got ban or something.

I´m still 69 at 1/3, now busy with exams and other rl interests

What really boggles me, is considering how easy it is to get a character to max level in PvE, why is the highest rank so ridiculous? Since the rewards are simply cosmetic, I really don’t get it.

And as we have seen, people dont stop playing this game once they hit the max,

the only thing I can think of, is because pvp rank is account bound and not character bound….but why not make them character bound? I’d be fine with having a R80 necro and a r30 engineer

But there are people running around with rank 69 i never heard of and this it what drives me crazy.

Yes thx to awsome ideas from devs ppl easly farmed ranks , some ppl were working kitten thier rank since realese , then anet make a patch and 1 month later 90% of ppl is runing rank 50 GJ ANET.

You forgot Ostrich eggs and Karmy in that list, and Im pretty sure Mini Ken (or cymerdown) hasn’t gotten to 70 yet.

Also another person to hit it today or this week at least should be Marvin on NA

We should have the option to preview the finishers in game the same like for items.

Rank grinding is no fun at all…I stopped caring when I hit 50 to get the CoF set. Pretty sure I would be 70 if I continued to grind.

It´s completely false information.
There is a group of some players standing r 71, but nothing higher than this, as it is time-constraint unviable.

Sometimes kids claim attention by stating they have seen a pig flying above the sky, but that doesn´t mean what they said is true.

The highest rank was 205 during the live stream!

Since there’s a red response in here, can someone confirm the total points needed to reach rank 80? Wiki says 8.9m, but that seems to imply you need to finish r80 not just reach it…

Also, regardless of it being 8.9m or 8.2m, it takes more rank to go from 70 to 80 than it takes to go from 1 to 70. So the people who have hit 70 have a long way to go… even with the improved rewards.

Karmy has been rank 70 for like a month already…

you can watch them all on youtube except dragonfinisher. The r80 dragon finisher isn’t designed yet.

Its been developed internally already months ago (finisher dragon)

Gaining a level increases your stats in PvE. PvP rank is purely cosmetic as well. It used to correlate the amount of time spent in PvP but skyhammer farming removed that.

I’m 395/450 atm. I’ll hit Moltres today or tomorrow. Ken and 5gauge are close. Jose just hit his Moltres recently.

False! The PvP-Crowd doesn’t enjoy it at all. In GW1 you didn’t even had access to PvE-gear long time. Noone there was grinding for “shinies” . . .
