Duo queue too strong, not enough punishment
First ppl complained about full premades and how it is “unfair”, anet removed it.
Now ppl complaining about duo queue and how “unfair” it is. Maybe anet will remove it too.
Then ppl will complain that they cannot win against stronger opponents so anet replaces them with bots.
Everyone will be legendary and top-1, yay \o/

As I’ve said, duo queue is fine. But you don’t get punished hard enough for the advantages it provides from what I’ve seen.
Anet will moderate a player’s network history to discover habbits of interest to use in matchmaking’s algorithm.

But it is very minor and should be ignored for overall health and growth of the game.
We now have a working , ingame visible ranking system.
The esport pros have to organize skrims to compete for money.
The high mid end now has incentive to play and improve. EVERY TEAM STARTS WITH A DUO OR TRIO. The ammount of friend requests, poeple actualy grouping AND tryharding has increased enormously.
All this positives faaaaar outweight “the overall 3% higher winrate per teammate that anet once mentioned”.
If you had to choose between incentive for poeple to group up and learn to play better together VS. you having 3% higher MMR in a pure soloq salt que…

You’re right, but at the same time you’re wrong. Your points about it being healthy and overall growth of the PvP scene is very accurate and this new system is bringing lots of attention to PvP which is incredible.
But at the same time, this is suppose to be a competitive scene where people show off their skills in ranked and it should be reflected based on the ranked mode you choose.
It is true that if duo queuing gets more punishment, it will discourage the average Joe to queue up with their friends. But at the same time I feel the punishment should reflect the max potential of advantages it can provide to have a balanced ranked environment between solo and duo queue.

Its true that there is no real skill test without pure solo queue. Those who queue solo are still punished alot. But it doesnt matter. Duo is needed.

duo q is def better than solo but im ok with it. Heck this is meant to be a social game. They already got rid of team q (which I think is a good move for a casual game) but to ask for no duo or to punish duo is wrong.

Another argument that may cheer you up:
A duo can only win 1 node at a time. You choose either coordinated focus vs coordinated map rotation. A trio is needed to dominate 2/3 of map.
A good compromise could be give more ladder points for win if u’re solo instead of duo (and less points lost if you lose).
Sounds fair to me, more risk, more reward.
