Due to an ongoing bug with Vampirism Runes, we will not be allowing Elementalists to use this runeset in upcoming Go4 Cups, including the one taking place tomorrow. This is due to a bug that was brought to out attention that resets an elementalist’s downstate health while the rune is equipped. We will remove this restriction once the relevant bug has been fixed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Pro Tip: Thief are pretty strong right now, especially with stealth skills, you should role with 5 of them for sure.

ESL should just make it 1 class per player per team. Example: ele, thief, mes, war, gaurd. No dbl ele no triple ele
Leaving GW2 was the best call. GvG has yet to exist and PvP is already dead. This game only targets PvE players to rack money.

I was looking at the rules for the NA cup when I copied that. I’d imagine they’d be consistent regardless.

I don’t like this rule.
Reason: With leagues on the horizon, there are no restrictions with comps when ranking up in the Guild Team Leaderboards. Remember… they will also be using the leaderboards from each competitive season to help determine which teams will receive invitations to higher-tier tournament events.
If my friends and I play a 5 man Necro team and we have some success with it, we should be able to try out for ESL unhindered. There are no restrictions with the Guild Team Leaderboards.
If there are restrictions, bare in mind that there will be many top teams punished because 3 or more of the members (who are all friends) enjoy playing a particular class.
We should not punish player comps due to ArenaNet balance (or lack thereof).
As a matter of fact, I prefer when we have instances of 4-5 man Ele teams because it shines a harsher light on the balancing issues and will prompt the development team to act accordingly.
Obfuscating the glaring balance issue by creating flippant rules will only make matters worse. Because you will fix it in ESL, but the problem will still be running rampant in the ladder throughout the seasons.
Do not put a band-aid on a festering bullet wound.

I’d rather just remove class stacking completely. (Can only have 1 of each class in a team) Would lead to more diverse comps and builds in the games as people would have to create different builds for different roles they may potentially have to fill. But the requirement of at least 3 profs is definitely a step in the right direction.

This completely. If 4 Ele’s couldn’t be used in ESL on a single team then we would have never been able to definitively prove there was a problem.

That would be a bad idea. Anet doesn’t play the game, doesn’t listen to the right players, but they do watch tournaments. If they see that 1 class dominates everything then maybe they’ll do something. It’s our best chance.

Who’s to say what is or isn’t balanced? Take Five D/D eles vs 5 thieves for example. You’d be suprised who’d win and what the end score would be. I can also guarantee you that 5 wars would perform a whole lot less than either comp, while 5 Guards would perform better than the war but not by much.

I have no clue how the Devs percieve game balance. I can guarantee you that, in regards to team comp, they want to remove limitations. That said, I can also guarantee you that this game would be better balanced if each team consisted of only 1 unique class (or build).

Take Five D/D eles vs 5 thieves for example. You’d be suprised who’d win and what the end score would be.
5 eles would win 500-0 as thieves can’t fight on point, what’s surprising about it? Thanks to the ele mobility even outrotating would be hard to do.

This part is a joke, sorry. Can you prevent class stacking? No. Then it should be balanced around class stacking, and it was balanced up until now. None of the other classes can stack 4-5 on a team and be decent – right now eles can, because ele is OP. EDIT: class stacking is fine actually as long as it’s not one of the best options or the same class fills different roles on the comp with different builds. When there is 1 build that’s great at everything and can be stacked there is a problem.
There is nothing to debate about it and no need to get philosophical, ele is broken and it’s a fact.

The rule isn’t even needed, it’s literally just 1 profession they need it for, and they shouldn’t even have to do that if it would just get balanced already.

It’s not a real thing ele is not the only one providing AoE boons and cleansing hell if you try stacking 4 necros you probably would lose vs 4 eles. Until boon hate becomes a reliable and common counter especially in AoE format the bandaid train has no brakes. Same goes for PvE.

It’s a new ESL rule made to keep ele stacking at bay. There is no such role in Ranked and it’s happening, affecting a lot more people.

Are you going to fix Staff skills that works only 50% of the time like Gust and improve the auto attacks of scepter? Staff skills generally needs a speed boost, Scepter needs overall effectiveness increase or range increase for WvW. Churning earth shouldn’t take twice more time than a Killshot to cast to do twice less damage, or 3 times less damage than a shatter.
If you’re going to nerf d/d ele to the ground like you did with Turret engi could you please at least fix the other weapons?

If it is against rules, then how will you be made aware of unbalanced classes? One might argue that seeing 4 on a team made the imbalance undeniably evident. Simply implementing a rule to hide the presence of an unbalanced system will cause is like putting a blindfold on.
Or do you plan on having blatantly imbalanced classes and there will only be 2 of the first tear class, then 2 of the second and 1 of the third? I suppose that’s a valid choice, but not in keeping with the philosphy that all classes should be able to provide something equally vital and effective to a party.
The rule is basically compensating for your balance inadequacies, kind of sloppy design and a poor bandaid fix.
Please address this concern.

If people think elementalist are a faceroll class then they have not tried the new burn guardian builds have they. Actually burn anything! Burn builds are broken right.

Damage (and therefor sustained healing aswell) must be nerfed across the board to be honest.

Reasons are quite obvious since everyone from hj to wts knows that celestial eles are too much ez mode to allow them stacking so much
I wouldn’t even allow two of them considering how gamebreaking they are but then some teams (Like everyone) is probably gonna rage way too much bout this…so they still had to allow double dd comps in…

With proper balance no comp should be viable on any level if stacking 4 ppl running same exact spec…not even same class….let alone actually being able to win an ESL with dat
