Okay to start off with a Elementalist Bunker build is a very very hard spec to play properly, in my opinion it takes timing and knowledge of the proper skills at the proper time. I love this build I currently play this build, with that said I am not calling for a nerf by any means. I would how ever like Arena Net to possibly look into this build.

Here is the build ( keep into consideration I have not optimized the Runes even though I could)

* Air Magic 0
* Earth Magic 10 ( III ) Earths Embrace
* Water Magic 30(V ) Cleansing Wave( III )Soothing Disruption( XI )Cleansing Waters
* Arcane 30 (V) Elemental Attunement (IV) Final Shielding ( IX ) Evasive Arcana
Weapons

  • Dagger (Superior Blood Lust)
  • Dagger ( Superior Life )
  • Superior Rune of the Elementalist for armor
    Utility skills
  • Signet of Restoration * Mist Form * Armor of Earth * Lightning Flash
  • Glyph of Elementals
  • Shamans Amulet

So there is the load out on the Build I run with and many others run with. Like I said this build takes a lot of paying attention and skill to play correctly and effectively. My only issue with this as I play the build myself is it is a Bunker build that does I would say 75% of the damage a Spiker Build can do. I have held down a point against 4 others (4v1) and killed off 3 before one of my teammates came in to help. This process took me roughly about 35 seconds to kill them off.

I am not even really sure how you would manage this ( as far as damage dealing ) as it would I would assume affect other elementalist not using this build, and I don’t want that I just don’t think a Bunker build should have that much raw damage output. If your build is designed to hold a point and live through an onslaught of attackers and live ( and I could be wrong here ) but shouldn’t your ability to kill them with any sort of speed not be there? I mean People have been crying about C&D/ Backstab Thieves and HB warriors being OP, when in reality they are Spiker builds and die very very easy. Just disrupt their chain and you usually win, in Bunker builds case you can’t really kill them ( I mean you can ) but they really can’t do enough raw damage output to kill you either. The Elementalist Bunker build can do the damage and is very very hard to kill and does a good job at holding points and clearing them cause of this.

I am not even sure how one would even this out with out hurting spiker ele builds. So I bring it to the forums where I know I am sure I Will get called names and told bad things to. Although I am only here saying that this in an un balance for PvP, and me playing that build and seeing what it can do I say this. Not standing there on the receiving end of this build but rather being the delivering part of this build.

Anyhow thoughts, suggestions, insight anyone maybe perhaps a Dev comment on this, not that I think it will get one lol but it is open to you guys too

Why don’t you post a video of you beating 4 people in sPvP..actually in tPvP?
Rather than simply dismissing your post as fiction based story, I’d like to see proof of you beating 4 people in sPvP, I’m very curious to see how somebody with little more than 1k Power can claim to reach 75% of the burst potential of specced mesmer/thief/warrior who can deal like 12+k dmg in 3-4s, with these profession still having more than the double of your power…maybe you killed them with your 130 dmg dragon’s claw…

No bunker can stand vs 4 enemies – excpept these 4 ones are lvl1-beginners. I guess it was in hotjoin – but you should know that this is totally different from tpvp.

yes this was in SPvP so I am not saying these were pros, but pros or not the damage output of a build is not determined by the other player. Granted they can use mitigation tools to decrease the damage but the raw out put is what I am talking about.

I was just thinking that a Bunker builds Raw out put should not be that high.

I do not stream video’s nor do I make videos for people to watch not my thing, regardless of weather you believe it is a fiction based story or not I could care less.

Maybe in TPvP it is a lot different and not so much the case, therefore it is not really an issue, but TPvP is not the only place PvP happens.

If you are killing people 1v4 in this game, then they are all probably brand new to sPvP. A friend I have who plays PvE almost exclusively since the game’s release tried PvP the other day and it was quite obvious he had no idea what he was doing.

It can hold 1v4, provided they are also bunkers or just very poorly specced. I’ve killed bunker eles 1v1 when other members of my group have stated they can’t take them down and we’ve had to switch roles.

Builds which can theoretically one shot a profession are in need of even a bigger nerf, when some profession are able to deal over 10k dmg with 2 skills while some profession got a base HP of 10k ..then you ask for troubles.

All I see is people complaining about a profession forced to heavily invest in defense in order to be playable, the funny thing I remember that time when ele players were worried for the low HP of the profession, the answer from other professions was :" Lol noobs you’ve got water heals and remember that you must always invest in toughness to be competitive"..so now what?

2 Months ago, the ele sub-forum was full of people crying on how they were one-shotted by thieves-mesmer..every other profession, in the general forum all you could read was :" Lol when I see an ele, I see a free kill"…now the situation has changed, you see an ele and you start kitten your pants…well deserved

I dont really understand your argument … vengeance or something makes current ele bunker ok, then? Ah who knows but what i would like to see on the next balance patch is minor nerf to burst damage across the board, and moderate nerf to bunker builds. With anet however i expect to see nerf ele, nerf thief, but not necessarily in a way which ends up helping the game overall, hahahaha. Ive seen enough patches to not get my hopes up with this one, either …

Bunker eles are OK, they’re no unkillable by a long shot, they’ve got no CC on short CD, no IWIN elite, no heavy armour and no huge HP bar.
Other people just go there and spamm 1-2-3 and demand to win that way, well the profession is supposed to be versatile and adapt to every threat..but no.

Anet must give you guys a game where you go and press : bull’s rush -frenzy- 100b and people must drop dead at yout feets, if not the target is using an OP profession, same thing for mug-backstab- HS – HS etc etc or swap clones-blurred frenzy – mind wrack

A better question would be why Elementalists are more or less forced into heavy water/arcane builds to perform decently in PVP, to which the answer is approximately: terribly-balanced and buggy traits.

In 3 months, basically nothing has been fixed nor issues addressed either. Fine if they don’t want or don’t know how to balance the game properly, but there is no excuse for the legion of broken traits and abilities to still be unaddressed in quarter of a year when they continue to churn out gear grinds and gimmicky seasonal content.

Priorities. Misplaced. Badly.

Lol dude you are HIGH or something. I run that exact same build in tourneys, and I bunker mid. MY DAMAGE IS LAUGHABLE. Seriously my fire grabs hit for 1.5k on a good hit, my fire auto attack hits for 350 a piece. This spec is not killing anyone fast at all. It’s embarrassingly bad damage wise, but it is amazing at what it does, Holding a point against all the odds. If you are saying you are killing 4 players 4v1 with that build then they are bad. Im blown away right now, are you Seriously saying this bunker build puts out 75% damage of a spike build?? Stop trolling to get the ele nerfed, it’s embarrassing. I can’t even tell you the last time I hit over 2.5k damage on a churning earth or fire grab while bunkering, Let alone popped a 12k ability like 100b, or a 12k cloak and dagger, mug, backstab, heart seeker combo.

Terrible attempt at getting eles nerfed further.

Earth’s Embrace — Function bug
Triggers at around 25-30% HP instead of 50%.

Final Shielding — Function bug
Triggers at around10% instead of 25%. May also be bypassed entirely if too much burst is applied.

1 of them won t trigger afaik……(may be wrong on this…please confirm)

P.S. for non elementalist….those bugs makes both traits 100% useless they won t even trigger or leave you so low on health to be oneshot by anything or by a single tick condition…
The build also hasn t the tools to put out combos…..

Not seen a post on ele subforum but a lot defending thiefs along the board……
And its not the first thief who ask for ele nerfs saying absurdities…..
ELE D/D is counter (not even so strong) to thiefs and few other burst builds, for that we had already lot ppl pretending to use ele (check ALL 3 threads asking nerfs for eles) with similar posts so we can legitimately have doubts…..

GW2 balance:

A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

I was doing this pretty decently today 2v1 and 3v1, until a thief got in. Then I went from feeling awesome to dead in 3 hits. Its just ruining this game for me. I like being rewarded for outplaying people and using my skills / dodges at the correct times. But I blew all utilities to avoid thief initial burst, then just got smacked with it again 4 seconds later. Instant dead. But theives will defend this till the end. Running a 3k+ Armor build with 1k healing power

I just checked this morning while bunkering… My fire grab (one of the els hardest hitting spells) is hitting consistently for 800 damage lol so no I am doing 75% of thieves burst while bunkering. This is a fake post in an attempt to get elementalists beat by a troll, completely obvious by the fact that the OP hasn’t responded to a single post calling him out, he abandoned ship because he was caught in a lie. I’m remembering OPs name and taking what he says with a grain of salt now.

You call that a bunker build? If you are aiming for point control then having mist form will lose you the point, swap it for cleansing fire bro, or something of some use.

Lol I’m all bunker on this toon in tourneys, completely healing power, toughness with some vitality I am all defensive you know to…bunker. I have a 4% Crit chance lol. So no I’m not doing anything wrong 1500 damage in fire grab to a burning target or something like that, without burning its like 856.

No way this can survive vs 3….vs 4 even in hotjoin you’re going to die, because dealing low to no dmg leads to a long fight that vs 4 = death. No bunkers can stand up vs more than 2 ppl knowing what they’re doing for a long time without backup, even if kitten 4 ppl will simply crush you in the long run due to the continuous dmg and rupts and conditions and everything (Maybe they don’t know how to use skills, but spamming them 4vs1 is more than enough) if you can’t kill them no matter if they’re good or not they will slowly “erode” your hp to death..

tl;dr You can’t kill with this…and no, you can’t stand vs 4 ppl either. It’s just another no dmg bunker build.

tl;dr Play guardian…

I randomly came across this thread… and I lolled…. hard. To the OP, the only way you’re going to 4v1 anyone on Elementalist is with a staff up on a castle wall in glass form. -_- To the video posted of the 3v1… Those guys played terrible… and it looked like a ring around the rosie match…. completely cowardice and fighting like that is pointless…. To this last couple messages… 800? 800 dmg on firegrab? I understanding tuning down Ele some.. but that’s far too much tuning down. In glass cannon form Elementalist run 55% critical rate, with high crit dmg and at least 4k+ attack…. The normal fire DD shot alone does 1.2k a piece (x3) … You never go below 22 stacks of might your hp is 20k+ and fire grab does 4-5k dmg +… You’ve tuned a 4-5k hit down to 800…. Hell even lightning auto attack should be around 3k GG bro… that’s waaaay too much defensive tuning for an ele you’re gimping yourself… you’re not a warrior… -_- I’d recommend trading some power for defense but that’s just too much… The best part about eles is being able to 1-2 normal hit Mesmir clones. Makes the effort towards the real one not being able to run around so much easier… at this rate you’re likely to shatter 1 -_- Actually in that video I think the dude didn’t shatter any XD
