This is another good decision by Anet! F2P will bring many new players to try out the awesome combat in this game! But if you want these players to stay, there needs to be more game modes than just conquest and stronghold! What is the point of having great combat if there’s nothing to play! And with the influx of new players, Justin O’Dell’s lame excuse of “fragmenting the existing playerbase” no longer becomes an issue!

Obviously the first game mode to add is 3v3 arena! 3v3 arenas always attract the most competitive and hardcore PvP players, which is definitely what GW2 desperately needs to reignite the tiny, stagnant competitive scene that we have right now! Plus 3v3 arenas are extremely popular, and an actual competitive MMO game type where you don’t have to grind for months for gear? It would be a smash hit!

And then you have the other contenders! CTF is extremely popular but I can’t see how it would work with Anet’s terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible decision to implement immob stacking! Hey that guy took our flag! Let’s just immobilize him forever! Assault/Defend could be a 15v15 WvW castle fight! This game mode was really popular in Tera! 15v15 queues would take 2 minutes compared to the 15 minute 5v5 queues here in GW2! (lol) And it would be popular with the WvW crowd as it takes the fun part of WvW while throwing away the extremely boring parts! Like running! Running for hours!

I’m also not saying to get rid of conquest! Obviously a dedicated few people enjoy conquest! But it would be a real shame if GW2 finally gets some new players only for them to quit soon after because there’s not enough content! And I know Grouch did an esports speech that one Anet dev where he compared GW2’s conquest to LoL’s Summoner’s Rift and how they only have and need one game mode! First they don’t have just one game mode! They have many! More than GW2! And their one competitive map is a decade long tried and true player tested and approved game mode that’s loved by all! GW2, on the other hand, can only muster up a tiny, laughable speck in the esports scene that’s ridiculed every time it’s brought up in other games! Thanks conquest!

Please don’t make this mistake Anet! More game modes please! Wahoo! Bye frands!

Arenas would be nice it would bring WoW players into the game without having them to pay, would be a great tactic from anet if they implement arenas.

4v4 annihilation mode.

just recycle all the random arena maps from gw1 and we’re good to go.

Even wvw gets a new pve-map.. or at least an eotm v2… And not new mapS but 1 new map.. (And don’t forget, pvp got the fantastic Courtyard! And Orb-runner-map! And.. Skyhammer!? )

And the removed Capricorn pirate one too, it was fun. But no, they removed it because of what ? Underwater combat they weren’t willing to balance ? As if “above-water” combat is ! As if these d/d eles and stupid zero counterplay stealthed team opening with an insta gib “moa cc burst” weren’t crippling ALL maps !

Balance team is a bunch of clowns, hurting the game to the full extent of their abilities.

3v3 would be amazing. What GW2 PvP lacks the most imo is the synergy in teamcomps – in conquest you can’t expect 2 or 3 people to stick together 24/7, therefore synergy between builds grow weaker.

In 2v2 or 3v3 annihilation we could finally start creating real team builds and comps!

But CTF would be a waste of rescources, it would fail with GW2’s combat.

2v2’s and 3v3’s are a MUST. the combat is suited perfectly for them. (blast finishers combo fields, projectile finishers ect.)

for 2v2’s = cannot have the same 2 classes. ie no mesmer/mesmer, but rather, ele/mesmer or something

for 3v3’s=can only have 2 of same class. ie no mesmer/mesmer/mesmer, but rather, mesmer/mesmer/guard or something

Could put a leaderboard with team names and stuff. It would bring SO many people from wow over its not even funny, cause really 2v2’s and 3v3’s are the only reason i ever go back to wow.

I agree with this, I played a lot WoW arenas in the past and one of the things I miss a lot is the synergy, being able to to determine a CC chain, when to peel, when to burst, when to play defensive and restart fight, how you can connect with your teammate, the viabilty and ect, the combo system in this game feels like it randomly happens rather than planned.
