Everyone loves getting Glory, but in it’s current state it’s not really rewarding for those who actually want to win their games.
I have found myself in many situations where I had to give up Glory points to help win the match.

Capturing
Capture Points only require 1 person to capture it. But a majority of players rather capture points with 3 or more, even when there is no opponent around.
For example, I have been running way up ahead to a Capture Point to neutralize it as fast as possible to prevent the opposing team from getting any more points, and I notice my team members are following me to ’’help’’ capture it. But when I ask them why they are ’’helping’’ me capture it they respond with: points. And in many situations I decide to make myself more useful and abandon to point and thereby gaining no addition points for making such a decision.

Solution a solution could be giving the lead capper (the one who entered it first) a larger amount of points then those who came in later. One problem with this is that let’s say there was a battle beforehand, whoever entered the Capture Point later he/she still gets a small amount of points while he/she put in the extra effort of fighting over the Capture Point. But this could solved by handing over the normal amount of points if Defender triggered within in ’’xx’’ seconds.

Holding In all honesty, I have seen a lot of players just moving out of the zone when they want to prevent me from capturing it. And because they do so they are losing the point and it becomes mine. But it those who are actually preventing others from taking it over should be rewarded with something.

Solution Those who do so should gain an ’’xx’’ amount of Glory every ’’xx’’ seconds they are able to hold the Capture Point while in combat (while the Capture Point is yours).

Guarding You know about those lonely guys who keep an eye on certain Capture Points to prevent others from capturing it. It’s quite important, but does not reward you. Sadly I currently do not have any idea’s on how to reward those. It’s not smart to let them gain points while they are in capturing zone because it’s not really the best spot to keep watch. The best places to keep watch is to just move out of zone and look for a nearby (high) spot so you have a better view in your area.

These are some of the points that popped into my mind to improve upon, I shall update this thread if anything new comes to mind.

With capturing, a simple solution would just to make capping faster the more players are on a point (why it doesn’t work like this already is entirely beyond me considering how unintuitive it is).

One thing you haven’t mentioned is the lack of a “martyr”-type reward, that is to say, some kind of point reward when you die in the attempt to capture or defend a point. This sort of thing hugely encourages at least making the attempt, which they should – as it is, you’re discouraged from taking any action unless you’re 99% sure you’re going to win.

It’s incredibly demoralizing to distract half a team for 30 seconds while the rest of my own team is off capping the other points and then gain absolutely nothing afterwards for all the effort. I’ve actually contributed more to the team by reducing the pressure on them but get nothing to show for it? Not very nice, that.

This would just incentivize players racing each other point to point rather than staying to cap it. A player could just run to a point, then flee, then run to the next point then flee ignoring capping expecting the other teammate to do the dirty work for them.

I agree wholeheartedly with your other ideas though. I also would add that support builds should be offered a chance to get points as well. If I play a guardian build that focuses on boons, protection and healing I am helping the team succeed but am getting no points for helping others. I know they don’t want the healer aspect of the holy trinity but why have classes with major support abilities if they are not rewarded for playing the game.

I know this is a spvp forums, but the problem with support builds extends to world events as well since the medals only measure dps contributions.
