but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!
There is clearly problems with guardians, and it seems very similar to 2 seasons ago when everyone were playing nec. Now before you say that i am a noob and that i dont know how to evade and kitten, i have played against pro players before and hit legendary twice. Now i havent played much pvp this season, mainly because i am starting to get bored of it, but when half of the playerbase switch to guard its either because it has some kind of flaw in the design, or because it takes no skill to play and it is easy to climb with.
Guardian is so easy to play that is disgusting. Ppl defending it are only no brainer that want an easy win. And they feel pro. Legend is full of unskilled players thanks to easy to play classes like dh nowadays. GG Anet

Or cuz many players like me mained guard since Release.
But after hot i didnt liked the DH …So i switched to the rev….
Now can i play my beloved guardian again and it feels more like a guard cuz i dont need to play with a LB or with many traps.
I have realized over time that rather than calling nerfs on one class address what needs to be nerfed for all classes. It is less biased and more accepted. For example:
Elementalists: Diamond skin is pretty powerful and could be shaved.
Thief: They shouldn’t be able to dodge more than 3 times in a row.
Mesmer: Nerf healing on shatter the defender nerf was perfect.
Revenant: Their weapon swap synced with legend swap into Staff skill 5 after being buffed in assassin stance. It one shots people it could be toned down,
DH: All their skills need to have longer cast times so players can react Test of faith should only proc once per use and spear of justice should be blockable as there is no counter for the pull after it hits.
Druid: Shave the healing big time. More aoe less self healing.
Scrapper: They also need less healing more counter-play for there res would be nice too.Reaper: They have too much aoe condition damage.
Warrior: They do too much condition damage upon interrupting players. They also have too much sustain for their given damage shaving to condition immunity and damage immunity would be nice.
These are issues that need to be fixed. There are things the classes need to balance themselves like necromancer needing more sustain or thief needing more hp. But these are a few pressing issues of many. It isn’t DH alone that is messed up. The whole game favors a button smashing mentality right now.
And that mentality started a long time ago. I don’t agree with the warrior, It can deal a lot of condi, but every class is filled with condi cleanse, besides the reve and the ranger. Therefore it needs the warrior as a counter. It’s a lineback class. It doesn’t deal superior amount of dmg in one sec, and its low mobility allows people to kite away from it and reposition themselves. Warriors’ heal signet is only useful in low dmg fights, where the dmg dealt allows the heal signet to regain itself. If it gets high cleaved, which is what button smashing does, then it needs a “reset” heal, like the other classes.
I don’t understand the problem with the warrior, but maybe because I play it myself and seem to lack the acknowledgement of other peoples thoughts.
I see the warrior at a good position. I dont see it as bad or good.
Warriors dont have mobility, stealth, portals, pulls, high aoe cleave, etc. It has it’s sustain, which will eventually drop if you don’t allow him to take a walk off point and reset himself. It is how it is supposed to be.
Now we ended up discussing warriors.
But I don’t see eles in a bad spot, I might agree with some of the dmg on reve, but I like that it’s like the thief, has a high risk high reward.
The mesmer class just always been weird. I remember once only good people could play the class. Now talented players are forced to play some spam kite bs.
The thing about the druid, is that it’s like the warrior, if it gets focused it will drop. It’s a playstyle I like, which reminds me of gw1, where the monks needed to drop, or atleast get low onskills in order to end team fights.
Reaper have the same issues like they always had, and Anet seem to just give them more dmg, instead of actually trying to fix the low mobility. I imagine some sick movement skills on necro. cite me for this one: A skill called Telepathic Bloodbond that allows to split hp in half. so if x lost 50% hp, y will get 50% hp, and they will teleport to each direction. Nerfing the necros dmg a bit, so it won be able to tackle anyone at the point. But making it as a crazy disengage skill. The downside will be, that if the necro splits his last 5% hp, he kills both his mate and himself by getting a new one on the spot.
This is an idea that I find as a solution, and a new gambreaking advantage.
Where were we?
Warriors don’t have mobility, high aoe cleave and only have just enough sustain….. ha wait..this guy must be Phd..no wonders…
hes right if your talking about condi warrior. but if your talking about power thats a whole diff ball game.
Since when condi wars have low mob, lack of aoe cleave and lack of high sustain?
I don’t think we even play the same game or people have been playing such broken spec that now they’re unable to discern reality from the fantasy world.
Condi wars have passive 25% movement speed, some professions don’t get it and other to get a passive mov speed will lose loads of sustain, dmg or both
Condi wars can slot both LB or sword/torch do you call that lack of aoe pressure? are you trolling me?
Condi wars still use adrenaline health and signet do you call that lack of sustain?…just wft really…
God almighty…..warriors have been spoiled so much by Anet that they really think to be barely viable..instead than completely kittening OP AF
“Warrior and druid are fine because if you focus them they drop” AKA “I play warrior/druid and you need 1+ people to kill me if you’re lucky…I’m balanced”

1v1 Mesmer vs Guardian (at least condi-chrono meta) generally goes to the guardian when a capture point is involved. The points in the maps are small enough that the guardian traps can take up most if not all of the capture point. That makes it impossible for the mesmer to actually fight on the point. Against a DH i’d end up giving up the point to get mobility necessary to fight. The good DHs don’t even blow all their traps in a single shot, they do one then pull you and spam the rest.
In the queues I’ve noticed whatever team has the most guardians wins. This especially goes if the guardians rotate together while the other players defend points until they can get there. Team of 3 DH, 1 mesmer, 1 thief (or 2 of any other class) could sweep any match they come across so long as the DHs are half decent (like winning amber material).

not defending condi warr but its not that black and white:
-25% movement speed is only for melee weapons, most condi builds use longbow. and it cost a trait so its not just for nothing.
-Only longbow is really AOE and torch, Sword/mace is not really
-Power warr use Adrenaline health and HS also (like every warr duh) do you think power warr has that much sustain also?
If warrior is OP like you say, you would have seen more warrior in ESL, correct me if i am wrong but there where none.
Dont get me wrong i think warrior is pretty good balanced (where they could have moved the sustain to multiple traits and not only all into adrenaline health) but its not OP and not Anets baby like you say it is.
Team of 3 DH, 1 mesmer, 1 thief
2DH, mesmer, druid and a invoc rev is the stompiest team comp imo. Roaming death duo in the DH, added mobility and decaps from the mesmer, group babysitter in the druid and rev in case you need to destroy another DH/scrapper/druid on a side node as well as to give the DH much needed swiftness.

I have to agree too, Dh is really cancerous for the game actually. A bad design for a beautifull profession. How we can allow this amount of block with this burst, sustain and CC.
And guys, for those “learn to dodge” to defend the DH, i will answer, we havent 200 dodge per sec and pvp is not a 1v1 but more 2v2 or 3v3 on points.
An example: focus #5 blocks 3 attaks + f3 blocks for 5 sekittenraited + meditation elite immune for 3 sec + another 5sec of f3 + if someone dies with the valor trait "courageous return (30 sec icd) another 5sec of f3 + all the aegis provides by f3, traps or traits + double 4k healing from f2 and your big healing trap.
And that is just a short list of defensive tools that a lot of DH runs.
We can do the same with the cc possibilities.
The last problem is the pvp objectives. Yes we can avoid traps, symbols, we can wait that traps end, but during this time, the dh keep the point safe and controle it! Because of this point capture system, dh is more relevant to win a point because of his static preassure.
Oh i forget, why the couldown of traps begin when the trap is dropped? Because the double traps become hard to just “learn to dodges guys”.
But DH has a weakness! Finally. He can be killed more or less fast by a corrupt reaper with the shout that make his attacks unblockable and also unblockable marks. The only problem for this reaper is that he needs a really huge team cover to survive. In ESL all teams knows that and with this big counter DH is not bring because all team could have a really nice necro and they cover it. Do you think that is it the case in solo queu??? I think not.
Conclusion: it’s not normal to organize all the team to fight a DH. If DH is not OP, why this season we have seen 2-3-4 Dh per teams?
Personnally i have no issue with this classe but i dislike the idea of a less skill high reward classe allowing bad gameplay to climb high divisions.
If the DH just need 1/5 of the skill requiered to master a thief i will say ok dont nerf them. But it’s not the case.
For god Anet, if we are behind a wall or box don’t allow tp!! (Like guard sword #2 or shiro tp, or thief F1)
