Have mediocre teams become extinct? (EU)
You can’t pretend that ANet can do something about how good the other players are to play, making your match more balanced.
ANet can only match up you with other random guys with unranked or ranked arena.
If you find a enemy team with one that don’t know how to play at best it’s class it’s easy to win, the same for your enemy if in your team there’s someone not good to play.
That’s not a ANet problem at all.
But thats ecatly the problem my team is facing too! If we queue as full team we loose (almost) only to ESL teams and crush everything else.
Crush or get crushed!
Before this system came life, matches were much more balanced. Im not saying we didnt get crushed by Rom and others before, but we had a lot of even matches.
And if i queue solo, i ussually end up with ppl being compleately not on my level. Even if the match is then something like 450 to 500 its not very enyojable if i down 3 times the enemy burst ele, 2 times the mesmer and 2 times the thief just to see them get ressed up, cause my team isnt following a single target, but tries 3 times to stomp a thief without dealing any dmg to him….

They CAN solve the problem. This assumption is based on how the old system worked. But the thing we have to realize is, they’ve announced Guild Leaderboards for the expansion so I don’t think we should expect any drastic changes till then. Unless they would be so kind as to rewind to the old System, but I doubt it.

Achieving balance on that regard is very unlikely, not enough players.

It’s way worse, there’s no way to learn how to play in this game.
90% of playerbase is terrible.
I dare say that it is close to extinct… I have played on a few teams, but all of them have been disbanded due to teammates leaving the game because of the slooooow pace of how anet work and balance this game…. There’s no fun with playing the same meta for a year with only minor patches. They need to do balance patches – way often than they do now! They need to see the meta settle and then bang in and shake it up a bit to make things interesting again. As of now I see more people leaving the game than new PvP players…
And worst of all: no tutorial or guidance for new players! This alone pretty much destroy all chances for us to see more PvP players making it through. My friends and I only came to PvP because of friends dragging us in – there was not a single other reason for me to start doing PvP back in the days, and my reasons to stay are fading, unfortunately. :/

What I’ve found out is that its only worth to queue up for a match if you are solo, duo and maybe a trio works as well. With 4 members or a full team, you get way better players against you than your actual rating is (or is supposed to be). Problem is, the system weighs full teams too high. It is very reasonable to give some additional MMR to a full 5 member team, as being able to communicate verbally indeed gives an advantage over PUG teams. But that additional MMR seems to be too much. Some of my guildies only play with full, 5 member team. And they get crushed most of the time. Their win ratio is between 15-28% and arent even close to me on the LB however they are at least as good as me or better.
All in all: dont expect any changes soon, play with 1 or 2 guys and thats it.
