How to prevent tPvP from dying completely
good suggestions. most of your suggestions are either being worked on, or not. theyre aware of all that stuff, they just need the time to do it. the game released with no PVP polish. bugs, horrible imbalances, and no infrastructure. in 4 months, we should be good to go. Dec 14 balance update should be good, and Jan/Feb for spvp features.
1. I would like to see some kind of LFG system for Free tournaments, but for paids, honestly its best if they are organized, (if you want to win).
2. US and EU already can get into the same games sPvP and tPvP.
3. Number 3 yes desperately, there is another thread that was going about these similar issues.
4. I have no idea what you mean on this one. If you mean to make premades fight premades then yeah.

6. Seriously? They didn’t even mean to implement the team color change at that moment. They are not being lazy, they want to make sure everything is ready don’t how many times you want to hear that. Or just ignore it and call them lazy, or say something like they aren’t being transparent.

No I am being serious, they have said you can queue in to EU teams when doing tPvP and sPvP.

yea i’m convinced they haven’t actually “launched” pvp (based on another thread)
we are all in the public beta test of gw2 pvp
it’s ok with me, but the (very large) mistake they made was not making it perfectly clear the state of pvp is not “launch ready”
At what point is it just too late?
I noticed gamebreaker.tv stopped their GW2 pvp show. Sites that host builds and post videos have dropped off. It seems like any serious esport types have given up and moved on.
I’m afraid at this point if they suddenly magically had a good system for team pvp, it’d still suffer from low-use, because that ship has sailed a while ago.
Maybe they’d do better to make a spvp system that appeals to the pve-players that remain in the game, something that’s casual-friendly and fun. I dunno, maybe like let us take our spvp skins into the rest of the game.

It is too late when the developer gives up or a few years. There are tons of things ANet can do to bring players back that leave and in the MMO market you can have a year old game still be one of the newer games on the market.
I think I will give up on sPvP completely if it isn’t growing with the first expansion release. That time will bring in a wave of players coming back or trying the game and I am guessing we will start hearing about it end of 2013.
I heavily agree with combining Servers and adding some sort of “LFG-System” or a global lobby or sth.
Why not just have it like in GW1, where you had EU Server 1, if that one is full ppl are directed to EU Server 2 etc. for the Mists. It’s just a sad sight to watch if I go on a heavily popuated EU-Server and there is no1 around in the Mists – therefore making it much harder to find players that are stuck on other Servers and therefore reducing the number of players actually playing PvP, which makes it in turn harder to play for every1, even those that have team rdy to go.
im just a little curious as to what people mean by adding a LFG system… isnt that what is already in place… you solo queue(LFG) and matched up with other people(LFG) then your off and tourny starts. Im not sure there is anyway to improve that system.

Something like gw2lfg.com but for PvP would be desirable. Built in the game of course.
Here is where ANet actually screwed up…
They released the game before it was finished.
I know the whole release an unfinished game and clean it up as time goes on idea has been around and that it’s worked for a few games, like Minecraft, but take a look at what happened to WAR.
We have one type of sPvP currently when we should have several.
Free for All Deathmatch
Team Deathmatch
Conquest (the only one we do have)
Capture the Flag
Attack/Defend
Those are a few that come to mind in under 15 seconds. They should have spent their time implementing new game modes and maps rather than think they could toss in paid sPvP tournies and expect those to last.
What we also need is team sPvP to counter the current “pick a server and play” setup from the PvP browser. Add an NPC that queues a party, even if their going to end up in the same servers from current browser, and drop them together in the same server on the same team.
If ANet wants sPvP to work they need to buckle down, as I’m sure their doing to some extent, and get some content released for it.

we need free to be a place for new ppl to have fun and start organizing in tournaments. we need a new play list (ADVANCED) for the ppl that are now organized and need to work on skill and synergy then their will be teams for paid all day because ppl will have tickets and skill and teams.

Well made PvP is a billion times better than many styles of PvP.
Improve and perfect what they’ve got, then see what needs doing from there…
Making capture points into nothing but something you cap every 1-2~ minute and then own for those 1-2~ mins, besides possibly the middle point, would do WONDERS. It’d make fights more mobile and pushing/holding much more strategic since it doesn’t involve just leaving someone on a BO… the bunker roamer meta (no offense to people that like it) is completely silly, no one wants to sit on a point for half a match with little to do, no one likes fighting nigh unkillable stalling specs… a push away from that will only do good for this game.

but take a look at what happened to WAR.
The difference between GW2 and WAR is GW2 has game play that is unique. A lot of games have come out trying to do great things with their pvp, it is released unpolished and people leave and don’t come back even when the developer makes a large effort to bring those players back. I loved WAR and really wanted it to work out but it was very similar to WoW and many other more successful games in terms of game play.
The combat system in place for Guild Wars 2 is why so many people want sPvP to work and it is why ANet will be able to succeed as an e-sport if they put in the effort building their PvP community once the necessary features are implemented. I really hope to see a f2p PvP version implemented when there are PvP gem store items and PvP is in a good place.
