Allegedly the reward for this track states “Unique armor skins.” Has anyone completed this track and know what this “Unique skin” is? I would be happy if it was the gemstore Kryta set, yet I feel it is probably just blue/green grade armor skins, or no skins at all.

The ‘unique skins’ are the ceremonial weapon skins, easily acquired for like 20s on the trading post.

Moreover, you only get the skin, you don’t get an exo.

Atm, there aren’t many reasons to do the region tracks at all. Dungeon tracks seem to be much more rewarding.

Thanks for the quick response. At this point I still commend a-net for introducing more diverse rewards to Pvp, and don’t want to a whiner over something they have sincerely improved. Was just curious to see what the word unique truly meant in that reward track description.

Well, that’s a bit of a disappointment…

So far, I ran the Balthazar reward track and the Arah track once; then I switched to the Krytan track because I thought, might as well start unlocking the region tracks if I have nothing else to do. But I was hoping for a few nice surprises on the way. :\

Well you get more salvage items doing regions, plus Mystic Clovers.

But yeah I do admit the guaranteed exotic weapons from the Dungeon Tracks are pretty awesome.

That’s because the time and effort to acquire the dungeon weapons via sPvP tracks is way easier than the PvE equivalent for many dungeons. If you want a full set or Arah weapons it’s far easier and faster to just join sPvP and face opponents of similar skill level to your own to get these weapons than it is to learn the dungeons and deal with the daily grinds.

The regional reward tracks look so bad because the dungeon reward tracks are far too generous.

Actually not really. Seeing that you only get a single piece of armour from a completed dungeon track, as opposed to a full set (like it actually says on the description), it’s generally a hell of a lot faster just running the dungeon if you want gear.

It’s good for me though, because I just hate doing dungeons and would never be running them anyway. Gives me a chance to at least get some dungeon skins.

If you only want weapons, then doing sPvP is slightly faster. If you want literally anything else, doing the dungeon is better.

On your way to that single piece of armour you will acquire several weapons. Many of those weapons cost 300+ tokens. Running all paths of most dungeons (which can take a long time depending on your party) in a single day will usually only net you 190ish tokens. Any more tokens beyond that are much harder to acquire due to daily lock outs (something the sPvP reward tracks don’t have unless you hotjoin only and the skill difference between hotjoin and arenas is almost non-existent if your rating is low enough).

As someone who does both sPvP and PvE it’s far easier for me to acquire many dungeon sets via sPvP than it would be to do so via PvE. One of the big draws for sPvP is I will be acquiring several transmutation charges along the way. Honestly, when I look at end game gearing and cosmetic acquisition, there is a huge incentive to choose sPvP over other areas of the game right now because the rewards are so generous, especially for players with lots of alts.

Plus, you can usually get a second piece of armor from the tokens you earn during the track. One track gets you 2 armor and 2 weapons? far quicker/easier than repeatedly doing the dungeons.

The reward tracks in general are just bad design.
The dungeon tracks are completly independent of the difficulty a dungeon has.
The region tracks seem fairly unrewarding, especially the “unique skins”.
The tracks for all of the other skins besides dungeon skins don’t exist.
