1, Berserker stance – Nothing should give immunity to entire types of classes. no counter play. Very lame. Just make it 90% reduction in condition duration then at least necros can interrupt them
2, Automated response – see above. Losing to someone who is just 100x worse than you just because of a trait they take it total BS. How is this still in the game?
3, Warrior stuns – insane. You literally get knocked around like a ping pong ball by the warrior then die. Interrupt them you say! No you cant. Because they are immune to anything I do (lol)
4, Sword thief evades – way too many evades, teleports, etc on this weapon set
5, Thief feline grace trait – seriously wtf. They get to dodge for less. Anet need to realise dodging and evades = invulnerable. Invulnerable is good in pvp. Seriously.
6, Vigor – most op boon ever. Way more dodges = more invuln = never die = lame. You need to balance this boon. By reducing the amount of vigor gained by certain classes.
7 , Runes of lyssa – seriously wtf is this. Its so OP. Why do you think 50% of people in any game run these. People use elites purely for this rune set. Shows how insane it is.
8, Sigil of energy – dodging is OP. Anet really need to get this or this game will fail.
9, Nature of renewal. So broken and frustrating. Gives you massive advantage in team fight. No counter play as killing it resses anyway. Massive HP. Massive healing. Full condi cleanses. It is just way too good.
10, Ele burst – too high, should be brought down. Promotes macroing and even more cheese. Solution to making ele viable isnt to give it cheese.
11, Signet of spite – why make something so lame as this? it takes no skill to just random land a signet of spite then fear someone = death. I lose to so many bad necros who run this or signet or plague. Enough. Nerf signet of spite durations or increase the cooldown.
12, healing spring – too strong
13, Elixr R – people shouldnt be able to res themselves – come on.
14, Lag – fixing lag matters. Lag is Op in this game. Most the games I lose is because I get dced for 2 mins start of every match. Winning from 3 cap and 100-0 down isnt easy.
15, Emphatic bond – passive condi removal is lame. End of.
16, Healing turret – cast time too short. Cant be interrupted.
17, Healing signet – cant be interrupted so where is the counter play?
18, Shadows refuge – cooldown too short.
19, Stand your ground – get too much for this. Increase the cd.
20, Burning – burning is OP. Nerf it by 25%
21, Asuras – too small. Cant see them for kitten. Lame and should be nerfed/banned
There are 21 things to fix. Get to work on these and people will be happy.
Balance devs, do us all a favour and print this off and put the “To-do list” at the top and then stick it on your wall

3, Warrior stuns – This isn’t worded constructively, it’s worded in a kitten manner. Warrior builds are based around locking you down and preventing you from escaping while their team deals damage. Focus down the warrior with group play. Accept that warriors are your weakness and get over it.
4, Sword thief evades – L2P, use terrain, LoS and then AoE them down. Could use some fine tuning, but it’s not horrible.
5, Thief feline grace trait – You cry about thieves a lot, don’t you?
6, Vigor – so peel it off?
7 , Runes of lyssa – lol. 5 seconds of boons on a ~90 second cooldown (the time it takes for elite to recharge). This is mostly counter-condition play.
8, Sigil of energy – I’m noticing that you’re also complaining about things that you could be using yourself. Do you refuse to dodge just because it makes you invulnerable? The game is based around avoiding big attacks and evading when you need to…
9, Nature of renewal. It’s an elite. The same could be said for plague form, lich form, rampage, guardian invuln, guardian books. They are pretty dang strong. It’s kind of the point.
10, Ele burst – Wut. Elementalist is, by far, the easiest class to counter and kill.
11, Signet of spite – This signet has a long cast time. It also appears above the necro’s head AS HE CASTS IT.
12, healing spring – lol. Anti-conditions. Even as a conditionmancer, I can admit that they NEED THIS to survive. I can’t win every fight… and often I can even kill them after they use healing spring.
13, Elixr R – It has a 120 second cooldown. If you can’t down him again in 120 seconds, then something is wrong with your build. Most builds that use this are bunkers with little to no damage.

21, Asuras – You’re right, asura should be as big as charr!. No. Tab-targeting is getting fixed in october, and they will be easier to target. If you’re click-targeting, you’re only gimping yourself anyway.

@11: You really are able to dodge this spell with all that clutter? I don’t know anyone who can do this.
@18: Mass Invis is still a mechanic that shouldn’t exist in any serious PvP environment. There is absolutely no counter to it, if it’s placed well enough.

Dodging is the best thing in this game, and normal dodges can’t really be spammed too much aside in a few set ups. Dodging by itself also is by no means OP.
After a long time I come back to this forum and see posts like these. Are you kittening srs? You obviously can’t be or you aren’t able to figure out by your own that dodging is one of the most broken mechanics in this game, as it is spammable and therefore doesn’t produce skill, but luck. Jeesus…

If you think automated response is fair then fine. I expect the next trait patch to introduce a new necro trait called “Can’t be hurt at all by engineer when 25% health”. Sounds legit?

My lack of knowledge there is an almost full 2 count on spite sig and animation and going off I do and have dodged it auto response if an eng is at 25% health that is around 4.5k health and when he hits 15k around 2 regen ticks add more condies lol and imma be honest if shadow refuge in an opening of a team fight can suck but you what loose 1 point and take other 2 have people break off and not just stand at mid crying about it lol just use your brain man
And I rarely get a dc or lag in this game only in Zerg v Zerg

Your arguments doesn’t make any sense. Your last sentence is outstanding, by saying Refuge sucks, but hey let’s deal with it because it is in the game. What a lame excuse for a broken mechanic.
Empathetic I’ve prob been in 5 tpvp game were we got shadow jumped 1 person died every time the other 2 split I had taken far point already we won 4 of those games I like how I’m dealing with it

You have no Idea, before the rune of the adventure was nerfed you were able to make
builds that perma dodge, and not some kind of semi perma dodge, but a real one. And
I’m talking just about the “v” skill, without the addition of any evasive skills. The stuff
we have today isn’t even remotely close to that.
Let’s asume somebody has perma vigor, which means 4 dodges every 10 seconds, but
is that so much? If you compare it with the amout your #6 skill heals, and the dmg
conditions and even some auto attacks do, that’s not really too much.
Traited a Thief is able to doge 3 times in 12 seconds, and he might use vigor, which means 6 times in 12 seconds? Two dodges more than a normal person, it’s not that
much, also a thief like that is either having low damage or low toughness, so there
is a pay off there. Also he only has a vigor uptime of 66% and even then he would
waste some heals.
The thing is, if said Thief has all the obve, uses S/D and SB and the sigil of
energy on each weapon and uses the signet of agility, he hase more evasion
uptime than he would actually need, thats the point where it too much.
If you can’t handle an enemy with 4 dodges in the next 10 seconds …. well sorry.
But well I actually would prefer some kind of dodge mechanic which just quickly
moves the player to a different location, but that wouldn’t work too well with the
way attacks work in this game.

As you clearly stated, dodging can be spammed. And spamming is a problem in this game, seems like you are not aware of it. 4 dodges in 10 seconds are way too much. I agree that the damage also is too much (and other things too) and should be adjusted to it. However, doding became (cuz of sigils and vigor and evade-skills) skillless.
You dodge, not because you see the enemy coming up with a fear or a stun, but rather because you can. “99%” of all dodges are either because your endurance is (nearly) full or by prediction.

Well yes you are right, and all I meant that dodging by itself isn’t OP, but
spamming it is. But okay reading my first post right now I think I might

Lyssa runes definitely need nerf.
When they nerfed corrupt boon it was a massive buff to this already good rune set. I would suggest lyysa runes get a bigger cooldown or dont give stability.

I agree with everything the OP (Henry) listed. Though, he could work on his phrasing and general tone so people will take his advice seriously.
These are not l2p issues. Henry has as much experience and skill in playing this game as anyone and he knows what he’s talking about. No idea why you’d take my word for it, but I thought I’d put that out there.
Re: 21 lame things
I’d prioritize dodging (4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ) – Energy sigils and Lyssa runes definitely need to be adjusted. Sigil of paralyzation is still broken. (3)
Hotfixing should become customary, instead of having to wait 3 months to fix obvious bugs!
Passive play through AI or signets is very harmful to SPvP. These issues have been targeted in the past, but continue to be crutches for players and classes such as Ranger. Long uncounterable invulnerabilities should be avoided too, though there are numerous ones in-game. It should always be offset by inability to attack during the invulnerability: i.e. Mistform (1, to a lesser extend 2, 9, 15)
Undodgable burst (10) also has negative effects on the Meta, inforcing all the above. Fresh Air Elementalist will be dominant if condition meta disappears.
Lag issues (14) have been plagueing the Mists recently. It has nothing to do with our internet connections, definitely server issues on ArenaNet’s end!
(18) If you plan to nerf stealth stacking / grouping, Shadows Refuge’s cooldown is the way to do it.
(20) Access to burning makes condition builds viable or unviable: i.e. Necromancer with or without Dhuumfire. All condition builds should have their access to burning looked at first.
(21) Standardized model sizes need to happen to make GW2 an #Esports, better sooner than later…

But necro was improving as the OPness of ele got removed. If they just gave necro those DS changes and nothing else necro would of been fun and viable. Although since then the power creep has been such that necro needs to be lame to compete. Look at Warrior. Warrior of today would shred a necro pre dhummfire or anyone pre that patch. I mean it shreds anyone anyway, but it would 100x worse. Do you deny there has been power creep on a drastic scale? Few nerfs and many buffs.

First off, wrong, just wrong.
Even if going GC some other classes/builds can do much more then an Ele & then some.
That combined with you only have to glance at GC ele & it is dead.
Secondly, mention weapon set next time, as I assume you mean S/?, but others may think you mean the lesser weapons.

4,5 ~ Disagree. Mobility & Evasion are the thiefs tools for a sustain itself meaningfully. FS and IS on S/D, IS and PW on S/P, feline grace for all sets.

18 ~ CD is fine. The stealth duration is too long. You end up twiddling thumbs/throwing out random kitten waiting to see whether he or his allies are dead or if you’re going to be blitzed down. That or they stealthed before you got there and so you’re again twiddling thumbs for an extensive period of time.

21 ~ Not a big deal in all seriousness. Quite a few Asura animations are exaggerated enough to distinguish them.

It’s on a 60s cooldown. You have 52 seconds to apply as many conditions as you like. Yet even during those 8s, power damage – which every class can apply – still does apply.

Dodging is perfect. It is a meaningful, limited, active mechanic that is easy to see. As for the sigil of energy, if you think it is good, use it. Otherwise, don’t. It’s that simple. I often don’t; there are better options for my builds.

By that logic, all skillful play encourages macroing, and thus should be removed from the game. That said, Ele burst is highly telegraphed. Dodge it. Block it. Invuln it. CC the ele.

Cleanse. Stability. Evade. This one is easy to anticipate, as you can see when someone has it equipped.

It’s stationary. You don’t have fight in one place. Force them out.

Why not? Simply another mechanic, akin to invulnerability, healing, or auto attacking. Push them off their res spot. Kill them off of it. There is a cast time which the Engineer has to predict where and when he is going to die. So don’t kill him there, or if you do, remove him from it.

You define “balance” within very limited terms. Apparently, “balance” for you means skills of all equivalent, mediocre value, where mashing buttons becomes equally effective as specific strategies.

You do make some valid points but what other issues from other professions will be brought up even if ALL of this was changed? More problems. Probably far more balance issues than currently in effect.
What about QOL? Balance is nice but if your changes are all put in effect it will create more in-balances than fixes. Lets fix all the broken traits and skills first, then the problems with lack of counter play THEN work on fixing the overpowered/cheese.
Some of these aren’t needing changed though. Seems like you want a completely different game…

First off, the devs do indeed read the forums, but they won’t listen to some random dude telling them what to do because it’s for the greater good (or your own pleasure ? hummm?)

S/D thieves need to be destroyed sword 2 is ridiculous it counters everything without requiring anything except the button push (from escaping to chasing with 0 CD). Feline Grace to see what it does go to 1v1 arenas and just watch the energy bar of a thief, it makes me feel sick and remember the heal and sword #3 evades too and then they shortbow and spam evade more. (The 15% for Grace is 15% of the WHOLE energy bar so 30% of a dodge.)
There are thieves with feline grace and a single dagger that are able to evade and beat ppl in 1v1 arenas for hours. (While i know these thieves are good and well aquainted with the build i KNOW they arent so good that they can defeat all comers for hours on end with one weapon because they arent being helped by an OP trait.) If a thief chooses to evade everything, they can. Thats not acceptable.

Agree. Good post. Although at least S/D thief takes some skill to be good at, unlike warrior or ranger
Honestly, the hate in this thread is offputting. Too bad, because it is a pretty good list of all the things that have left players unsatisfied and forced some to quit the game.
Frequency and scale of the balance patching are too insignificant for any of this to be fully realised, though.
But the developers can’t afford to ignore good ideas, even if the OP is “a random dude”.
Then again, some people don’t know what they’re talking about and that has been made plenty clear in this thread as well.
