Power Block is bugged as hell. I really wonder, that nobody in the forum complaining about this.

If you interrupt a ress or a stomp with this power block trait, the function ressing and stomping going on a 10second cd as well. An example: My teammate goes down, five players of the enemy team wants to stomp, i press Greatssword 5 (illusionary wave) for interrupt and the function for stomping will be on a 10second cd for every enemy player. The same bug can abuse for interrupting a ress (ress function going on a 10second cd).

Also there is no icd, so you can spamming interrupts (greatssword 5, f3, chaos storm, mantra..) to abuse the bug.

yes, it also sends thief skills into a 10 secs CD.

Its so broken. It puts auto-attack on cool down. Puts thieves skills on cool down. Interrupt larcenous strike and flanking strike will be on cool down.

It also puts autoattack on cooldown when it’s interrupted. I think this is a bug because the description only talks about skills that have a cooldown getting an increased cooldown.

Anet likely didn’t want to remove the armor stats entirely because…well,
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.

What people fail to understand is that the only thing that’s really broken about the trait is that it puts stomps/rezzes on cooldown. Other than that it’s fine. It opens up a brand new interesting role for Mesmer in dungeons (which is good since in this SAME patch they butchered Mesmer dungeon builds) and helps gives Mesmer a much-needed place in competitive teams.

I’m sure some people would love to see it nerfed into uselessness (which is synonymous with hotfixing it to it’s original incarnation), but that’s lousy design.

Aside how totally broken it is against thieves, what did you not understand about the fact that it puts stomps/rezzes ON A 10 SECONDS CD so you can’t stomp/ress ?

I mean, i should really stop frequenting forums like many others already did, since people understanding of the game is really, but really ridicolously poor.

I would really like to have devs in EU mists and not only on NA in order to report broken stuf on the live instead of passing trough these forums.

Maybe it’s unbalanced, but until a dev says it’s broken, it might be working as originally intended to introduce some counterplay to rezz/stomp.

These are just 2 of the most blatantly broken things a mesmer does right now.

Like I said, this gives Mesmer a role that’s not entirely overshadowed by thieves or other classes. Even if Mesmer have 3.5k shatters, that’s assuming all shatters hit, the target didn’t have protection, and each hit crits. Even then that simply makes us start to approach damage thieves are already putting out.

I agree that locking out stomps/rezzes is a bit much and definitely should be fixed, but even if it isn’t then that means the meta is changing and people need to adapt. That means focus the Mesmer first and don’t give them the opportunity to do that shutdown thing they’re supposed to be good at. What I don’t want is for them to change the other functionalities. ESPECIALLY for PvE.

The way it works to counter thieves right now is fine IMO. Hopefully it’ll help mitigate some of the “Thief OP” QQ

Don’t worry, they’re making you virtually immune to powerblock with a hotfix soon, luckily enough anet shares your views of the thief being some sort of celestial being who should not be touched by the plebs.
