So iv been playing around, so far in ranked i am doing exceptionally well with this build.
It is a guardian build that does not require expansion.

Im going to call it “Zealot” Build! so spread the word.
The build i as follows

Talent spec
If 1 = top, 2= mid, 3 = bottom talent selection, the build is as follows

Valor: 3,2,2
Zeal: 2,3,2
Radiance:2,2,1

Amulet: Merc
Rune: Balthazar

Weapon
Main: Ceptor/torch
Off: Mace/Foci

Sigil –
Main = Smolder/Accuracy
Off= Water/Leech

signets etc
Contemplation of purity>judges intervention> purging flame

No problem, use scept/torch for dps. Jump in drop all your stuff and watch it melt. Spam defensives from the off spec weapons as needed.

Use an foci ability for protection before going it.
Alternatively you can use a shield instead of focus both are good but the mace/foci offers more protection spam (at the cost of a heal/reflect).

for me it seems that foci is slightly better but i like shield more.

Rotation should be something like Teleport>consencrate>ult> While channel>f1/f2/f3 >repeat f1,f2,f3

-I believe smiters boon will usually be stronger, but im no guard specialist.
-This looks a lot like this build without the dragonhunter.
-Reconstructed it. Much easier that way
-Other than that it seems reasonable. But again: I aint no guard expert. Only played burning guard pre-hot.

Wont work, because you just use COP to covert to boons.
IT will just buff the kitten out of the guard.

Every other class and their Mother have the ability to cleanse the ONE condition a Guardian can put out.

Ohh, it can work if you have a reaper or mesmer (pretty much every team does) who bait out the fast cleanses first. A burning guard burst ticks for easily 4k/s if you only take one second too long to recognize it, you are done.
From my personal point of view this still harder to deny than a damagetrappers burst.
And you can still have better utility than traps.

You have 2 condition cleansing 32s and 35s cd. And can only dump burning on the enemy. With the condi meta out there (Necro/Reapers heck even condi wars). They will cleanse that in a heartbeat and drop a few condis for you to pop COP. You will most likely be using Purging Flames offensively so that will be on CD. Then they drop their condi bomb and the guardian will be dead.

Dont get me wrong, i played burn guard back when it first became kind of a thing but now its nothing.

Any burn guard will tell you it’s not the team fight cleanses or necro throwbacks that hurts us… it’s the large amounts of Stuns & CC HoT puts out… we’re forced to go DH for the sustains & Stability gains.

This build, like all other burn guard builds, either lack stability&sustains or lacks burst dmages that DH can dish out. Burn guardian is in a bad state, just like all the other non-elite specs.

New? This build was used since 2015, and it is a one-trick-pony.

Im doing 700k damage a game with this build, i am not having any issue with people cleansing it on a normal fly, because the damage stacks of this build so fast there is no reaction time for it.

Additionally about 50-55% of my damage is power oriented.

Isn’t that the old condition build that everyone used before HoT?
It’s really good and one of my favorite condition builds.
It’s good and work very well, I can agree.

Back in time that build was heavy countered by eles, necro, guardian and warrior , but actually there’s only the necro that can really counter that build, thanks to all the new specializzations and the brainless players that play only what metabattle say them to play.

Actually can be really a good choice and yes, that build don’t require the expansion why had been made before it.

Yes, the amount of CC that came from the actual meta classes can hut you a lot, but with a lot of teamplay a skilled player can still be able to do a really good job, expecially in the lower ranks.

Basically just a worse version of the burn guard that has existed for ages. Totally unusable in the current meta though.

It might not be the best build or the best description of a build but its playable.
If this person comes up on their own with something that used to be meta, that is impressive. Coming up with new builds and having the bravery to go public with it should never get this kind of feedback.

Or you are right and make a way for a new meta. I remember not too long ago, during this season, elementalists and mesmers were thought underpowered, it was only because someone tried out something new, that they belong to the confirmed ‘op’ stuff now.

Enjoy your build as much as you can, on paper people will tell you how bad it is but at the end of the day it comes down to your own playstyle and your own knowledge…(I’ve been teaching some people Arcane Ele Combo’s, I’m not a pro but people generally play the build better when they have knowledge of the playstyle to go with it)

If you’re doing 700k damage, I can tell you’re not jumping in and bursting everything in a dump from the get go but you wait out for certain cleanses or apply the burning moderately but frequently rather than “burst”.

Thats my point. The op ‘came up’ with a former meta build, obviously without knowing that build existed. Thats not bad at all.

Thats my point. The op ‘came up’ with a former meta build, obviously without knowing that build existed. Thats not bad at all.

Except it’s a really really bad version of burn guard.

nothing new and interesting…its the old burn guard which is pretty useless in high rank spvp…it might be good low rank. Meta DH build will be much much better
