So after a patch that in absoluteley no way brought eles in line with other classes, this new map just seems to be designed for them.
When a bunker ele picks up that orb even without a team mate supporting them they can very easily make it to a point on the map even under extreme focus of the other team. So all it takes is one ele to pick the orb another to support it and then you can still have three players capping. The team chasing the ele with the orb has absoluteley no chance of killing them before they get somewhere due to eles still being very very tanky and very very fast…
This map is yet another kick in the balls to the warrior as it is already forced to play its only viable build the Hurr Durr hundred blades burst as that is the only way it has any mobility around such a complex map. Warriors cannot take advantage of the rifle or longbow as they are both just weak… so its pidgeon holed into using melee weps of which the only one that gives the mobility required is the gs.
Personaly and from what ive heard i am not alone in thinking this. It is SO SO SO boring to have to fight someone who is so tanky that they never stand any chance of killing you and yet it will take you a LONG time to kill them, it doesnt require any skill from either player the tank just rolls his face accross his keyboard safe in knowledge that it takes atleast 2 people to bring him down and the balanced player knows he is only wasting time fighting what will not die… At the other end of the spectrum it is also SO SO SO boring to be killed in a split second before even the best players have any chance of reacting to these insane damage burst builds… How does that promote skillful play in any way?? its just a combo of the same few skills used over and over.. it does not show that the player making the kill is a good player or that the playing dying is a bad player at all. The only time a fight actually feels like a fight should is when two balanced built players face off as then every dodge, stun and skill of damage counts in the much more exciting fight of who will come out on top.
So for along time now ive had a huge belief that despite the dwindling numbers in PvP Anet could turn it around with some good updates… It doesnt even need mentioning the amount of core features to a PvP game are missing from GW2. GW1 had some great PvP features which although Anet keep saying this required stuff is coming i am now everyday startign to think it will be far to late for this game to stand any chance of becoming a successful esport.
To sum up:
New map = awefully well designed for bunker eles
Warriors still completely useless
Full on bunkers are boring and so are full on DPS burst builds.
Game has great potential but needs more core PvP features and needs far more then “tweaking” to fix balance.

I should have made it clear but all of my above comments are based on tpvp where both teams have five players and are on coms. So my comments about warriors being useless are also based on the fact that against a 5 player team all on TS they will always focus down a warrior first as they have very little in the way of defense and are so often as i mentioned running the gs build for hb burst. Yes hammer warrior is not a bad spec but it just does not fit in anyway into the meta of 5v5 currentley. The comment saying you beat eles on your ele and warrior is meaningless really.. ele vs ele is a fair fight and warriors will often burst anyone no matter what class if they are not focused down which they are against a decent team.
So none of my comments are based on hot join as i dont see that as spvp that it just pvp as it is not structured, its just a small group fighting another without any coms or tactics at all. Even in wvw there is more coms then in a hotjoin.
The first sentence i wrote in this edit also brings me to another point about the fact that now paids are gone there is no where for teams to play as a five and make sure they play against another team of five. As the tournements are all now solo joinable. So how is that in anyway going to promote the game as a competive source of PvP for esports?? Is this something that will be fixed with better matching making thats coming? Really a team of five should have 0% chance of facing any team with less than five if Anet wants to promote competitive play towards building an esport.

Would just like to add that i am just quite disapointed with how PvP has been handled when you look at the care PvE appears to have had. I have played a fair amount of pve aswell and it is a masterpeice compared to other mmos.
