So I keep on reading the forum and also map chat on the game.
I notice and understand your anger about the new players. Arenanet surely did a mistake.
But it doesn’t seem to get fixed or even given a statement anytime soon.
It’s the community to work on this now.

I noticed a lot of new players who REALLY WANTED to learn how to play pvp, wanted tipps etc.
All they got? Hatred and abuse.
It’s logical that they can’t improve to the better with that pressure and those negative feelings.
I’m asking here to help them.
Would it be so bad to be kinda like a mentor to them? Duo Q with a new player, explain the classes and the maps to them, give them tipps etc.
Even if you play a few games unranked with them.
If they got any chance to improve and got tipps etc. they will get better (by time).
If not this season, then the next.
You could even start a guild for them (experienced players helping new players)
Just an idea but maybe all we can do for now.
Ofc it will still get AFK’ers and people who just want the gear.
But with the new rewards also people who actually would want to learn it.
Just stop the hate and help them (please !!)

I tried, I contacted 3. 2 never replied and the 3rd said he’s out as soon as he’s geared. Most of them don’t read the forums or go to reddit, not much anyone can do.

yeah it is hard. I would at least help those who are really asking.
As I said, I think it’s all we can do for now :/ Or wait and hope for the next season to get better.

I play this game for over a month now and I started playing PvP as soon as I could because I like PvP. Last night I started to play ranked after some time reading about what is what. And everywhere I read they say new players are here for gear but I can’t see any gear given as a reward from the season. What is all the fuzz about?

Unranked is where they should be learning. Jumping into ranked without a basic concept of how to play is a kitteny thing to do to your teammates, and the hatred they get is deserved for that. They need to have a tutorial you’re required to play through in unranked before being allowed to queue for ranked. And rank points need to be removed from custom arenas so rank cant just be farmed in daily rooms, then pvers just hop into ranked after hitting 20 and never learn how to play. Mandatory tutorial mode in unranked till you hit rank 20, then you can play ranked when you wont be a burden and know what to do.

I’d personally be happy with if ANet made a requirement or Account PvP Rank 60, and having at least 3 professions with Profession Rank 30 before allowing them to queue for Ranked. This would be the best course of action if, it’s a competitive scene that ANet is truly pushing for. Oh and btw you can only earn progression in Unranked queues and not custom lobbies.

If ANet did that. It’ll actually help both the PvEers or new players trying out GW2’s PvP and get them ready for Ranked. But who knows what ANet truly intending with this system. Maybe just a sham for their super competitive few ESL league players to have some what of a playground and people to play with in a playground that’s shrouded in the word Ranked.

Maybe in a thousand year I can embrace GW2 with open arms as a competitive and skill based eSport. But atm all I can do in these matches is just laugh and laugh so hard. However I will say ANet does send me to Smite in a happy, and appreciated mood for those guys being on the market.

Saying all of these I do feel like this season is the Best Season thus far in GW2.

As much as I wish it was that easy, I’ve seen rank 80’s with less knowledge of than some rank 50-60 players.
