Is it a bug, or are some thieves legitimately able to re-stealth in less than the 3s duration of the post-stealth debuff?

Just sometimes seems a bit… odd.

stealth is bugged on his screen he is visible but for you he is 1s or 2s more invisible so you think he can use almost perma stealth lets hope they will fix it in next 5 years.

ofc it happens in spvp but you are the pro here huh?

Only happens in WvW thanks to massive population causing latency issues, not in sPvP love noobs who cry about WvW in sPvP forum.

It also happens regularly in spvp and lag is not the issue because there were often just 2-4 peeps near the node/location.

I doubt it will be easy to find it in the code.

It happens in spvp all the time, not just wvw. I see it happen all the time personaly and see complaints about it all the time. I do not need to provide video or screenshots to prove it. The hundreds of people who have complained about it are all the proof I need.

Yes you can stay perma-stealthed without any debuff.

If you do not attack for the duration of stealth, you get no debuff. This means you can instantly restealth, indefinitely.

There is no debuff if you do not attack.

The maximum time i can keep my stealth would be around 1 minute, However it invloves blowing utilitys, initiative to keep combo field up and having specified weapeons for it only. Thief invisibility boon stacks, and you get revealed only on usage of skill that does damage or negative effect. However combo fielding invis is more visible then normal since it releases sounds+ keeps showing clouds, as you renew it.

I know the Thief’s mechanics… Stealth, you can’t restealth for 3 seconds after it drops, so I should be able to see them for 3 seconds, right? Doesn’t always work like that. You’re also the one who sat in the Guardian block-bug thread denying its existence until ANet popped in and said otherwise. I’ll just go ahead and call you a troll. Or perhaps you want the bug to stick around so you can continue abusing it? Do you really think ANet hasn’t looked into it, found it, and is going to just say “Oh Blazer said it doesn’t exist. Case closed”? Also consider the vast amount of reports for this. In any case, you’re boring.

It’s not a latency issue. I play a thief and it’s an exploit, that I have submitted a week ago.

Is this part of the render issue?

I don’t know what to think of your posts man. Sometimes you raise valid points but a good majority of your posts are just you trolling.

It IS a known issue and it DOES happen in sPvP, not just in WvW. Even other Thieves have said they’ve seen it happen in sPvP. Just because it doesn’t happen for you, doesn’t mean you speak for everyone. I ALWAYS see the delay in sPvP and I rarely have latency issues in-game. It’s even worse in WvW where latency can be rather large at times.

But to the OP, no it isn’t perma-stealth. They are suppose to render as soon as they attack but don’t always do it until a good 1-3 seconds afterwards on YOUR screen due to some bug/glitch/typo in the coding. PvE mobs that stealth do it as well but not nearly as bad, even in populated areas. This allows them to attack you and go back into stealth by the time you see them and is a large factor in why they are so powerful.

If you ask me their stealth should break on taking damage like the Mesmer or anyone else that has any type of stealth.

Well itself as class mechanics part it sux otherwise, some items stolen are rly crap, i mean sharp tooth, 1 minute bleed low damage, has cast time minimum melee range, hiting it is next to imposible and effect sux if you arent running conditions spec, 10 seconds chill from mage, same cast time + minimum range, hard to set up, rly hard, and effect aint worth it most of time.

Thats an example of a crap one, which is actually still decent (not that you can get Sharp Tooth in sPvP IIRC). But when traiting for steal, it can already do a whole ton of powerful stuff. The 4k damage from Mug is pretty much unavoidable, given the nature of the animation, it teleports as well, gives you a utility skill, along with whatever buffs.

Look at Terror for the necromancer, it adds damage to fear. Whoopdy do. Fear damage is about 1.5 times poison damage. Great. For a total, of 1 second, maximum 4 if you go out of your way to spec into it, AND you are downed.

See the difference?

I heard thieves get longer fears than necros….crazy man, crazy…

No worries. They will get balanced, find it hard to compete on the same playing field and move on to the next OP class. Happens in every mmo. I’m pretty sure they are working on their mesmers as we speak. It will just take a bit of time having to..you know..learn to click more than 3 buttons -1 if you macro it on a keyboard-.

Moral of the story, if you see Blazing Hellsing type anything in the forums you can guarantee 3 things: 1) he’s not even remotely pro 2) Be expected to be told “L2P” from someone who hasn’t the slightest idea of what’s going on in game. 3) He’s a thief, if you post anything bad about the theif, his nose starts to bleed.

i spend last two days playing thief. Its not that hard to recognize when you going to be under pressure and therefore dissapier. On the other hand its pretty easy to burst someone down in 2 sec. Considering i played only few games as Thief i think its trully easy to say..
dodge will not help you ! not as long as i have venoms up. sorry.. and if i catch you not fully healed, then you dead in second..

OP yes, there is a way thieves can stay in nearly perma stealth in spvp, have seen it a few times:

If you use the traits that gives initiative when stealthing you can use cloak and dagger wait 3 seconds use it again and keep doing it infinitely being perma stealthed an still doing damage. Also if you wait till the end of the stealth and backstab right at the end you don’t get the revealed debuff so you can just stealth straight away.

For someone who doesn’t think the stealth bug doesn’t exist he was abusing the absolute hell out of it. I’m not suprised he was defending it. Otherwise he was just your average run of the mill thief, nothing special.

You know how I know there’s a problem?, When i start taking damage and spam nearest target since I can’t see what’s hitting me, nothing selects on my screen for at least 2-3 seconds. The game can’t even pick up a visable player.

Its not a “stealth bug” see my post above.
