Please nerf necros by reducing the damage fear does by maybe 10% and reduce the amount of fear on the ds3 skill to only 1 second irrespective of distance from the target.

It is lame at the moment. As you can get someone often from 100-0 with fear and conditions.

Please don’t overnerf necro. Just make it useful but not op – like the guardian

Explain how we should be able to counter constant fear spams, every condition in the game, and using our CDs defensively and offensively.

Necros were still competitively viable, you just had to build your comp based around them, and conditions in general. Now any brainless moron can play a necro and get away with it thinking they are good. Just sit on a back point and win 1v1s all day.

Someone can run triple necros because there is hardly little way to punish that. Necros are very immobile but like I just said, if they keep one on their back point it does not matter.

And I believe it is more terror’s damage, than the condis. You take more damage from terror each condition you have on you. Necros have every condition in this game.

Pls…let’s no compare necros to thieves and mesmers, I can clearly see what the necro about to do and I can dodge, blind or block, I see nothing OP about them ( I don’t main necro) on the contrary, they offer a fair and interesting fight…if you want something nerfed..just look in the mesmer/thief direction, for as long as they can access stealth ( now mesmers use torch/focus , while thieves go d/p perma stealth -_- )

I don’t get it. Necro’s ALWAYS had access to fear. Terror is nothing new. It didn’t get buffed in this patch, in fact, it got nerfed in the sense that the moved it up to the master trait line. Everyone claiming fear is OP and broken is just clueless to the necro class.

The ONLY additional fear necro’s got is their spectral wall. If you aren’t smart enough to not run smack into a big green glowing spooky wall then you deserve the one extra fear necro’s gained access to. Everyone is complaining about fears but there are no more fears than before with the exception of the wall.

What I will agree upon is that multiple terror necro’s on a team are a royal pain in the butt to deal with. Class stacking is bad no matter what class it is.

What I find funny is that necro’s didn’t suddenly get more bleeds, more poison, more fear or anything else. They did get Torment but it’s a long cooldown, doesn’t last very long and it’s damage really isn’t even that great. People just aren’t used to playing against necro’s. All the cries of fear/terror being OP are just silly as this is something necro’s have ALWAYS had.

Necro’s still have the same problems they had before. No mobility, no vigor, no way to disengage, no way to chase down etc. They are just as squishy as they have ever been.

I was thinking the same thing, of all the buffs….people are complaining about the things that got nerfed.

The only real conditionmancer buff is the access to burning, but it is 30 points into the spite tree, which is not a very popular tree…..but, “shrug”

That and all the other conditions plus terror is basically a dead thief, or mesmer, or anything else that has the go far point.

I will give this more time to ease into, but trying to cleanse, what 7 or 8 conditions as a thief is near impossible.

Exactly. The update also had +0.5 seconds on Fear from Doom if they’re within 600 units distance. But yeah, aside from that and Spectral Wall, which only stays up 5 seconds with a 45 second cooldown (7.5 seconds uptime if traited, and cooldown down to 36 seconds with another trait), there really hasn’t been much change to the fear builds.

After the update, I essentially just swapped in Spectral Wall and my Warhorn was less effective since Terror moved up to Master and I couldn’t take Banshee’s Wail anymore.

You have allowed to let the necro stack bleeds, poison and burn on you for a while (a while = enough time to take out a condi glass cannon) before he feared you, otherwise a drop from 24k to 0 hp would not be possible, unless you lack skill. Unlike you, this is not the rage talking, it’s reason. And try to control your rage, before openly insulting people.

Like i said, the dmg is op the survivability is not.

The problem is the dmg is completly fire and forget, not mitigated by protection/armor and adds in a control aspect which also does dmg.

What necros needed was not a offensive buff but a defensive one.

Necro is defensles even after patch, at least we can deal some dmg Stop whining about it. Every other class has abilitys to protect them, Necro dont – so its pretty logical that we have to burst and CC ppl to stay alive. I disagree, just let people get used to the new toys we got, it’s all very easy to counter and necro’s can still get CCchained easily. Necros were always able to condi burst someone from 100-0 with a good combo. We are viable for competitive PvP now, but by no means OP. I would say good job anet, necros finally got what they deserved.

You are a bad necro so your opinion doesn’t count.
But really, we have played with a necro for long time and never really felt it was not viable dmg wise.
This is just bullkitten, HGH engis was balanced compared to this kitten

I hope you are trolling, if not let me clarify something. The last time i played with you was 4 months ago in february after a 1 month break with a troll build and you keep complaining about 1 bad match.
I have 900 tournament wins with necro and can’t remember the last time i lost a 1v1. If you don’t mind i would duel you when you have the time.

You have allowed to let the necro stack bleeds, poison and burn on you for a while (a while = enough time to take out a condi glass cannon) before he feared you, otherwise a drop from 24k to 0 hp would not be possible, unless you lack skill. Unlike you, this is not the rage talking, it’s reason. And try to control your rage, before openly insulting people.

It takes djooce 3-4sec to get 12stacks of blee,d poison, weakness, burn, chill + the first fear

It takes about that long for all necros, your point being…? Take further arguments to PMs pls, the forums are no place for this argument.

What I will agree upon is that multiple terror necro’s on a team are a royal pain in the butt to deal with. Class stacking is bad no matter what class it is.

What I find funny is that necro’s didn’t suddenly get more bleeds, more poison, more fear or anything else. They did get Torment but it’s a long cooldown, doesn’t last very long and it’s damage really isn’t even that great. People just aren’t used to playing against necro’s. All the cries of fear/terror being OP are just silly as this is something necro’s have ALWAYS had.

Necro’s still have the same problems they had before. No mobility, no vigor, no way to disengage, no way to chase down etc. They are just as squishy as they have ever been.

I said this, when multiple necros they just put one at their back point. Spectral wall can not be avoided by everyone. As a thief I can telelport past it, not everyone can. If you get feared into a wall, you are basically dead. And necros have burning, the burning ticks for like 600 for 4s. That and all the other conditions plus terror is basically a dead thief, or mesmer, or anything else that has the go far point.

I will give this more time to ease into, but trying to cleanse, what 7 or 8 conditions as a thief is near impossible.

The dmg+cc IS op, HGH engi did LESS condi pressure with about as kittenty survivability and less control(none) and yet people complained even harder about it(even good engies admited it was stupid)

Please nerf necros by reducing the damage fear does by maybe 10% and reduce the amount of fear on the ds3 skill to only 1 second irrespective of distance from the target.

It is lame at the moment. As you can get someone often from 100-0 with fear and conditions.

Please don’t overnerf necro. Just make it useful but not op – like the guardian

Yeah, guardian is not OP. It’s just every team needs 1. Not OP at all.

This happened to me several times the past couple days in pvp. It’s brutal. Even if you stun break, you simply can cleanse enough, heal enough, or block all at the same time. Worse, if you have key stuff on CD you die in 2 seconds flat. At least you can dodge from a thief or mesmer to have a smidge of a chance. Cast arcane thievery and the necro just heals and laughs at you.

I’m all for good fights and until this patch i considered necro’s a good fight. They definitely needed a little buff… but nothing like this.

I am speaking about lack of defenses necro had and still have, not speaking of mobility. If you look at this, then it will be pretty clear that necro class should offer something in return, for been’g so slow (I wont even start to speak about casting time xD). I thing necro atm is now, what is should be for a long time. And even good necro cant do anything agains hard focus.

Partly true, I would say it has become easier to kill people, it is now on par with other classes, wich is a good thing imho.

Thieves : can run away
Ele:can run away
guard: can survave for 1-2 mins
Engi: can jump away
warrior:dunno

Necro: gets all in his face xD

Necros with rabids are not as squishy as you make them at all and they got plenty of weakness.Hgh felt more squishy to me ,had ZERO hard cc just more aoe and people complained like crazy..I think you need a reality check.Enjoy it but dont be delusional ..things gonna go down.I hope the duration of weakness on skills as well.

I’ve played a lot a build tat give me the ability to cure conditions all the possible ways (I’m Guardian). But yeah, necros kill me easy.
They use the sigil to give me all the conditions and do a crit. Then I’ve all the condition for all the time of this word. Then I active Purity. Yeah, I’ve all the buffs of this game at once! BUT they use the ability to transform all my boon in condition. kitten! Ok, but I’ve shout and virue! I cure 7 conditions. and have a lot of buffs. Then the necro do the 5 skill of the focus and give me awy 3 boons, and I take a large amount of damage. Then it attack me easy whit scepter, giving me poison, cripple and bleed and I can’t defend myself from it. Then it’s only a question of time (and not a long time because I’ve a very very low hp because of my class) and I’m death.
Now I play a berserker build, whit I sometimes kill a necro. I can’t pretend to kill it because I cure my conditions but because I kill it before it’s conditions kill me. Then I go downed by the remaining conditions but I’ve try to kill it. But the necro have a very large amount of hp and isn’t a easy class to take down. And while I’m attacking, the necro’s not there taking my hit. He do fear, attack and evade. And there’s the situation where I’ve not all my skills ready to fight. Purity has a delay of 48 sec whit the trayt. In 48 sec I die 6 time by a necro debufs…

Now, I don’t say to nerf the necro, just: please, balance it.

I agree. I would also switch Terror and Withering Precision in the trait line. The mix of Dhuumfire and current incarnations of Doom and Terror are too much.

But I think balance problems are being overblown. Necromancers still fall over to focus damage more so than any other class.

Necros may fall over to focus damage but a team running two necros is scarier than a team running two of…. anything really. Two necros can well/mark bomb a point and wipe a good majority of a team. Maybe the guys with good condi cleanses are left over but they won’t be long.
I main a Mesmer a class that sucks in condition cleanse and even when using abilities that would help me cleanse 6 conditions (Mantra of Recovery w/menders purity and Mantra of resolve) plus restorative mantras I still cannot out heal necros conditions and shattered conditions is still a very lack luster trait even post patch. Did necros need buffs.. Sure… but now with condition duration they can do perma burning (remember when everyone hated HGH engis for this reason)

I don’t want to be quick to scream OP at necros… But I think ANET may have over done it. Necros needed help in the area of survivability. Now they don’t need the survivability because they have burst conditions that destroy almost everyone around them…. When even the most condition clearing speced classes cannot clear the conditions fast enough… We have a problem.

I actually know a few necros that are hoping something gets nerfed as one of my long time necro buddies said “Now every moron with a half a brain can face roll necro”

Edit: And I feel the same way about my Mesmer build. Now every joker is running a PU build when I was running it before a whiff of the buff came through.

Lame stuff sucks. Yeh I can kill or die to another necro by going condi spam into fear into more fear into more fear. That isnt skill. It is lame. Necro vs necro used to be skill based.

Something needs to be done. The necro didnt need ANY buffs beyond burning and the new ds 5 ability. Remove all the other stupid buffs.

I would say the burning would be the one thing that put it over the top. With the condition duration it is easily permanently applicable and the other conditions are just icing on the cake.
