Two problems with that line of thinking:
This bug affects every class, even those that aren’t overpowered, such as dagger thieves.
The problem isn’t so much how poison is bugged but that it’s bugged at all. A healing debuff not working is a fundamental mechanical flaw in a game. If Guild Wars 2 is to become an e-sport, it can’t have such huge mechanics breaking on a whim and staying broken for a month or more.
They broke it so the necro doesn’t kill as fast.

As a necromancer, I don’t have this problem because Consume Conditions actually benefits from poison.
But the problem was immediately obvious to me the first time I poisoned an engineer who dropped Elixir R to give me enough time to finish him. Before a recent patch, I could do that consistently. Now, it’s impossible.
Is this because you are a thief and hide in shadows cleanses poison before the heal?
Am I good?… I’m good.
Can anyone test it ?
also, Throw Elixir R removes a condi, making it possible to remove that poison if timed right
I haven’t tested it but if this is true, a fix will help alot of non-necromancer condition builds.
Just tested in private arena with a buddy.
Lowered him down, let him heal, healed for approx 5.4k.
Lowered him again with poison, let him heal, healed for approx 5.4k.
We ensured his heal did not remove conditions, nor was there any cleanses that could have ticked right before the heal. Additionally, poison continued through the heal.
From my very limited testing; it doesn’t appear to reduce healing in PvP.
This is a huge problem. Part of good playing is knowing when to apply poison if you have access to it. This needs attention and a hotfix.
If It is then… lets hope some dev attention :S an actual mechanic not working as intended is a pretty big deal, hopefully I’ll be fixed by the time I get back From my trip
Let’s make sure this isn’t swept under the carpet. I would love to have developer acknowledgment on this issue.

I’m glad other people realize this is huge.
The worst part is it massively lowers the skill cap. Managing downed players with poison was a huge part of high-rated play before this bug kicked in.
Wow, yep, tested it several times on Necro in HotM using Poison on myself and healing with Well of Blood and Signet of the Locust.
Without Poison: Well of Blood – 5296/174, Signet of the Locust – 789

Poison was never removed prior or after the heal was cast. Pretty disappointing.
Really!? I’d better play my guardian then. Poison used to almost insta kill me on my healing build bunker.
OMG this explain why my p/s eng dont work well againt bunker/healing power, pistol #2 efect is placebo I hope they fix this soon :/

I think its a coding issue. I was killing some mobs in Orr and was near a dwayna statue (one which reduces heals on you). I still healed up pretty much the same so I think general code for “reducing healing” is not working

This could have been caused by Anet fixing rangers evasive purity trait ( removes blind and poison on dodge roll). It was bugged and didn’t do anything, then it got fixed about a month ago. Some coding could have been botched when they fixed it.

Poison used to work 100% of the time. For whatever reason it was broken recently, however it does still work fine at times (just rarely though). Then there’s this additional bug where poison has been cleansed, yet your healing is still reduced.
Seems like Weakness now reduces heal.

This carries over to PvE and stacks if you down. There’s a particularly irritating bug that if Bloomhunger in fractals downs someone by poison they are un-resable. All 4 party members can be healing them and their health will not regenerate.
Possibly related to same coding error.

People keep saying that, but it’s a silly rumor that I have been trying to do away with for over a week. When I first heard about this rumor, I didn’t want to completely discard it, so I tested several heals under weakness and never was the healing reduced at all.
The sample size of a 100 casts should be more than plenty to statistically prove weakness does not reduce healing (especially since the chance would have to be 50%).

It’s ironic how the current necromancer meta is not even as strong as it was meant to be.
I tested weakness when testing poison. It absolutely doesn’t reduce healing.
This explains somethings I’ve been noticing…

Can confirm. Just tested in heart of the mists against npcs with my necromancer. Well of Blood healed for the same amount regardless of poison. ( used corrupt boon for self inflicted poison ). I recommend also reporting this in the bug section of the forums.

Edit: Although this will probably be VERY unlikely to be fixed in the upcoming election patch, will this be hotfixed relatively soon? This is fairly game breaking when trying to counter people reviving others and not being able to reduce the rate that they revive to try and ensure a stomp.

Hopefully it’ll come sooner than that turret fix I’ve been waiting for.
So this explains why elixir r is still used.
While you’re all at it, please reduce the poison duration and frequency that certain classes can apply it. Thanks!
