Hey all! Poison is indeed not currently working as intended (though there are some instances where it will still reduce healing). We’re aware of the issue and it will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

I guess I should be happy that it’s been acknowledged, but I can’t get over that such a fundamental mechanic was bugged for a month. That this wasn’t hotfixed today is telling.
Once again, if Grievous Wounds was bugged in League of Legends, there’s no doubt it would be fixed within hours of Riot finding out.
If nobody reports bugs, then nobody knows it is broken. This thread was made a day ago, why not a month ago?
Do you think this kind of bug would make it live in League of Legends to begin with? Do you think such a huge bug would have gone uncaught by that game’s developers for a month? I seriously doubt it. That’s what the QA department is for.
But let’s assume that, for whatever reason, it’s on us to catch the bug and report it. OK, I did. Why wasn’t it hotfixed today? It’s a huge, game-breaking bug.

Either the developers are too slow or they don’t feel enough urgency when dealing with these issues. Both of those present big problems for the future of the game as an e-sport.

I’m sorry, things like this should be hotfixed near immediately. This is such a large bug and things like this should be taken care of quickly, not whenever the next patch is released.

Poion is IMHO a bit too strong/prevalent with most classes having easy access to it and the ridiculous durations…. IMHO something so game changing as a 50% heal debuff needs to be more skillshot based not put down and forget about during an opening rotation.

It’s 33% btw. The only thing that comes to mind as being OP is the engineer’s poison grenade that is like a minute of instant poison if you touch the field.

Yea I was referring MOSTLY to Engineer’s grenade spam, but
Necro Scepter autoattack(PoisonWeakness3bleedBurning COMBO lol) has really good uptime Thief dagger autoattack has a pretty good duration for spamability, so does Ranger’s ’Stalker’s strike’ (10s)..
At least Thief Dagger autoattack is melee range. Necro scepter is 900 range with no visible projectile so it has practically 100% accuracy outside obstructed situations.
Yea necro scepter 1 spam is ridiculous; Extremely fast Undodgeable (basically); 60% to crit extra bleed, 50% To crit Burning 50% to crit weakness, Poisons on 3rd strike,
I’ve taken Glass engies/thieves to 25% hp with just 2 chains..
Was Poison fixed with this new patch?
It’s not mentioned so I’m inclined to say no.

Thanks for bringing attention to this bug OP. I use Choking Gas a lot in WvW, so this is an important fix.

The patch isn’t actually live yet. But if it wasn’t fixed today, we have a serious problem with Guild Wars 2’s future as an e-sport.

Yep, tested it under the same conditions in HotM, it works there.
They should really post saying they fixed it or something. Only reason we have to in-game test everything is because:
1) there’s not enough transparency on the patch notes
2) skills/traits tooltips are often vague or incomplete
