Pre-made party must not play vs random people

Because of the fact that Guild Wars 2 Support Team can’t give me any reasonable explanations, I’m forced to write here…

I’ve noticed that some “tricky” players use software like “TeamSpeak” (software that allows computer users to speak on a chat channel with fellow computer users) to gain advantage in PvP coordinating their actions while other “random” players need to cooperate spontaniosly. They often have 3-4 people in party but they don’t represent the same guild – that’s why the system doesn’t identify them as one guild (and maybe doesn’t try to find for them other organized guild). This gives them enormous advantage among random people and kills the fair play in PvP, either solo gaming.
I would like to attract your attention to the original Guild Wars where there were 2 types of recruiting people for PvP: random (NO PARTY) and command.

Also I’d like to add “point 22” from “Guild Wars 2 Rules of Conduct”. Organized playing with random players obviously is some sort of match manipulation and it ruins game experience of other players who try to play fair.

OK, somebody will say that he/she saw that TS pre-made party was beaten by random people. I’ll say that every rule has an exception. And random people can beat a group with TS. But it is an exception, the chances are very low. The “rule” is pre-made party coordinated by TS will win the match vs ordinary random people. Almost always.

If the system can’t find for organized guild relevant guild it will connect them with random party for supporting the pace of matching. So particularly in this situation the random party is unlucky and it’s OK. Nevertheless, I’m about the situation where pre-made party with TS tries to hide their pre-made nature. If you say that they “could be good friends”, I don’t doubt. But as I remember this game is called “Guild Wars”… “GUILD” and even gives possibilities for players to be members of many guilds. So why “good friends” don’t have space for a PvP guild as they do PvP with each other? The answer is – it is profitable (and I insist on the terminology of “match manipulation”). To my mind, this “phenomenon” kills PvP as much as using “bots” kills in-game economy.

I suggest to cancel the opportunity to play pre-made parties who don’t represent the same guild vs random people. They will play vs others organized guilds. That will be fair and correspond with the name of this game. And these parties will wait in queue as much as possible. On the one hand it will become unprofitable for them (for pre-made parties without one guild represented), but on the other hand the interest of solo-gamers will be protected by the system and the skill and popularity of team plays will be increased because people who have the purpose to be on the top in PvP ratings don’t always rely on RNG. It means that there will no be “intentional free wins”, only skill and sometimes luck (when the system can’t find relative guild).

Let’s discuss this problem. I also hope that this topic will be seen by the development team…

Nothing to discuss really. That’s just what happens when you’re trying to go full on #esports in a game that has a 150 player base (slight exaggeration, but you get the point), because that basically limits you to two options:

a) Mess it up with horribly imbalanced matches (premade teams vs. random teams, big differences in MMR/league ratings, etc.)

b) Mess it up by providing fair matches (no premade teams vs. random teams, no big differences in MMR, etc.) that result in ridiculous queue times.

Either way, you mess it up.

Assuming that ArenaNet permits free-to-play accounts to play PvP, nowadays the solo-gaming aspect (especially in PVP) is much more important then supporting an old “corrupted” method of imbalanced matchmaking.
The real madness is to do the same thing every time hoping for changes. Maybe if the development team releases “option b)” it will give chances for solo-gamers and enlarge the player base?
I know only one thing that something has to be changed!

Your post is badly written but i managed to understand that you’re wrong about the whole hidden friend, party, guild w/e thing you talked in your first post.

P.S. If League of Legends is changing its matchmaking to resemble the GW2 one than maybe its not so bad.

Ok, I’ll explain the terminology FOR YOU:
1) random people – people who play solo in PvP and just push the start button. They are victims. They must be protected.
2) pre-made party (only in OP) – people who use soft like TS and don’t represent the same guild for gaining enormous advantage among “random people”. They are match-manipulators. They should be fixed.
3) guild – pre-made party who uses soft like TS and expects other guild as possible opponent. Such people are e-sportsmen. They shouldn’t be fixed.
Is that clearer to you? I really tried to write simple sentences and not to utilize difficult language constructions…

5 people repping a guild on mics and 5 people who party up using mics but don’t rep the same guild have the same MMR boost. I don’t know where you got your info, but it’s wrong. 5 partied up people don’t have any more of an advantage over another group of 5 people doing the same thing but repping a guild.

Also, don’t get mad at other people for being confused about your post. Your grammar is awful, it’s not their fault.

You are right that 5 partied up people don’t have any more of an advantage over another group of 5 people doing the same thing but repping a guild"! But either “guild” or “pre-made party” do have enormous advantage among “random people”. To prove that I’m wrong you must give an official info that the majority of players don’t play solo in PvP.

What’s wrong with my grammar? Not too short sentences? Many complex constructions? Oh, do I need to apologize for that? But “it’s not my fault” that you are used only to chat.

No, your grammar is just way off.

“not too short sentences?”
“..that you are used only to chat.”
“Nevertheless, I’m about the situation…”

Just a few examples of sentences you wrote that, while I can understand, don’t make sense grammatically. So, please don’t try to belittle people about “difficult language constructions”.

Lol. You’re reaching now. Sure, Evan and Gaile both responded, but only Evan mentioned MMR. Do you really need more than 1 dev saying the term MMR in one thread?

But let’s return to the topic because it was the third (1-grammar, 2-MMR) path of my original answer to you. Any ideas how to fix the problem of pre-made parties?

I wouldn’t call players who use comunication tools tricky, it is a valid form or organization that rends good results, there should tho be an option ingame for other players to have the same advantages (voice chat chanel for party?) …
Aside from the tools, my opinion to the matter is that organized play is ok but there should be a place for more casual pvp to take place…. maybe remove the option of teamed up players to hot join matches? … -waits for the hot join farmer guilds to wield the “I wan’t to play with friends argument” … even while they can do it in ranked/unranked-

This is ridiculous lol… On top of that OP is being a kitten to everyone who so much disagree… OP you look like you’re 12 and your grammar is indeed awful, nothing to do whatsoever with “complex sentences” or whatever you call them. And you didn’t even know that MMR was a thing in this game… Going as far as to mock people who tries to argue with you.
Immature OP, ignorant post.

In term of match making there is virtually no problem with grouping with what you call “random people” and grouping with guilds. The matchmaking rules are exactly the same and will apply on both case.
In fact, I’d go as far as to wager that, in most case, queuing outside of a guild may prove to be more hazardous since you may not know the players you’re queuing with as well as those from your guilds.
On another note, your idea of restricting parties based on guild appartenance is ludicrous. Many of my friends are not in the same guild as I for the same reason I’m not in the same guild as them : we already have five guilds that we represent often enough to stay in them.
