I have had enough to lose my matches becuase premades. I am a solo queuer player and the premades are the main reason of all my loses. Too many times i lost games becuase some players where very bad and enemy was godlike, at end i discovered they are premades: 1diamond with 1amber, 2amber with 1sapphire and one ruby, 1emerald with 1amber and 2diamonds and so on. To not mention the 4man guild premades and there is ME trying to do something with people that comes in ranked to do guild mission.

Guild premades are terrible and i allways hope i don’t have them on my side, if people like so much to do partys in ranked why they come as 4 or 3 and 2 players but not as five.
I hate anykind of premades and i speak only for ranked, because they make everything harder and some times impossible. I am in ruby and everytime i am close to get diamond i get into hordes of this premades that will result in having lose streaks of 4-6 matches and need to start over and over again.

If this is anet way to stop solo players from climbing ladder, i consider to never partecipate in spvp again.

In my opinion, and please note I only ever solo queue, ranked should be only 5-man teams. That in itself would solve so many complaints in this forum about being matched with bad teammates. Sure everyone wants the shinies, but the shinies shouldn’t just be handed out to every random joe that pops his head in to grind for prizes.

Now they could leave unranked for solo queue players that want to have some fun in PvP or farm reward tracks, or they could make a seperate league with seperate rewards for solo players (aka bring back solo queue, though I am against this option).

If they are looking to make Ranked queue a competitive environment and offer rewards and treat it as a way into the pro leagues, then it needs to be for 5-man premade teams only. And I know people will hate that and complain about how hard it is to put together a team, but if playing in Ranked matches and going for those rewards required you to be in a 5-man party, then I have a feeling that people would be putting in more effort to form teams and that process would become much easier. Would also help if Anet took extra steps to make forming a team easier, much like the lfg tool (not sure if the lfg tool is working in sPvP yet, is it?).

The solution to this conundrum is quite simple, have a separate queue for teams and another for “pugs” like we used to. We used to have Tournament mode that was the closest equivalent to ranked we had at launch… if memory serves that was specifically for 5man teams and worked, for the most part, fine.

I’ve only ever had good experiences going against premades as solo. I think the matchmaking heavily penalizes 4 and 5-person teams when facing solo queuers.

The only time it has been a problem is in Stronghold where you’ll get coordinated groups of ele’s and druids escorting door breakers and there’s literally nothing you can do to stop them.

The problem with Solo Queue and Team Queue existing side by side with the same rewards is it offers little incentive for people to play team queue. People are lazy, and they will take the easiest route if the rewards are the same. This creates much larger queues for Team Queue, which is why the two were merged to start with.

Well to be honest at this point ANet’s hands are pretty much tied. sPvP a way far too gone to do much of anything. I say this because if ANet only forced Pre made queues and solo player queues, then like said above team queues would be much much longer then they already are then the pre mades leave GW2. If ANet forces everybody to make a team, then the solo queuer’s that are left now playing GW2 would quit GW2 aswell.

This was a basic problem that should’ve been dealt with in Season One. Now there is just not enoth players playing sPvP for ANet to do anything about the problem, they let their chance for GW2 to have glorious pvp about 100 miles in back of them on the road, while stubbonly clutching to ideal that GW2 would magicly be a eSport by ignoring the solo queuing players. Now instead of being anything close to a eSport GW2’s sPvP mode is just loudest laughing joke in the competitive world of eSports. While at the same time many many players are just quitting by the boat load because they are fed up with being ANet’s cattle for so call pro Pre Mades to get easy wins.

I maybe a troll with class.
But at least I admit it!

Ideally there should be a Team Queue and Solo Queue, and never the two shall meet. But I imagine ANet can’t do this because:

1. What happens if you get 4 people teaming up? Who’s going to fill the last slot?

2. As most of you know, the people teaming up for PvP is far, FAR smaller than the people just yolo-queuing. Splitting the queues will thus most likely result in a great increase in the queue time for people in Team Queue, when you take into consideration things like division and MMR.

The solution to this is to add a new opt-in option called “Allow me to be matched with Team Queues.” As a reward for opting to be included in Team Queue match-ups even if you’re Solo Queuing, even if your team loses, you don’t lose any pips. Furthermore, if your team includes randoms, if your team did decently enough (say, a 300 – 500 match when your team was a 3-man + 2 pugs vs a 5-man), you may even gain pips on a loss.

That should sufficiently incentivize players to tick the option and thus still allow Team Queues to function, while also preventing people who don’t want to see any premades at all from ever being included in such matches.

Sorry but gw2 pvp is a team game. Not sure why a solo queue even needs to exist.

  • People want to play in a competitive environment but can’t be bothered to group up with 4 other players?
  • A large portion of complaint threads in this forum are people blaming their losses on matchmaking giving them bad teammates. And yet again, no desire to make a team?
  • People constantly complaining about being matched against premades, and still no desire to make a team?

So long as PvP attempts to cater to every PvE player out there, it will never be a truly competitive environment for the majority of players. Limiting Ranked to premades only:

  • Allows you to group with players you feel you can trust to perform well.
  • Encourages players to use Unranked if they want to solo queue and practice.
  • Cuts down on toxic players when eventually nobody wants to team up with them.

The only reasons I’ve ever seen given on why people prefer to solo queue is either they feel it is too difficult to form a team or they just enjoying being unsocial loners.

Personally, I’ve never had a problem finding people in the mists to team up with. Anet could help make this process easier by improving lfg tools for sPvP players.

As for those unsocial guys, I wouldn’t want them in my match anyways. They are usually off doing their own thing, while either ignoring the rest of the team or insulting everyone and being toxic.

Players can’t be bothered to form teams because they can get the same rewards queueing solo as they can queueing as a team. There is a lack of players because there is a lack of any real competitive scene outside of pro leagues.

Allowing players to solo queue for ranked isn’t solving anything but queue times. Low queue times mean nothing if the majority of matches are bad. Drawing in PvE players with shinies just adds in more solo queuers and higher chances of getting clueless teammates.

If the current population can’t support 5v5 matches, then an attempt to introduce 2v2 and 3v3 matches should be made.

Reducing the quality of matches just to attempt to increase the quantity of players shouldn’t happen. If Anet wants to bring in more actual PvP players then they need to focus on creating a better quality, more competitive sPvP scene.

Who had the best pugs or the best casual combination won the match easy.

Anyway remove the Team composition from a Team based PvP is like remove all the commanders and battle signals from WWW and prevent any guild raid group to play. why they make WWW unbalanced making rush all the time. The entire game section will lose it’s sense!

Is more good to ask for the opposit thing: make pugs and little teams to join Unranked but make only premades able to join Ranked, adjusting the reward and all.
That will force people to play with a sense, making teams to win, studying a strategy, playing classes with specific personal builds, organize entire sPvP guilds to find players to do ranked in a structured playstyle.

I vote for make Ranked sPvPa 5vs5 Premade only.
(basicly that’s the sense of a Team Based Structured Player Versus Player, isn’t it?)

Im sorry but this thread really gets to me, ranked is for competitive play.

I find many of my team mates to be very competitive yet make bad decisions/rotations/ type what they want other players to do and those are wrong as well.

I and a guild team mate did some games together and went 6-1. Hes sapphire and once again this is my problem with the PiP system. Im sorry but its obvious many of the people who complain are not very good and seem to think they are the mighty gods of the human race. If we are honest it doesnt matter if you are solo queing/team queing you probably are not good enough if you are losing so handily in your current matches.

Facts-

*The badge by your head doesnt mean ability among players

  • Solo que/team que/ is not the reason you are losing
  • Incoming PvE players are not throwing out your ability to win fights

I have my own issues with the PvP system such as que times/ obtaining the rank you want to earn/ build diversity but ranked teams/partial ranked teams are not the reason you are losing.

If people are dead set on having a PvP stream that’s only for “serious PvP’ers”, that’s fine. The same way that solo queuers don’t want to be matched up against premades, I can appreciate the desire to only play with people who are committed enough to want to put in the effort to strategize, finetune their builds and communicate with each other. But be careful what you wish for when you talk about making things more exclusive or kicking the “baddies” out. You might find yourself in an even worse state of PvP.

Allowing solo players in unranked to get the same league achievements as the teams playing in ranked would take away the incentive to play ranked. Again, sacrificing the quality of sPvP in a poor attempt to increase the quantity of sPvP players is not the way to go.

This is exactly what will happen unless the rewards everyone is after are limited to ranked team queue only. I’ve said it many times now, people will take what they perceive to be the easiest route. They would rather solo queue and grind out matches with horrible players and then complain about it because it is “faster”, rather than take a few minutes to group up with other players and queue as a team which would probably increase their win/loss ratio and actually be faster in the long run.

Not every premade has voice coms. Every premade I’ve been a part of has never used voice coms. I guess we are good enough to no use it.

You guys need to understand i complain in the post about the premades i have on my side not the enemy one. I don’t care about enemy premades, i hate those premades on my team that keeps making me lose when i reach last pips for diamond to push me back. Now i started to spvp again after i got a break since last time i posted this thread and 3 games allready made me lose interest again and i will blame again the bad premades i was matched with. For example i lost a match having a thief diamond premade with some ele bunker emerald, they where bad but the thief was the worst thief i ever had to play with, even the enemy team started to point this out.

In my oppinion this game has the most horrible pvp balance and even worst matchup settings i have ever played, but the fact that i am punished to lose matches on porpuse to give me that 50/50 ratio, putting me togheter with the same players i had lost allready so many times but never that i was against them and then i get even some diamond players premading up with very low tier just to add more frustration to the match is beyond me. To think i have left league of legends to play this game in a competitive way and even bought the game just for the elitism makes me feel like a stupid. Enough said.

It isn’t going to happen. We used to have team and solo que, and they had to merge them because the pvp community isn’t big enough to support both. No matter how much time and effort Anet invests in bringing more players to PvP it simply doesn’t catch on with the esports crowd they want to capture, or draw enough interest from the GW2 PvE crowd.

Basically, it is an unpopular mode in an unpopular PvP game. That is why they merged ques, and even then there are still massive wait times to find matches due to this low population of players. You’d be even more salty about 15 minute ques all the time than losing a match because you got set up with bads.

Also, you’re playing solo and complaining that you get random teammates you can’t control. That’s what happens. You told the game you wanted to be put on a team with four random people you don’t know.

If you expect to have reliable teammates in a team based game, you might want to, you know, form a team before you start playing it.

That’s some impressive revisionist history. When they removed solo queue, every third thread on this forum for a year was “bring back solo queue”.
