Problems finishing downed players
If you use quickness, stomp happens actually a bit after animation is over. Most likely you moved and cancelled it before the stomp actually registered.
because gratitude is a burden and revenge a pleasure.”
Thanks for the answer.
So that means thakittens not viable any more to stomp with quikness?
While i was playing yesterday i saw some rangers using quikness to finish someone and they died right after the stomp.
Maybe some kind of bug?
It should work if you don’t move right after your stomp animation has finished, I’ts been like this for a while, when using quickness. But yeah, I don’t think it’s intended to happen.
What’s been really annoying me lately is triggering stomps when you try to cast spells next to a body.

I had such a problem yesterday trying to finish a necro. I tried to stomp him 4 times but it didn’t work. The reason it didn’t work was that he was not where he seemed to be. My pet was attacking “thin air” a few feet away from me while I was trying to finish him where I saw his character.
He obviously wasn’t there but where my pet was attacking. In the end I just finished him with damage. This might be a new bug. Never had that happen before the last patch.
It could be a lag issue, seen this before where the player isn’t actually in stomp range although their character model is.

I’ve had problems finishing since around the release of gw2. I’ve been going through various exercises with my partner, but it doesn’t seem to be a connection issue. Really glad to hear I’m not alone in this struggle, and I hope it will be resolved soon <3

Don’t fix it if it aint broken son.

Hehe ^^
Down-state does add depth and strategy, only that same depth overshadows preexisting depth; shifts the priority of ones tools and abilities elsewhere.
If you’re gonna argue down-state, you have to accept both points of validation
I actually (when I used to play) like the skill involved in managing a downed player, at the expense of the player of-course ;P
However this in no way, shape or form adds jurisdiction that down-state isn’t of bad design
Edit: What? No silly emote? shame
Double Edit: Now whether down-state increases depth is another question entirely

That’s a lag issue. I live in Australia, 300ms on a good day. If I try to jump down a ledge (in vapour form) the enemies down me on the ledge, even though I’m looking at them from a pretty far distance.
Best bet would be to reposition the stomp so your character was between the necro and the place your pet was attacking. This does work, ever downed a Mesmer that ported behind you? Same principle
