Yeah right, that’s the spirit, let’s all abuse and exploit as the Dev’s don’t care anyway.

Personnaly i just won’t, i don’t play to get bored farming and i know my little lvl 37 is deserved.
I’ll only be happy when the guys that farmed skyhammer will get banned or their glory removed. But Anet don’t have the guts to do it, they will never ban 90% of the small pvp player base.

So, what’s left for pvp?
Rank doesn’t mean anything.
Number of tournys played also because of major sync and luck.
I have like 40 loose on soloQ, almost all because of AFK, 4vs5 and people syncing.
I’ve seen so many 40+ in soloQ that barely know how to play, this is disgusting.
Most frustating pvp experience in my game experience.

So thank you Anet to reward the ones that exploit and punish the ones that play normally and follow your rules. The regular players gets even double punished because the farmers have a lot of glory so when Anet will add more reward, they will have even more.

Also, Dev’s could just delete Skyhammer which is the worst map created, even worst than capricorne and delete the glory/rank earned on that map, only farmers will rage !

Who cares if they are rank50? I would think that farming is kind of boring so they deserve bags at least.

Here? I hope for their own sanity that nobody cares anymore… Since anybody who really cared and for who this specific achievement was important should have probably left by now – in outrage.

Personally I made the active decision “not to care”, but I’m still not happy about this though.

The problem isn’t really rank so much. It’s the fact Anet has been talking about maybe doing glory to gold. So all those people that exploit and do this have a huge advantage. So when the new rewards systems comes out or whatever it’s going to benefit the grinders.

Stop lying to yourself, farmers are as useful to the PvP community as people AFK during a dungeon, and nobody would be sad to see them go.

It’s hot-join because due to meta fail, matchmaking fail, leaderboard fail and now this rank farm fail, pretty much no one takes sPvP seriously anymore, so most action IS in hot-join, ergo the screenshots. -)

Well that’s cool. Hell why not speed up every PVE grind as well? Let’s just give everybody a legendary after a few hours of grinding. I mean it took me so long to get my Sunrise. By this time next week I want to have every legendary!

The Problem is, that skyhammerfarming has nothing to do with pvp.
For a PvP player who actually FIGHTS for gaining some glory, it realy frustrating, that the most effective way of glory gane is “PvE-Style”, where nothing is about competiting / duelling / fighting / tactics, it is just about well timed mass-suicide.

What about adding better ways for PVP players to get glory then? If you can get r80 in 1000 hours by legit playing less people would try to exploit.

leave them the ranks, add an UN-removable custom title called “Skyhammer Farmer”.

The Glory/Rank-System is far away from perfection, however this doesnt give anybody the right to abuse gamemechanics.

Well, at least we can still look at the pvp leaderboards if we want to see if anyone is good. Amiriteguys? lol.

First thing that they HAD to do when this started was,take the map out and only put it back in after it was made unfarmable.

now the ONLY thing pvp players had to show for they’re efforts is meaningless.
pvp in this game is in a awful state and now, by allowing ppl to farm ranks this… It it diving the few legit pvp left away from spvp and in some cases the game.

Seeing R40 and R50 in PVP disgusts me right now. I know some of them earned their ranks in legit matches throughout a long span of time but knowing that others just easily farmed their ranks for a couple days in broken custom arenas in this sad state of PVP we are in is just downright a hard kick in the nuts of a 90-year old dying man with prostate cancer. Like seriously.

2 fixes for this @ arenanet

1. make falling in skyhammer portal back to spawn with 10 sec timer and NOT dieing
2. show matches played behind the title so everyone see this skyhammerheros

PVE Exploit = Hot fix + Ban + removed items that players won
PVP Exploit = No fix, no ban and no remove rank until ???
They really don’t care of PvP compared to PvE

If Anet don’t want to take fast decisions about ban players, I propose to rename “glory” to “XP” like in PvE because there is no fame, no merit to farm like that, and of course add a rank/title for hotjoin and another rank/title for tournaments.
And only players from tournament could /rank their enemies. :o

Real problem is that sh ranks are worth nothing, even more if someone made it from 1 to 50+ (There are many) with no clue about tpvp and stuff…but at the end of the day hotjoin ranks are not worth something more than sh (Jumping down a window or spamming granades on the zerg @ mid are equally skilled imo)…farmers are gonna farm no matter what, if they want to force ppl out of farming they must delete hotjoin/arenas already giving better modes and rewards for tpvp..right now if you want to keep up with ppl farming 10 hours/day the only thing you can do is to go farm yourself too, you can get 5-8k/hour at skyhammer…last night i went 10 tpvp runs with bunker guardian in friend’s team, won like 7-8…result? less than 3k glory (For more than 2 hours) and crap chests already added to my 200+ stack on guardian (+ others on mes and thief)…not even worth opening..

Again skyhammer farm is lame…like hotjoin farm is lame too

But real question is: “Which other mode is more rewarding than lamefests atm?”

You’re judging somebodys skill level off of a hotjoin game, do you really think the majority of high rank players care about winning hotjoins? Personally I did hotjoins for kittens and giggles with friends or farmed glory in them. Why do you think your team has a kitten load more glory than the other team?

But actually I vote for a perma dishonered buff… for everyone who logged into a “Skyhammer farming server” more than 5 hours. They knew they abusing a mechanics and thus they had to be aware of the risks that arenanet “might” do something.

If by the end of the day there is no official reply stating that they will take measures against those who farmed, I will also start to do this.. .I can’t pass the opportunity to go from rank 45 to 60 and get 1500 AP in return (gold, laurels, acc bonus, badges, etc).

At the end of the day you can easily spot out who farmed his rank and who didn’t…or you can just ping you stacks of tpvp chests just to give an idea xD I saw many around seeing ravager and starting with “skyhammer farm” and stuff…and then being owned like pigs by a poor almost-out-of-meta mesmer..maybe while they play s/d thief too…and then rage mesmer op qq….some weird ppl around…

There’s a difference from going from 1 to 60 in skyhammer and goin from 57 to 60 with 2000+ tpvp matches just because 150k with current tpvp rewards it’s insane (Even more if you’re forced to play bunker guard since you refuse to go lame fotm (months actually) s/d on thief and mesmer is just…meh…), and ppl usually learn it the hard way..totally fine on deleting sh or even all hotjoin/arenas, but for god’s sake give us decent rewards in tpvp or ppl are gonna quit really fast…like many already did

Rank 50 gives 500, not 5k, This sums how how much you know about PvP or ranks, since I’m sure you don’t have these achievements.

On the other hand, with Symbolic’s case I just wanted to point out you don’t know the scene either. So basically, what are you doing here? Defending Skyhammer farmers, since I assume that’s the only thing you do in “PvP”.

So I had typed out a nice big response to this, but then I timed out of my account and lost it, and frankly its not worth the effort a second time (yay for kitten forum system).

Anyway, the TL;DR is don’t kitten about PvE when you very obviously have no idea what you’re talking about. There have been exploits that were common knowledge and abused by everyone for months and not a kitten person saw as much as a slap on the wrist for it. PvE is a game of being the first to exploit to get ahead, and as long as you don’t destroy the entire game’s economy in the process, not a single thing will happen to you.

The same exact statements can be said about PvE accomplishments. They have zero show on skill etc. Everything in this game is cosmetic and titles, so how is this not a big deal? If soloq leaderboard ranks really matter i peaked @ #8 in eu and #1 in na. hotjoin isn’t competitive, get over it. I was simply trying to make the point not everybody is a skyhammer farmer and just because his team ‘barely’ won isn’t indicative of anybodys skill level that played during that game.

I still try to believe in Anet, even if its hard!

Some of you might remember the GW1 history. Cheaters/botters/exploiters grew big over there without any response of Anet. And then, after months of waiting, Dhuum raised up straight out of hell to soulfarm their worthless accounts. Bam, perma ban!

Maybe a giant skyhammer cannon from outta space would be a good equivalent for this!

You should really get to know the people you talk to before you pass judgement on them.

This is going to be the way it is. Anet says they have changes but shoulda rolled them out they day they started seeing this as a problem.. wait do they even see this as a problem? LOL

I played since beta 1 as a bunker guard and i just recently started playin dps. I am only rank 45 but i gives 2 kittens. Let the farmers farm. It is what it is.

I understand people who are angry about skyhammer farming. But on the other side – why do you care so much about it? I mean we all spend a lot of time for this game. But now it’s really time to consider that GW2 is lost for competitive players. What did PvP players got until now? Like nothing? So why still complaining? See it as a “fun game” and go farm skyhammer yourself, and prove Anet how much they have failed until now.

My last hope for PvP in this game is lost – so let’s go for skyhammer, and exploit this broken PvP system.

Totally agree. I have worked hard for getting to around r48 in 1 year. And now noobs getting it in 2-3 weeks. It was the ONLY thing pvp:ers had to feel some sort of accomplishment. Its so kittening sad how this is not taken care of directly, and now it should be reverted. Its to late to “make changes” .. The damage is already done!

We need more solid evidence before accusing anyone.
Let’s look at “Sein Kampf” log.

Delete the accounts of players that have joined a server with “Glory Farm” in the server name and earned points from it.
