PvP Amulets from preview client
We need jewels back, putting all the stats in 1 place is a terrible idea.
What if i want some toughness on my thief, i can take the marauder amulet, but then what? Runes are taken primarily for the effect and then stats, and what if i end up with more precision than i need? There is no way to change some of the stats i have too much of in to something i do not.
PLZ give us jewels back make the amulet/jewel stat split 80/20 or 85/15 plz do not make pvp build crafting even more brain dead than it already is!
hang on, beserker amulet has lost its vitality stats? So now they replace with marauder?
And i also agree that the ‘customisation of pvp stats’ sucks in this game. Giving no build diversity and turning everyone into robots with the same robot builds.
Thats why the ‘meta’ is so more prominent in this game than any other.

Intresting, it looks like the missing stats from traitlines are being amply compensated by amulets, not sure how this is going to play out for classes with low base vitality but still, this opens a lot of options.

Jewels never were that big of a change, the only notable one was the berserker jewel due to 5% crit damage and that was before the introduction of ferocity.
Anyway let’s assume jewels are reintroduced and they factor for 20% of your stats:
+ makes it possible to pick more stat combinations
+ could open up new possibilities for low base hp classes
- promotes the false idea that spvp is about minmaxing stats
- makes it slightly more complex to change builds

They changed berserk and valkyrie switched from toughness to vitality losing healing pow?
They changed the pvp amulets to have the same stat combo as the pve amulets, berserker and valkyrie have the same stat combo in pve and pvp now.
The old berserker pvp amulet is now marauder amulet, the old valkyrie is now crusader amulet.

No. PvP still has a lot less stats in total than PvE. Not to mention that PvE gear also gets boosted stats due to the trait change.
I love these changes, even though I’m a bit worried by the new zerker amulet. The new Valkyrie is gonna be sweet!
Yet, no zealot amulet.
They need more Condtion amulets…

i’d rather the amulets be split in half.
ie: amulet gets half of the stats, and accessory gets the other half. then you could mix and match, say a berserker amulet (600 power, 450 pre, 450 fer) + valkyrie accessory (600 power, 450 vit, 450 fer).
pros:
1) more customization
2) no more need for 4-stat amulets
3) it would simulate 50-50 splits in Pve (one stat on armour and weapons, a different stat on trinketts)
cons
1) there would be 1 more gear slot in PvP (11 instead of 10 slots)
edit: i sure wouldn’t mind seeing Barbarian, Marauder, and Crusader stats in PvE, either. my elementalist would love maruader gear…

Now go through all the meta zerker builds and add up those stats compared to old. There are some discrepancies, but whether or not we can make those up in runes remains to be seen.

Well that’s what I meant, it’s a nerf to squishy zerkers because marauder won’t be as strong and they likely can’t survive without the Hp. Zerkers compared to old Zerkers will do more dps though. I saw on the stream Ferocity leading to 240% crit damage.

These amulets are immediately useless – ferocity without ANY precision is a 100% waste. Perhaps revenants will be able to make use of it (by taking the 30% crit chance from fury, traited), but other classes won’t even bother.
Why isn’t common sense ever used?
Also, eles are now pigeon-holed into:
- Celestial
- Marauder
- Soldier
Having no way to get ANY additional toughness/vitality outside of one amulet, makes amulets with only 1 of the 2 useless. Without vitality, you can get 1-shot from backstabs. Without toughness, you are way too squishy for the vitality to matter. With neither, just a sideways glance is enough to kill, especially with all the ways certain classes can do damage that completely lack counterplay. All that, and the class is STILL pigeon-holed into water/arcana…I guess we should just play engineer with a 20s CD on elixir R.

Basically, low HP classes (guardian, thief, ele) are excluded from using zerker amulet. They can use it but you got to be stupid to run around with 10K HP with all the power creep and condi buff. We will have to use the new Marauder amulet.

that’s not true, I can tell you right away you’ll be seeing some Remorseless ranger builds, which get +25% dmg boost and a crit on the next ability after the proc. Remorseless procs after any new instance of fury. so for example, cavalier rangers will be pretty interesting, not sure yet if effective.
I’ve never understood why we have pvp amulets that give ferocity without precision.
And now, with the removal of precision stat from your trait lines, those amulets look even sillier. Do they assume people running those amulets will have perma fury? Even then, seems like wasted potential.

I feel guardians may be able to make use of it. It just may require a high level of skill. If the extra damage helps w shutting down opponents, then no need for vit! Hopefully

that’s not true, I can tell you right away you’ll be seeing some Remorseless ranger builds, which get +25% dmg boost and a crit on the next ability after the proc. To add there are also a bunch of classes that can generate crit chance without precision at all. Those amulets are for them. I know rangers, warriors, reapers and even guards can use those.

heart skipped a beat when i saw new valk stats but then i noticed and i was like phew. crusader warrior here we come. oh baby.
i have almsot perma fury and duel intel in case you were wondering why i love such an odd amulet.
