It looks as if they are not planning on fixing the algorithm which just SUCKS imo.
The change could only be applied on server-side. I had the same impression a week back – it was wrong.

Even if there wasn’t a change in the matchmaking, they mostly do not let us know if they finetuned stuff.
They changed stuff mid-season 1 and did not post it in patch-updates.
Someone did tell about it a few days later, think it was Evan.

if you’re talking about them changing the way that teams are matched (highest player instead of average mmr) then they gave us almost a weeks notice on that change being implemented last season…
