Woot, someone else agrees w/ 8.2m being the amount of rank you need to reach 80… wiki and anet say 8.9m, but I can’t get that number to work unless getting dragon is different, and you need to fill your r80 bar before you unlock it.

It can’t be 8.9mil, if rank 78-79 would be 1’200 000 Instead of 450 000, or for 79-80 to be 1’500 000 instead of 750 000 then it would be 8.9mil. But that doesn’t make sense so Ill go with 8.2mill

Man we all know they never gave a kitten bout anything pvp related. Focus on casuals and randoms (Just looking at 1-3 keys ftw specs like spirit rangers, hambows and so on, everyone can play with no skills required) already killed this game…they’re just going for the final blow. Can’t even post with first account because i wrote something bad about warrior’s balance and got banned ofc…that’s how it works here..

Already moved to Smite btw..i’m done with this crap, kept playing from start till now but this is more than enough for me, went across every possible kitten in this pvp..from bunker eles to hambows all across bm rangers, dumbfire, spirit rangers, decap engis and on and on and on…but getting trolled too after wasting 1 year and half for getting my efforts paired with every random scrub around? No ty..

With the QQ from all these “awesome” high ranked pvpers I’m starting to feel that this change is even better. Get a little of this toxicity out of the community through a purge.

the only issue with this is that there is nothing BEYOND the “new” dragon.

why does the progression have to end? nobody in wvw is close to reaching rank 9,945 Diamond Legend yet (and still won’t be with account bound wxp) but that’s not being made more attainable….

The WvW rank system is so much better and should be applied to PvP

Plus I would like to see each class you play have a separate rank and MMR, and they each contribute to an overall account rank that progresses towards new titles and achievements.

Example I want to try out necro for awhile, but I don’t want to do it matched against the top of the leaderboards, and I don’t want to learn it in hotjoin. Character-based MMR is much more fun for me in previous games I’ve played.

FYI I was on their side that they deserved compensation for the amount they played…for about 4 days. Blame the people QQing for my change.

this is already a done deal guys, anet have spoken and its a good one majority will enjoy, if you love the game so much why cant you be happy? ask for compromise dont just go say i dont like it and ask for a change that will suit the few of you. suck that you will get less chest but i dont think thats what most of the rank70+ players are complaining about its mostly due to that they only want to be the first dragons or the only ones with more loots and goodies. its either egotistical or just plain greedy. either way we aggree on something you shouldnt have got less than other who put less “TIME” in playing.

Honesty I want to know how many people that are going to “lose out” on a lot of points this is actually going to affect. I don’t see a huge number of 53+ players even in TPvP. ANet has done tons of foolish things in the past but I think even they would take into account how many r53+players there were so I doubt it’s a huge number. I would bet an even smaller number did that LEGITIMATELY.

This new scale looks like it’s going to do a lot more good than ill. Very few would want to work towards rewards that took months of play to reach. If you want ANet to spend more time on PvP there needs to be more obtainable rewards, which means the ranking system shouldn’t scale as ridiculously as it currently does.

Why are you? We all knew when we started PvP what the rewards were and how they compared to time spent in PvE and the gains we could have gotten from there, but we chose to PvP instead, I dare say because we all found it more enjoyable to play than PvE.

I’m not talking about elitism in terms of skill, but in terms of what rank you are, so many, as you can see, use R70 as if it’s a measure of their abilities and use it as a mask of superiority over anyone of lower rank as Seifer Thalaen and others have quite evidently displayed. That is the attitude that makes me not care.

This I can agree with, whilst there have been many threads complaining about how unattainable Dragon is (until people got used to the fact that this was just the way it is going to be), it’s really silly to suddenly make it so easy/quickly attainable – I certainly agree with those who have stated that it has removed a long-term goal to aim for.

This is not a good comparison, you pay to play a game and you chose how much time to spend there, nobody is getting ‘pay’ beyond the rewards that they already knew they were going to be getting.

What is there to be jealous of? Time spent? A reward they aren’t getting? In this case, the rewards I “knew” I would be getting would be a higher rank than players who have played less. The reward for me is prestige and having a finisher that people who have played less than me don’t have.

Personally I would want the “cause” to be supported on its merits – that of players getting screwed out of their time investment. I would be willing to revise my theory if another better fitting motive is provided.

And as for what rewards I think are justified, at the very least r70 players should get one chest for each time they would have ranked up over 80. I mean, who can argue against the fairness of that?

This is why I stated that it was the rank points they were being screwed out of, not some other kind of reward that some people seem to be thinking they are entitled to. Some have mentioned more chests because of the rank up changes going to be retroactive – is that really what everyone wants? A bunch of trash PvE gear? If so, I’ll happily send some people a whole bunch of greens if it’ll stop some of the outrageous attitudes.

This is also why I asked Ostricheggs what he thought would be fair compensation.

For some it may be jealousy indeed, but you cannot attribute that factor to every player who has a difference of opinion – one that they are in fact entitled to. Some players simply don’t care because it’s a video game and doesn’t affect their outside life and who play just for fun rather than getting worked up over something that in the grand scheme of your life isn’t really a big deal. Some have other factors, but you seem to want to pigeon hole anyone who disagrees as jealous just to feebly validate your own claims.

Now immagine you in such position (replace rank points by something you’d like, for example a 3 months resort vacation). Now immagine investing around 6000hours playing GW2 for that resort, but at the end, you instead get a 2week vacation along with everyone who only invested 1000hours.

Don’t brush the situation off by saying its not the same thing, some people see lots of value in prestige that you don’t, theres no reason to argue if you close your eyes to stop yourself from understanding anything thrown at you. Clearly you’re not listening. No matter what is put to you, you want to overstate your idea of jealousy, you’re the equivalent of a child on the playground saying “La la la, I’m not listening to you”.

How are they getting cheated out of rank chests when they’ve already had them? They aren’t getting any less rank chests than someone who is being boosted after the 15th, if anything, those being boosted shouldn’t be given any additional chests for their free ranks because they haven’t earned those ranks in the same way.
