Every prof will change a lot, balance this stuff at beginning will require a lot of work.
Thief seems a nucler weapon, Guardian medi line is amazing.
I have a question for the Q&A: The second blog post said that the Hero Points are strictly only from what is currently Skill Challenges, but what about characters leveled through WvW or Tomes of Knowledge for use in WvW? Won’t this automatically mean that players who’ve chosen to dedicate themselves to WvW cannot earn enough Hero Points to make diverse builds or experiment with builds at will?
Obviously you can tell them to go and complete the Skill Challenges, but if we are talking about even 4 alts (assuming main character has full map completion), grinding all those Skill Challenges can hardly be labeled as fun if you’d rather be out in WvW killing enemies. Couldn’t there be an alternative way to earning the Hero Points through purchasing Hero Point granting items with Badges of Honor and gold?
This question, please. Will hero points drop from PvP reward tracks?

The more you bring to the table with all the changes to the traits the more the table requires CLEANING. Are we gonna get more frequent minor balance patches to balance out the soon-to-be-discovered unbalances in what you are going to bring up in the future? (That has been the case for the past 3 years…)

Lol, ofc we’re not. Don’t be silly. There will be unviable and op classes for a year before they make unvaible and break others.
Thoughts
- Anet changed A LOT OF STUFF. Honestly didn’t expect that. And basically we need to know everything about specializations. But how we know actual builds now is over. Everything will change.
- Condis will change. Poison and burning will stack (lol) and probably other stuff.
- there are A LOT of strong minor traits (basically old Major traits converted in minor traits)
- Many traits focus on replacing stats. I think the new amulet boost won’t cover all the stats we have now on our character from attributes line. So power creep needs to be evaluated. But i think it will be huge.
- Thief Mesmer and Guardian seem to be really strong. Thief most of all
- Engi is totally different. It’s a work in progress, a lot of stuff needs to be decided.
- Ranger has interesting builds
- Condi War seems really strong Necro dunno.

Overall, they took feedback about some procs and put icons or colors on them like people asked.
I’m excited to see such a big shakeup in traits. I don’t think the balance can get any worse than it has become, so I’m cautiously optimistic that this will lead to a better game.
Also hoping the developers will reduce the RNG in the game, and return to the principles of “for every action, an animation”. The current game of sigil and trait procs all over the place, and multiple AoE boon/condition spam per skill…is just such a disgusting game to play in. We’ll see what the future holds.
(Shameless plug for Gw1 balance, the only RNG I can recall was Block% chance, weapon crit, and blind 90% miss)

wheres the AMA notes on other remaining 3 professions?

Was it addressed what would happen with Condition/Boon durations? They did mention that conditions would be a bit more specific, so does that mean we won’t really see any non-specific durations anymore? And how will that work with WvW where people can reduce condition durations by such a massive amount?
