How do you guys feel about 2v2/3v3 arena mode? There have been quite a few 2v2 tournaments on twitch lately and they have been increasing in viewers…one player made tournament had over 1k views at a time. Judging by live viewers, 2v2 seems to be much more popular than conquest.
How does the pvp team feel about a straight up arena mode that you could queue for? Leaderboards would be nice for arena also…but even if it was unrated it would still be fun to play

Also, I’d like to hear what anet thinks of elementalists currently in pvp. As in, what role does the pvp team want eles to have in pvp? Any plans to make them a viable mid bunker on level with guardians, or does anet want eles to fill the role of roamer/dps? Right now it feels like ele is meant to fill a variaty of roles but ends up excelling at none
• Do you feel that the new game-modes/maps will be fun & competitive, yet easy to entertain new players that haven’t played the game yet (watching footage via twitch or youtube) ?
• Will any rewards be altered/edited during this winters-day season?
• Has there been a decision on retroactive rewards based on tourney wins?

Which direction will Anet take with the Elementalist going forward?
Do you have any plans on nerfing pet/AI builds in PvP?
Ranger spirits, Necromancer minions, and Mesmer Phantasms are the prime offenders, no one likes them, they are brain-dead and clutter the screen.
Now, nerfing AI builds in PvP would of course require compensation in other areas for the affected professions, but the main question stands; will you be nerfing pet/AI builds in PvP?

Edit: Can you also discuss what impact our feedback has on potential changes? I feel as though a number of top thief player/theory crafters made a number of well reasoned, polite, constructive criticisms of the changes that went entirely ignored. The results are just as they predicted (thieves being very weak in the current meta/having very few effective spec options), and it feels as though they could have been avoided had Anet taken the time to dialogue with thief players concerning the changes/criticisms.

Deadline of next forum post previewing incoming balance changes. The last one happened quite some time before the patch so I would think we should see the next one for a maybe february 10 patch by now.

-is there a plan for some changes to make skyhammer more enjoyable? i may be ok with not removing it for soloq (because you put a lot of work in it), but you should at least change some things( make the hammer dodgeable!)
- can we have some new maps with less chokepoints and more open-field-battles. Also what are your plans on DTM and GVG. I would love to see 3v3 DTM (i think 3 is enough, more players would cause too much effects)
- Are there plans to reduce the particleeffects?
-what changes to the ranksystem can we expect

-When can we expect Buildtemplates (this is the most important question for me)
Every map has its own style, so its important to change your build, but the current system makes it horrible for me. i have to retrait just because of 5 points in a different line, and my inventory i full of runes and sigills. A lot of people have many chars with the same class because of this)
-pvp-only skins?
-Pls make a 1vs1 q happen (without leaderboards, this would make it horrible, because of hardcounters and trollbuilds)

It’s very easy to get , warriors are over the top.
Then my 2 cents about condi dmge :
Do you think condition domage is ok ? i mean why every Power build has to get 2/3 stats (prec/pow/crit dmge)to be effective + armor/toughness lowering the dmge.When condi builds only need 1 stats to be effective ( condi dmge) .Condi duration is not even a problem considering you can reapply condis really fast at any momments.
Then you have nthing that lower the condi dmge like armor/tough does , you should add some kind of condi resists .
This issue with conditions is responsible of many overpowered build that could be considered as bunker just because they can still ahve very nice tough/healing/hp while having decent condi dmge.
According to most pvp players , bunkers are not enjoyable to fight/play at all.
Conditions are really broken , and from the very first day.

- Can we start getting rid of overpowered passives?
- Can we get rid of oppressive auto-attacks that pile on conditions free of charge?
- Can we tone down the health of AI like rangers? They should die in a single AoE considering how potent their affects, and this will punish people who just run around with a zoo all the time.
- Can we remove all of the % proc traits and runes? These aren’t skill based, they are arbitrary. Having to build for critical damage builds is one thing, building for the random chance to win the game because some thing procced at the worst possible moment shouldn’t be a thing.

After reverting previous pvp daily achievements involving tournament games why would you not only reintroduce them, but reintroduce them in a form that takes almost 10 times longer than the previously removed achievements?

Its fun to see that half of request are for skins/reward and pve content in pvp.All we want as tpvp players , is to get an unjoyable game to play , with some efforts toward class balance , not a cultural skin and new design of heart of the mist….

I really want to know of the plans to incorporate legendaries into PvP. There was a ton of hype about this when they first announced but nothing since then
Is there any chance we’ll be seeing weapons expanded to other classes in the near future, or are you guys focusing on balancing what’s currently here?
Allow every item in PvE attainable in PvP. Usually a player has to make a choice on keeping a item/skin (meta rewards and legendary’s) for PvE or WvW, why cant we just get both? Stop trying to squeeze our pockets dry of money.
PvP also has less skins available, a lot of them come from achievements outside of PvP in PvE. This is not fair on people who live in breathe in PvP and don’t set foot into PvE. Can we just get them added to the PvP locker or at least the vendors?
Lastly, new rank system! There is way too many High ranked players who can barely play at a decent level. A system that rewards skill and not afking in a map please.

- Have any discussion on having a team on PvP? Like a guild except with only PvP related missions and improvements and such or else add more PvP options to guilds. Also guild progression is primarily focused on the guild leaders server while PvP you play with people on other servers.
- Any news on mass conditions?
- PvP specific gear/legendaries?
- Different team sizes? 3v3 2v2?
- How about some voice integration for groups? Would be able to communicate much easier and matches would be more competitive and fun.
- AI clutter
- 1v1 casual dueling arenas! You get spawned into a small arena after queueing and have the best out of 3 rounds OR right click someones name and click request a duel. I like the first one more but either would be fun.

The only thing I want for Christmas is profession based MMR and leaderboards. I’m not as good on my guardian as I am on my thief, but I still want to play solo queue without ruining my leaderboard rank and MMR or hurting my team.

- In this poll (http://strawpoll.me/737903/r ) a large part of pvp community (78%) voted to eliminate skyhammer from soloqueue. Do you have any plans to do this?
- Have you any plans to improve soloqueue matchmaking considering which class player uses to not create unbalanced team compositions? What about an account mmr and single mmr for classes?
- How do you want to solve afk and “low rank” players problems?
- Have you any plan to add UI infos for spectators? Like a dynamic counter for people involved in a teamfight and other general usefull infos that can help a spectator to follow better a match.
- IA builds create big problems in pvp, visual problems (too many elements on screen) and balance problem (very strong and easy to play). Have you any plans to limit IA builds only for pve/www and not for spvp or change their effectiveness in spvp?

1) 2v2 and 3v3 obviously aren’t hard to implement, but there is a reason we don’t have them. Is it technical issues, resources, not wanting to split community or 2v2 balance issues? It may be none of these but it would do wonders to explain why it isn’t in yet.
2) Up coming game modes, can we expect the gw1 style 4+4+4 vs 4+4+4 at ANY stage?
3) Would you be able to get some skills and balance team on to explain the intended direction for each class in depth.

Will the player base in general be able to spectate team arena matches live without zoning into them like in gw1? I no you want to build up twitch viewership, but I would imagine this could close skill gaps dramtically.

What role do you actually see Thieves having in this meta, because it seems that the only two methods they have of staying alive under any circumstances (stealth and especially mobility after Dec 10) are constantly under fire?
Where do you plan to take the class in the future, because it seems that each balance patch is a weird mish-mash of pseudo-buffs and nerfs in all sorts of areas with no specific goal or direction, the only exception being the change to Initiative recently?

1. Warriors are fine after the patch. Both useful and not OP. The patch was not supposed to kill warriors, it was supposed to tune them down. (please)
2. Yes, they need buffs, I have faith in anet on that one, but possibly only after the new skills are in the game.
3. Thieves have awesome builds right now. I’ve been running Faeleth’s S/P build all day and it’s been incredible.

I would personally like to hear about the history of the development of PvP.
Perhaps this is not something you can answer Grouch as you weren’t really involved in the original development of it, but perhaps other devs can share their thoughts. If anything, I think it would give great insight about why PvP works the way it does, why anet makes certain balance decisions, and what players should expect going forward.
1. How did the devs envision the PvP experience to be played (at the competitive level,) during the original development of PvP 1+ year ago? What sort of roles did they envision and what sort of class representation did they expect?
2. With regards to question 1, how is the current game different from the original idea of how PvP was imagined to be? What goals did the PvP team successfully achieve, and which ideas never actually matured on live?
3. What do the devs think of the current state of PvP experience? (not rewards etc.) What do you think needs to change completely, perhaps in terms of balance or gameplay, and what needs to be improved?

Would really love some PvP specific contests. Are there any plans to do something like this?
What i personally would like to see is:
- A pvp “movie” contest. It would be amazing to get a nice number of quality pvp videos out. This would keep the existing group of pvp players occupied and/or entertained and it could function as somewhat of a marketing tool aswell. Something people can show their friends, relatives and other pvp fanatics.
- A design your own pvp mode contest. The pvp community tends to think they know best….let them proof it. With a number of rules and guidelines to keep things realistic and and potentially usefull.

- Is it possible to give main hand dagger something to help defensively similar to how Scepter has Rock Barrier?
- My suggestion would be Rock Barrier activates on Dagger 3 magnetic leap. So you at least have incentive to leap into a melee enemy, aura leap finisher is not incentive enough to leap into anyone else melee.

Why do Necros have less conditon damage now than before dhummfire, while your still buffing condition removal?
extra dodges, real stability, mobility skills,
burst skills, sustain, or good support. GG ANET.
Have you ever considered removing the breaking glass from the skyhammer map, so theat pulls, nockback and fear as well as stability won’t be that overpowered anymore?
Because some classes lack of such things, and I thought you wanted every class having equal chances – onehit abilitys in most forms aren’t a fun gamemechanic, if not everyone has the some amount of it (pulls, knockbacks are one hits on this map sadly).
Maybe just change this for the tournament, maybe you can then go and put it even on teamarena rotation.
Templates > Are they coming? if so , 2014?
Mesmer > Is the direction you’ve been taking going to continue? i.e more buffs for phantasm builds?
Necro; any chance of changes for Scepter/Signet of Spite i.e 2buttonwinmachine?

Just some ideas…
- some unique rewards for pvp like minipets, skins etc
- compensation of rank points from previous tourny wins
- Guild Ladder
- Guild capes with special colors based on guilds ladder position
- remove player ladder (it prevents higher rated player queuing for fun with low rated people)
Enigneers and condition removal beside elixirs should be discussed.
So I have a few questions that I would like to see being addressed:
- What are you doing about skills rule-out other skills. For example the warrior signet heal, no warrior would take another heal because this one is simply the strongest. There are many skills like that, they rule out 3-4 skills that can fill the same role but are simply less effective. What is your intake on this problem?
- Are you guys working on new maps or focusing on changing current maps?
- Will you remove Skyhammer from SoloQue?
Please do something serious about eles.
